Firstly, we have a lovely new conservatory, however, it’s not 100% as we requested and hasn’t been without its challenges. When the salesman was sat in our living room, there was a little of the hard sell. ‘I have a voucher that I’m not supposed to give you’ etc. but we in the market anyway so it wasn’t an issue. Aside from wanting a fairly standard conservatory, there were a couple of bits that were only just outside of the norm that we requested. Namely, the left side door to be the dominant opening door as it worked better for the feng sui of the space it opened on to and for the guttering down pipe to be positioned so it drained in to the existing drain under the kitchen window as there was no other drainage options that were easy. Neither of these requests were communicated to the surveyor as we expected they would be, and I hear you all saying that we should of checked but when you’re paying in excess of £20,000, I just expected that my needs and wants only needed to be expressed the once. The build itself started really well and the groundworks were carried out by a great team who I would have back in a heartbeat. The construction of the conservatory itself was without incident and when invited to check the works before they left, it was noted that the downpipe was not where we wanted it and the left opening door was not the dominant one and the gang reported this on their paperwork and a visit from the supervisor was arranged. The electrical works were done without incident and it was time for the plasterers. They were certainly not everyone’s cup of tea but I’m ok with that. They managed to complete the plastering and flooring in a matter and hours and they were on their way. The supervisor of the works came out and the drainage issue discussed at length with EYG relocating the downpipe without quibble. Unfortunately, the door had to stay as it was. The plastering works were also discussed as they’d left an unfinished area around our existing bi-fold doors, the sill on top of the wall still had a large visible strip underneath that should have been covered by plasterboard/plaster and they’d left a mess, not only in the conservatory but also in the garden where they’d thrown waste up the neighbours wall. When EYG came out to rectify these issues, the poor quality of the plastering was highlighted along with the 13mm difference in the floor level from one side of the conservatory to the other, extra trim was placed on the underside of the sill and around the bi-fold door, a decorative corner that had fallen off was glued back on and someone cleared up after the plasterers. It was arranged that the plasterers would come back out to sand down the plaster. When I pointed out the poor finish around the plaster/new trim around the bi-folds, the plasterer gave me new tube of caulking and said ‘that’ll sort it out when you paint’ like he was doing me a big favour. It has to be said that I’ve never seen such a poor attitude to ones workmanship before and coupled with the barely adequate job they did I would absolutely not recommend the plasterers. Whilst the supervisor of the works was very good at coming out to see the issues and getting them sorted for us, there seems to be a case of a bit of extra trim will sort everything and that’s the sort of attention to detail that’s missing. I don’t want extra trim as a cover up, I want a proper job doing in the first place. I’m sure when it’s all decorated and has nice furniture in it, it will look amazing and if there’s still some exposed brickwork at the base after the carpet has been fitted, I’m told a bit of trim will soon sort it out! All in all, we have a nice conservatory but would I recommend EYG? Probably not in all honesty as I think there are superior companies out there who will better document and communicate your initial needs when signing on the dotted line and who will strive to make sure your finished conservatory is 100%, especially given the price tag.

First the good bits: The window looks very good The fitters did a good job ( never mind the items they had to go back for) Now the not so good bits: At the beginning the rep. got his addition wrong and the quote was a mess (more to come, don’t go away!) Given the installation date we were all ready - no one came. Phoned the office - “They are on their way, maybe it’s the traffic” One hour later, no show so phoned the office again… “ They won’t be with you today!” No reason given, new date fixed. They did come then and they did fit the window…..lovely! Now the tricky bit. Emailed the office pointing out the error on the quote…..no reply. Phoned accounts….will look into it. No reply. I then get a frantic phone call from the rep. who admits he got his sums wrong but the number on the bottom line is right, will I pay that? NO, I won’t pay that. Sort it out. The numbers don’t add up!!! Second call from said rep. “I made a mistake. I’ll have to pay the difference etc. Come on mate, do me a favour “ By this time I was beginning to get a bit upset myself. Wrote complaint to MD. That was over a week ago. No reply. Maybe the boss is too busy but when he has a moment he might take a look at the various departments in his organisation so the right hand knows what the other one is up to. Oh, and he might send his reps to basic arithmetic class as part of the training. ERG are a big firm so they will survive without my moaning about the service. As for me…..once bitten etc.

Hi. Thank you for your feedback. We are glad that you are pleased with the quality of our products and the installation. However, we were of course concerned to hear of confusion over the quote for the work and offer full apologies over this. This was not acceptable and has been addressed with the people responsible. We take pride in our transparency and clarity over costs and we should never have a situation where a customer is unclear over the final payment required after completion. This was a very rare situation and I understand it has now been resolved. I hope the misunderstanding has not damaged your confidence in us. Kind regards Lisa

Installation booked in at the beginning of the year for end of March. 2 days before had a call to say they couldn’t make it but after I explained I had other workman booked in they said they could do it on the Thursday. Installation engineers turned up and when fitting back door they drilled through a central heating pipe flooding my new kitchen floor. Managed to turned the radiators off but it then took a further 6 days to get the central heating system back up and running. The back door would not shut properly and I had to lean against it just to shut & lock it. The service engineer who called the following day after my complaint looked at the door and the mess that had been made with the pipe & walls etc and said in his own words “ the jobs an abortion”. He the had the refit the frame correctly so the door would shut properly. They then had to organize a plasterer to come out to sort out the extensive damaged they had done to the walls. The engineers that came out to remedy the problems but the installation engineers would not even rate 1 star.

This was the second batch of work from EYG. First batch of front windows and door no real issues 4 stars, so we went with the rear windows and 2 doors a year later, which quite frankly could have been done by a completely different company. manufacturing workmanship was shocking and you've had to come back to them 3 times so far. Not Good! Not really kept informed on when you were coming back either. I appreciate Covid has proven hard, but still! Fitters and latent defect guy very pleasant, which is more than can be said for the 2 salesmen we had on separate occasion, neither were very pleasant, both stuck in the 1970s and only really dealt with "The man of the house".

Not a very good experience, rude fitter and extremely untidy leaving nails, screws and bits of plastic everywhere. They left my neighbours carport in a disgusting state and I spent 2 hours cleaning it.they were supposed to board out my flat roof before work began but didn't bother, when I asked why it wasn't the fitter said its not his problem. The work quality was good but everything else was not, won't be recommending this company to anyone

Shambles of organisation, product and fitters superb. Windows sent as ordered, all the trim a different colour to the windows, and the handles incorrect too... told there would be a one day delay due to ill fitters..... when the goods turned up they actually only went thru quality control on the day they were originally supposed to be fitted...... when the fitters were “ill”..... After paying the deposit I heard nothing due to Covid, didn’t even know they were open again til the sales team called to sell me more stuff, never mind installing the windows already on order!!!
