“We had Rebecca and she was great with all the children (she worked with children from Reception to year 5). She kept them engaged the entire time and the afternoon went really quickly. The children really enjoyed reacting to the different characters and acting together to create mini scenes. A good experience all round. Thank you.”

“Hi, we loved the dancing and the fact that all children learned a dance, and the teacher was really lovely but we woulds have liked them to have maybe some appropriate spanish clothing and instruments so it could have been a more immersive experience.”

“We were visited by West End in Schools on Tuesday 17th March. The lead was engaging and ehtusiatic and the children enjoyed telling the story through dance. It was lovely to see how each classes dance was pieced together in the final performance and the children loved to watch their peers perform!”

“We were looking forward to this workshop but unfortunately it was simply a slide presentation and the presenter read off of the i pad. It seemed like she wasn't very familiar with the topic and also used vocabulary that was above that of year 4. There was some movement but not really a drama lesson as such. I wouldn't book this again.”

“We had a fantastic day with Priscilla. All the children took part and were enthusiastic, remembering thier part of the story. Priscilla was flexible and welcoming to all the children making sure they were all able to access the activities and feel successful.”

“We had a fabulous day with Sasha. She was enthusiastic and well prepared throughout the whole day. It was great to see the progression from EYFS all the way to year 6 in the dance and story telling. The children thoroughly enjoyed the day. The final production was fantastic with the children really enjoying the opportunity to see each other perform.”

“Our experience with West End in Schools was, quite simply, amazing. From the moment Elizabeth stepped through our doors, she brought a burst of professional energy and West End "magic" that completely captivated our pupils and staff alike. Even some of our most reserved students were involved and captivated by the end of the session. The workshops were paced perfectly, keeping energy levels high while ensuring every child felt supported and seen. Elizabeth created a safe, non-judgmental space where children of all abilities could express themselves confidently. A huge thank you to the West End in Schools team for such an inspiring visit. We are already looking at the calendar to book our next session!”

“The children enjoyed the drama event, however this was a story that isn't very well known. Despite reading the story a couple of times it is not accessible for our children especially children with EAL. The performance for the children at the end of the day didn't work for reception children as their workshop was at the start of the day so they couldn't remember anything. The facilitator changed the format for the 2nd day but admitted it was too difficult a story for ks1 and reception. The dance didn't really support the story.”

“Emily was a fantastic representative and engaged the children in the activities. The choice of stories suited our curriculum and the flexibility from West End in terms of timetabling for the day was great. Communication was prompt and the day was oragnised quickly. We thought that perhaps for the money that had been paid for the workshops, there might have been props or resources brought to enhance the sessions. We also perhaps thought that there might have been somthing given to the children or a simple follow up task/activity, given the expense of the day.”

“Y6 - The teacher really enjoyed the workshop with his class. It held their attention, was interactive and angaged children of all abilities. Also told an interesting story. Y4 - Very calm, and patient with the class. Asked if there were an SN in the class and made sure to speak to and check in with each group. The facilitator created a welcoming and engaging atmosphere. Great feedback from all other years of the children really enjoying the workshop”

“The children loved the stories and more session. It was very interactive! Lucy was great with the children, energetic, enthusiastic and positive. The children loved learning a new story and watching the older children perform. Our feedback would be possibly timings? The session seemed very rushed, the children had to learn a lot in a 25 minute session. Then the assembly ran over so we very late going to classes which them caused an issue with getting them into the classroom safely. I could not fault the teaching. The teacher was clear with her instruction and in the way she modelled each step. All children were focused. I thought that the group work was smoothly blended into the dance and it encouraged less confident children to participate. This was also something that the children really enjoyed. I thought the teaching was exciting, positive and enthusiastic and the children in my class seemed to really enjoy story telling through dance.”
