“Speed of delivery and value of product was good. However the postage might be less than what was charged if you did not place the item in a massively oversized box with too much plastic filler. This is environmentally incorrect.”

Hi Andrew, Thanks for leaving a review. I thought I would just clarify why we send batteries the way we do and also try to alleviate any concerns you may have over our environmental impact. Our £4.95 next working day postage charge is actually subsidised - it costs us more than this to send items by courier! Because Royal Mail will not post batteries and will in fact remove and destroy any packages confirmed to be Li-Ion batteries, we must send these by courier. However, very small items like batteries are not suited to being sent by parcel couriers so we need to bulk up the parcels to ensure it arrives with you safely and on time. Please don't worry as most of our packaging is in fact recycled or recyclable packaging. We recycle all the void fill we receive (bubble wrap, air bags, polystyrene void fill) and as many cardboard boxes as we can when packing customer parcels. This is also why sometimes a box may be bigger than is necessary, because we're using what we have to hand. Any excess cardboard is sent to a recycling centre. We do occasionally have to buy cardboard boxes and void fill. We only buy recycled cardboard boxes and biodegradable void fill. Unfortunately we haven't yet found a way to avoid the use of bubble wrap just yet, but we are looking into ways to use our excess cardboard as a bubble wrap alternative in the future. For now we try to re-use any bubble wrap we receive and buy as little as possible. Please be assured we do everything we can as responsible retailers to minimise our environmental impact. “Delivery was quick at a fair price. However I needed advice on a problem with using the scanner(subsequently resolved by advice from another source). I phoned, got a recorded message saying 'we'll phone you back, all our staff are busy'. Over a day later, I'm still waiting.”

“Had a good purchasing experience with this company. Customer friendly staff. Reliable and prompt delivery. The only slight disappointment was in the advice given about the replacement eyecup I purchased for my Fuji X-T3 camera. I understood from what I was told that the size of the viewing hole in the rubber eyecup was larger than the one supplied with camera, but this did not turn out to be the case.”

“I have purchased from "Wilkinson" shops on numerous occasions before, however with the "Covid19 Lockdown" in place, l thought l would try their mail-order system. Hence l place an order for "A4 Permajet Test Papers & a Manfrotto QR plate. When the order arrived it was short of one pack of paper and the enclose pack was the wrong type. Immediately l rang Wilkinson's who immediately corrected matter as far as they could. Anyone can make a mistake, it's a case of how matters are corrected. Thank you "Wilkinson's", l will be continuing to use you, both mail order & shop. John Fairclough.”

“The price was fair, the Panasonic lens was in great order, and it arrived quickly and well packaged. One tiny niggle is that the lens was not particularly clean, which was a shame. Would I be happy to buy from them again? Yes.”
