After ordering it I had to wait longer than the time I was told it would take. During that time I received at least 20 marketing emails which had nothing to do with my purchase. I found that very annoying. The technical support was excellent because I had prompt helpful replies every time I made an enquiry always from the same person. The main problem was that I had to source different screws for the hub motor because the six dome headed screws were fouling the inside of the front fork. Eventually I found SS hexagonal headed screws but had to file the heads down to about half their original thickness, also I had to cut them to about half their length. I also had to file the flats on the axle down from 10mm to 9mm. Getting the sensor to rotate with a constant gap between it and the sensor was a bit of a faff, but just needed patience. Once done I had only two short outings totalling about 15miles before I had an accident by fainting while riding it. I was taken to A and E and spent a week in hospital. I've not cycled for 6months on medical advice but in a few days I will be allowed to ride my bike again. I was delighted with the performance of the Swytch conversion in the short time I had with it. I was not impressed by the marketing team's constant bombardment by emails of irrelevant sales jargon. Also, without my level of engineering workshop skills, the kit would not have functioned properly.

Swytch Bike has made my 3 mile/5 kilometer commute more fun. Set up was easier than expected with my only gripe being that I had to file the axle down to fit in the fork of my 2013 Trek FX 7.2. My town is very hilly so I also purchased the throttle to help get me up to speed with traffic faster. Overall unbeatable performance for the price, especially since I wasn’t sure if I’d even like an e-bike.

I love my Swytch. The light weight and perfect fit are great. It is much less cumbersome than the “real” ebike I got for my wife. The problem is I need a second(backup) battery so I can go on longer excursions. I’ve tried to order one from Swytch but I’m told that I have to buy another whole kit! What’s with that?

Pretty easy to install although the pedal sensor assembly does seem rather frail and the shape of my crank did not help setting the supporting bracket straight. Certainly is neat once completed. The most frustrating thing is not being able to go on the Web site to order parts such as an extra battery. Seems to pull well but not tried a long ride as yet

These swytchd employees won’t respond to your query in time and even it takes days to answer and they won’t even tell you why they have deducted so much amount from your security deposit . Very bad customer experience and I prefer to go to other platforms to rent bike .

I have two swytch kits for the 2 bromptons that I have. While you could install the kits yourself, I went to a brompton specialist that was familiar with the kits and their install. Pros: It is a cheap retrofit kit that is of decent quality. The battery lasts a long time, and the wheel hub puts in good work. I honestly leave the power on the lowest setting and that is more than enough to make the battery last a long time and get you up hills with ease. The fold still works with some caveats that I will outline in the con section. Cons: It does add a bit of weight to the bike. There are some variances with the part quality that might make each install different. The quality of the pedal sensor is questionable. For this price, I would gladly pay an upcharge to a torque sensor vs the way Swytch did it. The sensor can easily loosen or lose its calibration if it gets lose during normal vibration and you need to reposition the sensor back it where it was. If you think it isn't working well, just push the sensor close to the detector and it should work again. Inconvenient but it is what it is. The extra weight on the bike makes it difficult to roll the bike when folded. This is true even if you use a rack and have ez wheels (or equiv). The extra weight causes the rear tire to push down more on the rear rack which causes the wheel to poke through the rack (if you don't have the official brompton racks). This makes rolling impossible. The bike still stands on its own, but it also makes having the rack extender shafts mandatory so the bike stands straight. Misc: I had to contact customer service because I ordered 2 full sets of the Swytch kit and I was mailed like 3.5 sets. If I didn't contact customer service, I could have unethically kept them and sold them for a profit. Instead, I contacted them asking what I should do and I had to unpack everything, double check my invoice to make sure I had everything, contact them to make sure I wasn't sending out anything I needed, and then mail the remaining parts back (Swytch did pay for return shipping). There is lag in the communication, but if you go into it not expecting 5 star customer service, then it is ok. If you can't get the ARC kit because you don't live in the UK, the Swytch should be on your list. There are other players in the Brompton space now, but I still think the Swytch is a good offering. It is a solid B. With a few changes and improvements, it could be a B+. I would rate the official Brompton electric as a B+/A-. ARC would be an A+.

I used the kit throughout the entire summer of 2023. I'm quite pleased with the product. The battery provided me with the energy to ride faster with less effort. Generally, I select level 1 on flat surfaces and level 2 when there is wind or a slight incline. For me, levels 3 and beyond are just a waste of energy. At level 1, I can bike 45 miles (70 km), but the range drops to 18 miles (30 km), and when cycling uphill, more energy is required, significantly impacting the rest of your ride. If you plan to ride long distances, you will need two batteries, but it can get expensive. Dealing with customer service during COVID-19 was challenging. Fortunately, someone took charge, and I eventually received the delivery after almost a year. I didn't receive the proper wheel size, but once I installed it and went for a ride, I felt almost no difference. Just contemplating the idea of returning the wheel and getting the correct one was enough to elevate my anxiety to the roof! The product is fairly good, but take the time to shop around. The packaging was sufficient, and the booklet is quite comprehensive. However, their advertising suggests that you can easily switch the kit between bikes. Forget about it. You have to reinstall everything on the other bike—cables, wheel, and adjustments, etc. The max battery is quite heavy, if you insert it in your backpack. One thing I love about the product is that you can remove the battery, lock your bike, and go shopping. It's easy to remove and easy to install.

