The Swytch kit has been fantastic. I have a mid-range hybrid bike that I use to commute to work and back. Since putting the Swytch kit on, the five mile ride has been a dream. The added speed and extra power on hills has made my ride fast and easy. The kit adds a fair bit of weight, but I appreciate the sturdiness and power of the motor wheel. I really enjoy the fact that everything is weather-proof and that the battery pops off easily to charge it indoors. After a fresh charge, the battery pack always has enough charge for my round trip to work. I have also had great experiences with the Swytch customer service team. They are very responsive, friendly, and helpful. They were kind enough to send me a spare part free-of-charge when I accidentally lost a piece. Overall, great value for money.

The Swytch Brompton kit gave me the opportunity to convert my Brompton to an electric one. I loved the fact that I can change my mind at anytime and revert my bike to a muscular one. The installation is pretty easy but some parts need a little bit more of attention like the pedal sensor (you need to find the best place to put the sensor and the right alignment with the magnets). It was my very first electric conversion and my very first wheel change ! I love having an electric bike so my commuting is a lot easier.

I would like to give different aspects of the Swytch wheel different stars. Overall it gets a 5 star with me. The wait time of getting the wheel is a 3 star because it took almost a year to get it. However, it's a start up company so I understand there are issues. They did a pretty good job communicating the set backs and wait time. 4.5 stars for their customer service. I had to communicate with them several times at the time of purchase and after receiving my wheel. My first communications were extremely fast. It was really impressive. The latest communications were a little slower but for a start up that had just sent out a huge batch of product, they did a pretty good job and took care of my issue accurately and to my satisfaction. The price, I would give 4 stars for the current price because buying a good new ebike is well over a $1000 everywhere I looked, but 6 stars for what I paid for, since I jumped onboard early on, I got a great price. I really like my bike so I really like that I could keep my bike and just convert it to an ebike. Wish I could do the same thing to my car. ;-) The wheel itself I would give a 7 star rating. I love this thing. It was fairly easy to install. I had a few issues cause my bike has a few places that are not the size they designed for. I couldn't use the brake sensors but I found they don't really matter. Once I got it all working, it was like a breath of fresh air. My bike is over 11 years old with thousands of miles on it. It just isn't as fast as it used to be. The Swytch wheel has changed everything. I love this thing. I like to commute to work, about 10.5 miles, and the last two miles are up hill. I used to get to work exhausted. Now, I get to work almost ten minutes faster, still feel I got a great work out, and feel great! I don't feel like laying down under my desk all morning. It really has changed my biking commute in ways I didn't think possible. So glad I didn't have to spend a thousand plus dollars to get a new bike. Thank you Swytch team! You made my tired old bike awesome again!

My wife and I both ride Bromptons so we bought two kits. Swytch seem to be the only supplier for Brompton kits that doesn't require irreversible engineering. This means the kits can be removed and the bikes sold as original should you want to do that. Their pricing makes it a worthwhile upgrade when compared to other upgrade kits or even trading in your existing bike for new. I’ve had no significant issues fitting the kits and the usability of the bikes with them fitted is very good, although we have still to do any really significant mileage. Folding is unaffected which was significant for us as we wanted to have bikes where we can get both of them into the car boot (mid sized family car). Some care is required in routing the existing front brake cable and gear cable around the battery. One word of caution, fitting the pedal sensor can be a little fiddly and requires some care but once you work that out the rest is straight forward. Overall I’ve been very pleased with the installation and find riding the bikes quite easy. The power setup options are many and varied and if I was truthful could do with some simplification but that’s a minor thing. Overall very happy.

Kit for a dahonJetstream folding full suspension bike, overall kit was good , the negatives, peddle sensor did not fit but an alternative was sent and to be honest was a better more compact part which I prefer, battery heavy on the bars , slips down and the strap cannot be used due to the stem configuration, a little of inner front forks had to be filed to fit the hub in. Most of these issues due to the quite rare type/model of bike. Brake cables have not been fitted as a little short on space, but has not given me any problems. The pull from the motor is good and flattens the hills easily. Hard to tell how long components will last but all good so far (only4 charges). I would recommend this product/company to everyone. I personally would prefer the battery/controller as a water bottle type to keep the weight lower and away from brakes, gear cables, lights.

So far so good. I have finally managed to take the bike out for a significant commute to work. Unfortunately, I am still recovering from a knee injury suffered from refereeing soccer... The commute is about 20 kms each way. In the morning, on my way to work the throttle was only getting me up to 8kms per hour. I figured that this had to do with a setting that I must have messed up. On Pedal assist, at the highest level, I could get the speed up to about 36 km/h on the highest gear with medium effort. I usually like to push hard when pedaling a non-powered bike. This felt nice, but the settings were off as I know that the bike can generate more power when I had tested it around the block during the colder months. Arrival to work was nice and a little earlier than usual. Plus my knee didn't bother me at all. If anything, the slight effort strengthened it. Before heading home in the afternoon, I managed to reset the system and wow! Using only the throttle, got me to a top speed of 46kph. This draws quite a bit from the battery. I then took a wrong turn and added a couple of kms to my ride. So I got worried about range as I didn't want to have to pedal without assistance with a bad knee. I stopped using the throttle after about 10 minutes. Instead, I set it to level 9 pedal assist. Speed remained high and between 40 and 46 kph. Got home much faster this time around with one bar of juice left in the battery. What a fun ride! I use clipless pedals and love how I can just get going by twisting the throttle and worry about clipping in later. I just wish the computer nomenclature, navigation and instructions were more user friendly. I'll figure it out in time.

