Staff felt that the production would be more suitable for Reception and KS1 than it was for KS2. The children could not really hear the music or the speaking. Unfortunately, we expected more for the cost. We wish you all the best for future productions.

Jess was really lovely and great with the children. The session was more of a storytelling exercise than a performance which I was led to believe. Also, as a teacher, I find adding music or costumes to the role-play helps the children get into character.

I have spoken to my colleagues who were involved with the session. They thought there were nice ideas but not explained very well - over complicated and also not enough dance. There was too much of a PowerPoint focus.

I was disappointed in our workshop. The guy delivering was good but i found that we could have delivered the same in school easily. In order to charge this amount, it needs to be something special in my opinion

Thank you for delivering your workshops at our school. Unfortunately the workshop didn't meet our expectation. Due to children having very low levels of English, we hoped for props/ music/ visual aids to support the child and engage them in relation to the story. This wasn't the case. For how much we paid, we feel our school teachers could have delivered the workshops like that.

I am sorry to say that we were very disappointed with the Diwali workshop, it wasn't what were expecting at all! The presenter arrived dressed in very short shorts, which is not appropriate for a primary school in our area, even though we are a British Christian school we do have children from other ethnic minorities who have other cultural beliefs, which we need to respect. Short lycra shorts are definately not acceptable. Presenter, came with no props, was expecting traditional Asian wear, and put her laptop on a chair she found in the hall, when we offered for her to use our speaker and screen system, this was declined. We tried to take photo's of the workshop, but they looked like a group of children prancing about in the hall, there was no obvious signs that they were learning about Diwali and it was a dance workshop.

Not very good. No backdrops, limited costumes. Just 2 adults hiding behind tables!

Very disappointing performance and not good value for money. The props were very dated and although the actors were energetic and enthusiastic they didn't engage the older children.

Although the delivery was engaging I felt the content and vocabulary used was too advanced for our youngest children. It would have been better if there were props, pictures or puppets to help bring the story to life. It would have been nice to use material or scarves to add another dimension to the dance. The moves and sequences of choreography were very difficult for our youngest children (Nursery and Reception)

Katy and George were lovely and very talented. Unfortunately the show and performance weren’t appropriate for the needs of our students - the performance was not interactive in a style which was accessible for SEN students.

Although the leader (Lana) was lovely, I had anticipated that the children would be doing something more hands on/creative/drama-based. As it was, they were told where to stand and given lines to read out, many of which they didn't understand the significance of. Perhaps it would have been more effective if less was covered but in more depth?

I'm afraid that my group had the last slot of the day and it was very apparent that the lady running the session had tired as her delivery was very flat. There was no allowance for exploration of drama skills which were not even mentioned. I am a drama specialist and was very disappointed at the pace with which she delivered the session which didn't allow for any individual creative thinking. The children were literally doing what they had been told.

Our instructor was great however, as a school, we were expecting props or even some examples of traditional dress for Hindus celebrating Diwali. Most children were engaged with learning and I just feel that having that extra visual would have truly gripped them. It felt like a high quality P.E. lesson rather than a Diwali dance experience.

The size and scale of the set was very disappointing. It looked cheap and thrown together at the last minute. The 2 cast members were very enthusiastic and sang/performed well, however they were not loud enough and the backing music was down way too low. The props were too small and looked cheap! Even one of the nursery children looked at the beanstalk and pointed out that it was too small! The way that the audience were sat meant that they could see the actors getting changed behind the two small screens and this was very distracting for the children. It was advertised as suitable for EYFS but most of it was too abstract and went over their heads. The use of Barbie dolls to represent the characters in giant land was disappointing. For the size of the audience the whole production looked very small and cheap. Actually to be blunt very amateur. This was not the all singing all dancing over the top panto experience that was advertised and was certainly not good value for money. As a staff we all felt very disappointed and we will not be booking again.

Very enthusiastic member of staff - however, the praise needs to be meaningful as the children rapidly became off task and rather over stimulated. Use of a powerpoint would have helped the presentation and perhaps complimenting individuals on their movements and sharing these with the group as a focussed learning point. Perhaps consider the introduction of a signal or sound (eg tamborine/triangle/ clap/ hands up etc) as a sign to freeze or listen or sit down would have been appropriate. Thank you for the learning opportunity.

I’m sorry there were some issues during the session. I have called you and emailed to hear more about it. This is our first two star review so I want to understand how we can put it right and ensure we don’t slip below the standards we aim for like this again. Our professional dancers are all taught to use control commands to keep children on task and to feature positive work, especially from any reluctant dancers. We will revisit this teaching with the team.
