The method of valuation when you get to the office is not explained during the on line valuation process. I was surprised that a 5 year old car was expected to be in showroom condition when presented for purchase. A few stone chips and normal wear and tear reduce the category and thus valuation significantly. I wonder if I had paid a professional valet company a few hundred pounds they would have still had the original price reduced by £500. They don’t add anything on for pre paid services either. Surely when you are selling a car to the trade they should expect to prepare it for the showroom. I’m not so sure that Phillips reputation is as good with me today as it was yesterday.

Very friendly and efficient but disappointed that the amount we were offered was reduced from £7,400 quoted online to £6,800 because of some very minor scratches and 77 miles over the threshold of 50,000.