This is a really nicely engineered piece of kit. It was easy to fit, and I find cycling with it is much easier. The optional brake sensors that come with the kit aren't really necessary, given that the motor stops as soon as you start pedalling. I bought the 50 mile battery kit, but I don't see that the battery would ever give 50 miles unless the pedal assistance was at it's lowest all of the time. Generally, the battery indicator is down to about halfway after around 12 miles (and I rarely go above halfway up the Pedal Assistance levels). I haven't attempted to run it flat yet, though. Generally, a worthwhile buy, and recommended

This is a great conversion kit, simple to fit and a hoot to ride. My car hardly gets used any more! I fitted the kit to my commuter bike which makes carting laptop, clothes, lock and lunch to and from work so much easier! The other big plus is I can ride the 10 miles to the office (including 2 long hills) and not arrive in a sweaty mess in need of a shower. My only criticism is that, with the battery bag attached, there isn't anywhere to mount a front light. Swytch obviously thought of this and built one into the bag itself but if you need something more powerful then you're going to need to get a bit creative.

After a shakey start with several technical issues, I'm now loving the Swytchkit on my Brompton. I live in a hilly area and 50 mile kit copes well. Hoping for years of reliable e-biking!

Great idea but 25miles battery doesn't not even get half way and diffocult to use on a disc brake bike.

Excellent! Works as advertised. The "silent" hub motor isn't completely silent though, at least not on full power. Not a real issue though. Highly recommended!

Easy to install. Instructions from YouTube are very helpful. The LCD controller could be much improved, especially the time/distance fonts.

Overall happy with my 2 conversions - I have selected ‘good’ as there is room for improvement - but my experience has been overall good and I am happy 😃

I converted my bike with a Swytch kit last weekend (27 April 2019). My kit was 50 Mile 250W eBike Kit - 28" / 700C / 29er in the UK The delivery of the kit was very was fast but I did have to make contact to ask for a charger which was missed out of the package. This was dispatched really quickly. The conversion was fairly straightforward and the tasks reasonably simple. I took my time and watched a few YouTube videos as well as the Swytch Guides. If I had to do it again I would leave about 3 to 4 hours mainly because different bikes may need slightly different considerations. The kit is good and gives you everything you need. Nothing is beyond the average cyclist that is reasonably proficient at mending a puncture or doing a roadside repair to get themselves out of a fix from time to time. The magnet disk sensor fitted the bike easily. I had to fit the sensor on the seat tube which had the appropriate space and then run the wire along the down tube but this was not a major issue. (No Sugru which judging by the number of times it is mentioned in the context of this sensor, must have made a fortune out of Swytch conversions). The front wheel with the motor is well constructed and it fitted between the forks without any adjustment. If you have ever fitted a handlebar bag, the handlebar mount is similar to fit. I made a special point of ensuring I got the front wheel the right way round but when I first got on the bike the power was not transferring to the wheel. When I checked I had still managed to put it on the wrong way round (silly me!). Mainly because the bicycle in the diagram was upside down and so all was reversed. For reference the motor wire needs to be on the left had side of the bike when the bike it's the right way up. I fitted one of the brake sensors but took it off because the positioning on my bike, near to the battery meant that sensor and the cable just got in the way. I have found the sensors unnecessary. The battery was charged after a few hours. The instructions suggested a full charge would take 6 hours but there was charge in the battery when it arrived. It took 4 hours to fully charge the first time. When the battery is charged the light on the charger changes from red to green. After a ride of about 30 miles the battery was down to 2 bars on the battery display. It was recharged after 4 hours. My first ride was about 30 miles. I had been off my bike for about a year due to illness so this is a way of getting back on the saddle and gradually building up my fitness again. I had not tried an ebike before so I was pleasantly surprised at how the power kicked in when needed up the hills which meant I could do a moderate ride almost straight away. I envisage myself gradually reducing the assistance over time and building my abilities back up. This has been a really enjoyable experience and I can't wait to get out on my bike again after work or at the weekends. Things I learned/improvements: -Get the wheel on the right way -More information about the battery, its settings, charging etc would be good. I had to watch an independent YouTube video to get more detailed info. -Don't bother with the brake sensors -Persevere with the tyre on the wheel rim it will stay on eventually. - Don't believe all the drama and information on YouTube. When you can, refer back to the Swytch information. -E cycling is not without effort - you choose the level of effort that's right for you. Don't be put off by any purists. Enjoy being out on a bike with friends or on your own whatever you prefer. I love being outdoors in the open air, and hopefully the sunshine. Cycling is one of the best ways to experience that.

Excellent quality, very fast dispatch. But quality control needs to be better. ordered a standard 250w 25 mile kit. No charger. Spoke to Swytch, they apologised and sent one the next day. All good. Ordered a second kit, No charger.

Received it in good time but I am missing the charger so have been unable to use it so far. Have written an email but still awaiting reply. Frustrating, and no phone number to call. Will be returning if no reply.