Generally love it. Fit to bike was doable, but required being clever. Mine has worked just fine, not perfect. Range (even along the exact route with similar conditions) is variable. Affect of motor drag at end of output is a bummer - SO much resistance, rediculous. Hate that. Odometer has twice now randomly reset to zero (at just above 600 miles). I find the fact that the battery itself has one set of charge lights that don't corroborate with control battery gage annoying. Little battery indicator is wild and goes from 2 to 1 then to 2 to 3, very annoying. These are the bits that riders need to have a good commute. I wish that when you pedal faster than the assist limit, that the thing would just chill and not add resistance. When I'm jamming I feel like I am cranking against the motor like a spin bike. boo.

The Swytch bike delivers! Now I can get to work on my bike in half the time. When an extra part was needed I received it pretty quickly. I think it’s a great value for the price.

Easy to install. I like the pedal asset and full throttle options. So far I've been loving my Swytch.

I am a Trade Plate Driver and use my Brompton to get me to and from train stations and vehicle pick-up locations. Adding a Swytch kit has transformed my working day. I now rarely use taxis and can cover 15-20 miles in a day, cruising at 15 mph with only gentle pedalling in top gear. Although I am aged 70, I can manage most hills without having to get off and walk. Although the Swytch kit does increase the weight of the Brompton, I can still manage to carry the bike up and down stairs at station over-bridges and I regularly take the bike on the London Underground. As others have noted, the quoted battery life is very optimistic. It might be achieved on a very smooth, level surface without a head wind, but in practice, I only get 12 miles out of the larger battery pack. (I always carry a spare battery because of the limited range of the Switch). I use the Bro Block for mounting the battery. This places the battery in an ideal position and allows the bike to be folded without removing the battery. Fitting the Swytch kit needs to be done with care. I had to file the crank a fair bit, in order to fit the PAS disc. I also had to trim 2mm from the front fork ends because the drop-out was too deep to accommodate the locking tab of the anti-rotation washers. The small wheels and high tyre pressure required for a Brompton, can make the ride very bumpy and jarring. I found this could make the main connector to the hub motor separate. I fixed this using three cable ties – one around the cable either side of the connector, The third, tying the first two ties together. I highly recommend the Swytch kit, but don’t skimp on the cost - go for the larger battery.

There is a lot to like about the Swytch kit. It was relatively easy to fit even though I did have to do some filing down of the wheel to get it to fit. When it works it all works great and it certainly encourages me to use my bike more often. The main issues are that because of the hills where I live I don't get anywhere near the maximum distance out of the batters. I should have got the larger one even though none of my journeys are longer that the rated distance for the smaller battery. Also, it is very easy to dislodge the sensor disk that goes around the pedal. Because of the design of the pedal the disk does not fit very well and is easily knocked out of placement meaning that power surges on and off as the pedal is turned or there is no power at all. Having said all that, I have just ordered one of the long distance GoGo battery packs which should help with my distance issue.

Jazda super, cena zestawu również same plusy

If I had known it was going to take as long as it did I would have probably gone to another supplier. When they eventually did arrive (well after the use window that year) the actual kit was really good but by then we had gone through the summer period when the most use would have been.

Worked in the end, but a long wait to delivery. Pedal sensor fixing to frame does not offer enough flexibility to cater for the frame tube sizes. This is critical as the sensor needs to be exactly and securely fixed to work reliably. Plastic ring of magnets used to trigger the sensor is vulnerable to damage and misalignment.

Nearly all the parts work greatly, but not the standard control power unit (without display).I couldn't set any lower speed or power, even at the lowest settings it speeds up to more than 30 km/h.Therefore the larger battery gives only 20 km of range because of less power from myself. So I got the OLED display which is very good, but expensive. With this I could set a fitting power step and more range. If you have to pay the full price for the set, maybe its a litte bit high. But the battery format is much better than most of these bottle cage batteries of your competitors

I'm recovering from having both knees replaced and wanted an e-bike to help in my rehab. This bike has been exactly what I needed to get me back on. I don't believe I would have ridden much at all without the "peddle assist". I can do between 5-10 miles easily on the battery and basically just use the power on hills and inclines. I've not needed to contact the company for any customer service in the 6 months I've had the bike. My husband (not a bike mechanic) was able to set it up after having a local bike shop switch out the wheel. I'm very happy with the bike and have told everyone I know its a great alternative to buying an expensive e-bike. It suits my needs perfectly.
