“The initial online process was straight forward and intuitive. Had to make a phone enquiry as my cheque payment had not arrived a month after my package had been picked up. This was resolved quickly and payment was received a week later.”

“The process was straightforward and the cash was paid promptly on the receipt of the books. Packaging instructions were clear. The only downside was that I made 3 attempts to use the collect from home service. Hermes failed to turn up on any of the three days in which they had arranged a 12 hour collection window. In the end I used a drop off point which was easy. I wouldn’t bother with home collection on another occasion.”

“Good paying record, very good Hermes collection service. Poor response to sending you lists of old books which do not have ISBN codes, no replies received to my emails. there should be a better system. Why do you not accepted Book Club books?”

“Everything was dealt with promptly, I received regular updates of progress and my cheque arrived as promised. I want to point out, however, that to a technophobe like myself, it would make far more sense to place the Voucher button above the Sell my Books button. Having pressed the latter, there was no going back and I had to ring the following day to ask for my extra percentage to be added. This was done without question and I received the full amount. However, that was a frustrating hiccup in an otherwise smooth process.”

“very good company let down by hermes collection. They pay very quickly with fair book assessments but we ended up having to take parcel to drop off shop after requesting collection.Hermes turned up 4 days after requested date hence only 4 star review and not 5”

“It is good to get rid of some books but there are so many that are not accepted that it gets a bit tedious and when you do accept you pay very little!”

“Easy to sell - type in ISBNs or scan barcodes on their app. Obviously they tend to buy newer and more expensive text books. Prices are disappointingly low relative to how new and how much they cost but they seem to give prices competitive to their similar competitors who will buy unseen easily. They also will arrange collection with Hermes free - either dropping off the box of books to Hermes or arrange Hermes to courier if you can print off a label for the box.”

“Easy to scan books. But sometimes did tell me that I had already added a book which I had not. Found the collection/drop off part of the app confusing as assumed it was possible to change collection date, ie cancel and update but it created two collection dates instead. Hermes were very understanding!”

“Easy to scan the books with the app, prompt collection and money in the bank within a few days. Bish bash bosh🤣. Made £30 and took the ones they didn't want to a charity shop. They tended to be the novels that would sell there and make them money rather then the obscure text books or French novels that we buy books wanted, so win win.”

“The app is simple to use. When you have selected your books and cds to sell, there is an option for you to print out the label or gave it sent to you. I opted for dropping off the box to the nearest point to send it by post. It took a few weeks, but I got the money in my account as soon as they confirmed the box had arrived. All in all excellent way to get rid of extra clutter and turn it into cash.”
