The builders and the fitters arrived early and were very friendly and polite. The frames and windows are good quality, however one window had been measured incorrectly and the fitting of the two bay windows left a lot to be desired. For the price I paid I was expecting better. I had to get someone to inspect the fitting and a service technician came and spent another 2 days putting everything right. I was disappointed that I was not offered a refund or some form of compensation.

Hi Carol, thank you for your review and for bringing your concerns to our attention. We’re pleased to hear that our team was friendly and that you appreciated the quality of the frames and windows. We apologise for the issues you experienced with the measurements and fitting of the bay windows. These can be tricky installations which sometimes require adjustments. We hope you are happy with the final finished installation. Best regards, Lisa.

The actual building work and installation of my orangery was well done by Paul and Ian (foundations and building work), John and Lee (installation of flooring, glass, windows and lantern), Scott (electrics) and Jeff (plastering and rendering); they all were polite and friendly and left the work area clear and clean once they had finished. The communication was less well done though: The various surveyors/checkers failed to realise there would be a problem with the foundations, which resulted in a 20% increase in overall cost of the project. On a number of occasions, I would get a telephone call to say that such and such a person was wanting to gain access to the work area and was waiting outside my house, but I was not at home as I had not been informed of a potential visit by said person! I would recommend EYG from a build quality aspect, but not on the communications aspect.

The windows are lovely but after the fitter had gone we discovered a water leak from the bathroom toilet!! We had not used the loo in there when we went in to look at the new window found a puddle of water and he must have stood on it or fell on it and dislodged it which caused the leak. We have had the plumber to repair it costing us £150.00. Not good. Look forward to your comments.

Ordered patio doors. Fitting was very good. But the glass had a scratch and the handles were also scratched. The fitter said they would be replaced, that was 11th November. Heard nothing since. When fitters left the door wouldn't lock so they had to come back to sort it. Surely they should have trued the lock before they left. I am still waiting for glass changing. No information forthcoming.

UPDATE: I gather you should have received an email now, stating that we are awaiting the glass and will replace the handle as well , again, our apologies for these issues. Lisa

Happy with the overall build of our conservatory although didn’t get the flooring we wanted & ordered months before the floor install so had to compromise to get the job finished. Couldn’t fault the guys who did all the hard work however the build process way too long. Had the feeling our job was managed in between bigger jobs although can’t prove it. This was 3rd time we had EYG, previously no issues but disappointed in the management of our job and their attitude

We do apologise for the issue with the flooring, unfortunately there was an issue with the floor supplier. Our Installation Manager did source a better floor, however we do appreciate that you were frustrated with the late changes, and again, we do sincerely apologise for this. We are happy to hear you were pleased with the build, and we wish you many years of happiness in enjoying your new room, best wishes, Lisa

Thank you for your review and for praising our installation team. We apologise again for the issue over the starting date, which was human error on our part and we double booked that fitting team. We're glad we were able to arrange another appointment that was suitable for you to prevent any further delay. Thank you for saying you would choose to use EYG again and we hope you enjoy your new doors and windows. EYG Customer Service Team.

As former loyal customers of EYG we had no hesitation recently in contacting you to request a quote for replacement windows, doors, soffit and fascia. However, our recent experience has, disappointingly, fallen short of our expectations; we very much felt the 'hard-sell' and were left feeling rather ‘steam-rollered’ into making a decision, having been told that a price increase would be implemented from the following Monday and that we had until the Friday (less than 48hours) to decide whether we wished to accept the discounted quote of over £18,000! We do still wish to proceed based on our previous experiences and the quality of the work done. We have always received good customer service from EYG and any salesmen who have called have appeared unrushed with no pressure sales pitch. Unfortunately, this was not the case on this occasion; we felt that we were given very little opportunity for unrushed time and space to reflect on our choices and make a decision (I got the impression, possibly incorrectly, that we were taking too long). It was made clear to us that should we have any further questions then we would have the opportunity to raise these with the surveyor prior to going ahead with the work. Having now had the opportunity to reflect on the quote and the experience, we do have further questions we would like addressed. We should add that, in fairness to the salesman, we were aware that he had two further appointments that day and that he had already had to ask for his following appointment to be put back.

We had our bay window a few months ago and everything was fine. We were then told if we wanted anything else doing they would guarantee a price for six months, so we ordered two more windows to be replaced. The same two guys as before came and gave us a price and measured up . A couple of weeks later they phoned with a date for fitting them, but said the windows were going to cost another £500 above the 'guaranteed ' price! Very very disappointed and very very let down.

I have no issues with the ordering process, subsequent communication or workmanship. But, there were issues with the installation owing to incorrect information being recorded by the surveyor which meant one of the windows had to be fitted in a different position to that intended. This looks slightly odd. I have used EYG on several occasions and this is the first time there has been a problem.

When the initial fitting date was cancelled because of Covid, I was sympathetic, but when the next date was cancelled I was angry and was in 2 minds whether to go ahead with the fitting. However, FULL MARKS to both of the lads who did come to fit them, they were terrific, efficient and leaned up after themselves. I am very pleased with the windows.

While the workmen were lovely they sadly cut through my Ariel wire, meaning I was without a telly until I could get someone to fix it. A small window was cracked but they did replace it quite quickly

We ordered our new conservatory 15th January 21 and it’s was not completed until June 21, to say this took a long time is an understatement. The first part of the build went well and to plan, the electrician arrived as programmed on 29th April 21 the same morning the glazing fitters was due to start the roof and window installation the electrician managed to damage one of the brick pillars and left without advising anyone of the damage. When the window fitters arrived an hour or so later they advised the installation couldn’t be carried out due to the damaged brick work, we was then advised the install would need to be delayed due to the damage and would have to fit in with other installations due to the amount of work load EYG had booked in. The brickwork was repaired on 7th May 21 and advised the revised installation date would be 14th June 21, After much discussion with the Newark office the installation was rearranged for 17th May 21. The plastering then followed soon after along with the floor levelling which the floor had to be done 3 times and still wasn’t acceptable to lay a floor covering on. It was agreed with the Newark manager that I should get the floor levelled and the cost would be paid by EYG, this was alll agreed and eventually all works was completed and I had a meeting with the Newark manager on 8th July 21 to sign off the installation and it was agreed we would receive a cheque for £355.00 to cover the cost of the floor and a small compensation for our troubles during the long build. We still haven’t received any cheque from EYG dispute chasing this up with the newark manager. To say we’re unhappy is an understatement considering the cost of the conservatory and the very poor management during the build. Just one other thing the electrician that was used is by far the most untidy and ignorant trades man I’ve ever come across, I don’t say this lightly as I’m also in the construction industry and deal with contractors on a daily basis. Also despite being told by the sales man (Fraser Collingham) in January to contact him anytime if there was any problems, I called Fraser several times and sent messages only to be ignored. So much for after sales service!! Please feel free to contact me by phone or email. Disappointed D Fearn

I was disappointed with the workmanship when fitting our door and window and lack of response when I rang up and was promised someone would ring me back but I had to ring up to find out why they didn't come back the next day to finish when I was told it would take a day..We ended up having to wait 10 days to get it finished..

They claimed there had been a mix up between sending the measurements to the manufacturer and our windows being made. We called after hearing nothing for 6 months and they had no idea where our windows were. The installers were incredibly fast but left big gaps and messy sealant that I had to tidy afterwards. After installing the windows it felt like they forgot about us again, not sending us an invoice for 5 more months. At the end of the day the windows look great and I almost didn't leave a bad review because part of the issue was down to me not chasing them up but I got a second email reminding me to review them so here I am.
