About Mountain Dog:

Mountain Dog are proudly the UK's Premier Dog Outfitter.
Established as a home-based business in 2017 when our border collie pup, Denver, joined the family. Since then our business has grown rapidly alongside this fluff ball who still acts as our ambassadog and chief tester of many products.

Today we have now served well over 150,000 customers and our business, whilst still small and family focused, occupies over 5000 square feet and is full of amazing dog products for the active and not so active pup alike.

We are proud to be a leading independent partner of world class brands such as Ruffwear, Dog Copenhagen, Kurgo, Kong, Non-stop dogwear, K9 Sport Sack, Rukka, ChuckIt!, Kong, EzyDog and many more.

Based in beautiful Northumberland our business sells on-line and at major dog events throughout the country such as Crufts.

“Really pleased with the coat . Customer service was fantastic, had to return an item and reorder . Only downside was sizing , based on my measurements the size guide suggested small , actually needed xs . Easily resolved , free return label provided . Highly recommend Mountain Dog .”

“I’ve brought my beagle puppy a few of these harnesses as he grows in size. They are padded for comfort. He hates putting it on but loves running with it and exploring. I’ve already brought the next size up for when he grows again.”

“We were looking for a safer car harness for our dog. We don't own a car, but use hire cars and our dog is borrowed by a range of people for adventures, so we needed a flexible set up. The website was really clear and easy to search for a specific type of harness, and the price was very competitive. The sizing was accurate, as was what we needed to do if we wanted to return the harness if not correct, which put our minds at rest that we could ensure it was correct. The product is of excellent quality, and once we worked out with our dog how she wanted to put it on and take it off, it was really, really easy (with treats). We think that we will probably swap to her normal harness so we are training her to change harnesses, which is really, really easy. We haven't tested her in the car with it yet, as we wanted to give her time to get used to the different feel (more material, tighter and stiffer) but she was jumping over obstacles in the car harness last night in the home, so we are confident she will be able to jump up into and out of the car wearing it. The attach loop, thankfully looks long enough that it looks as though it will have the flexibility we were looking for in that she will be using different cars with different set ups. We know the purchase was expensive, but we think it is worth it, and we have found we don't need to loosen/tighten the straps - our dog is keen to put her head through and then she now pops her own leg through, so it is amazing to see how keen she is to put it on (mind you, that did involve tuna). I don't think we would ever use it as a walking harness, mainly because we would want to preserve the integrity of the materials by not getting it dirty and stained. We are really, really pleased we decided to take this step and managed to find something that we think fits our requirements. Thank you.”

“We measured and ordered XS, the when we fitted it on our Cockerpoo it looked short on her back. We then ordered S which was huge. We now have been using it and it ticks all boxes. It’s comfortable very easy to put on and her light also from mountain dog fits well. Lots of compliments from other dog owners. Our dog loves wearing it!”

“Absolutely brilliant harness from Mountain Dog. Ordered the size I thought would fit our 2 year old Cockapoo but it was too big around the shoulders even on the smallest setting, so we sent it back without any problems and they exchanged it straight away for the smaller size which fits perfectly.”

“Our Jack Russell recently became blind due to glaucoma and we purchased a Ruffwear harness for him to keep him safe on walks. It takes a little while to adjust to ensure a snug fit but he is happy in it and knows we go walking once we put it on him. The carry handle is brilliant for emergencies such as big scary dogs and sudden stops in the middle of busy roads ..”
