“The children enjoyed their workshop - thank you. The facilitator was really enthusiastic and child friendly!! For younger children (Year 3 in our case) some photographs of the soldiers / posters would have been helpful as they were not familiar with all the language and these visual clues would have helped with their own ideas too.”

“Thank you so much to Louisa who came into our school yesterday to deliver the Poppies and Poetry workshop to our KS2 children. The children were hooked from the get-go and clinging to her every word. The workshop was great for developing the children's historical knowledge, encouraged and drew out some fantastic vocabulary and was great for English skills too. The workshop was well adapted to suit all of our children's needs and tailored to each year group. Overall, it was a fantastically engaging, active and inspiring workshop and has even inspired some of our children to go away and write their own poetry! Thank you so much.”

“Our dance teacher was very knowledgeable in terms of the story being shared with the children and had a calm and patient manner when delivering the workshop. For our very young Reception children there was a lot of sitting and listening at first which they found quite difficult, so perhaps a more active approach throughout the session would have helped to retain their concentration. All children however enjoyed the activity and followed the instructions to move in the manner modelled for each character from the story.”

“The dance workshop was well organised. Hannah pitched the content at the right level and the lesson had structure and good pace. All the children were engaged and enjoyed the session. We thought it was excellent. Hannah, who ran it, was so engaging and calm and the children seemed to really enjoy it.”

“What a great day! Ollie was fantastic with all of the children across KS1 and 2 and bought The Ramayana to life, enhancing their understanding. Special attention was paid to SEND children where appropriate and teaching styles adapted accordingly. Lots of fun was had by all. Thank you so much Westend in Schools.”

He had great enthusiasm, the children learnt tonnes and retained all the information from the story the following day. “The Year 3 and 4 children took place in the dance session based around Diwali and the story of Rama and Sita. All six classes loved the session and were focused throughout the session. They learnt a lot through the medium of dance and this will then link to their learning in Religious Education. A fantastic experience for all.”

“Tom came to visit our school at Kirkby Avenue, he was prompt and enthusiastic. All of our year 5/6 children enjoyed the World War II workshop. It was such a pleasure to see even our quietest of children getting thoroughly involved. We believe that although the workshop was fully engaging, our children would have benefitted from the use of props and costume to immerse them in the theme further. Thank you for your visit.”
