I ordered a petrol strimmer with harness. Only received the strimmer then upon questioning was told that the strimmer I purchased was no longer compatable with a harness. This is incorrect, the strimmer has a harness attachment point. Having used petrol strimmers for over twenty years I do know what I am talking about. Will battle on to get what I have paid for.

I received the strimmer promptly enough, but unfortunately the product has a faulty battery which won't charge. I tried to contact tooled-up by phone. Despite trying 6 or 7 times I've been unable to speak to customer services. It is an automated service where you press 0 for customer services, it then rings for a couple of minutes and then turns to a psuedo ring which after a couple of minutes terminates the call. I've since sent an email, still no response. I'm very disappointed in the service.

ordered two rakes, of which one arrived with a tooth snapped off. could not send replacement quickly without sending original broken one back, despite sending pictures of the damage through.

Unfortunately these things do happen and if only occasionally we understand they are very frustrating. Hi Brian, thank you for your review, We have looked into your order and can see that we did on this occasion despatch the goods later than our initial advised date. We list over 60,000 lines many of which are not listed by other Websites as they are hard to get etc. and unfortunately delays do sometimes occur. On this occasion a supplier let us down and the goods arrived after our advised date, we have a system for advising this and you should have received an email immediately we were aware advising you of any delay. Makita chopsaw as expected, sadly it took two weeks to arrive, I was not made aware of this delay when ordering. Emailed my concerns and was told 7-10 days. Need to improve delivery if they want to compete.

The web site and e-mail ads big up the 'next day delivery' aspect of the service. However my order was split and half failed to arrive the next day. I had to cancel my work for the following working day in order to receive the 2nd part of my delivery. Not what I was expecting!

I can confirm your order was despached 7 days after the order was placed. The item was sent out by Royal Mail First Class Post which is usually a next day service. The model flexible drive sent did not match the model power unit I have. I spoke to your sales department and they said that the flexible I needed is no longer held in stock. I offered to return the useless item as a credit against against purchacing a new current multi-tool set. They rejected my offer. I am now the owner of a new set with a spare flexible drive. Hi, thank you for your review, we have looked into your review as we do with all negative feedback. We think you have misunderstood our procedure, we cannot offer a discount on the item that you wish to return against another purchase but we would be happy to offer a full refund on the item as unwanted. Any item can be returned to us the only criteria being that it is unused, undamaged and in its original manufacturers packaging. We have checked the listings and they are all correct with the correct cross references etc. In this case it appears that you have mismatched the two items but as stated we are more than happy to refund any items that are returned to us in original, re-sellable condition. I purchased an unwanted item. This resulted from the tooled up website issuing search results as 'suggestions' despite having entered the full correct item. Having made this mistake I wanted to replace the item with the correct one (a cordless version). Same thing happened only this time, yes, the cordless mower but without lithium battery or charger. Just want my money back so I can shop elsewhere

Hi Gavin, thank you for your review although we must admit it has left us slightly confused. We have had no contact directly from you so we don't know what product you thought you were ordering? We have searched under all the usual search terms for the product you purchased and it brings up all the correct results within the product range of the item you purchased. The descriptions are correct etc. This range of products comes in powered and battery versions including the "naked" machine without batteries etc. the customer simply chooses the version they require. If you have purchased the incorrect item it can be returned to us for a full refund it simply has to be unused and in original packaging etc. We will refund the goods as soon as you return them to us etc. Thank you for your order. Lawnmower arrived quickly but on opening the undamaged box we found the contents damaged. It was not easy on the phone. They wanted us to waste yet more time taking photos and emailing them. I refused and asked for them to send a new one and take the damaged one away. This was refused so I said to collect the damaged goods and give a full refund. The goods were collected. We still await the refund which should have been immediate. We have purchased elsewhere and will not use this company again

The Sales Team member asked for images as this is a part of claiming compensation from the relevant carrier. we also immediately offered collection and replacement in line with our returns guidelines. This was not acceptable to you so we have arranged collection of the goods and a refund is on the system and has been processed. This takes a few working days to show in your account depending on your Bank. The website said that the item was in stock, whereas I got an email the day after confirming my order to say it was on order with their suppliers and would take over a week to get to me. When choosing carefully between different suppliers, being in stock is an important factor... if something is an 'on order' product then fair enough, just don't be dishonest about it on your website. Or make it clear that you don't run a live stock / inventory system.

Hi David, thank you for your review, We have investigated the timeline behind your order and according to our system our website was not showing the item you ordered as in stock but 3-5 days despatch time. There are several explanations for this including if you added the item to your basket but did not complete the order until later? Also if you did not refresh the basket? We have noted that the last one of the item was purchased and despatched during the day prior to your order being placed late that day. Hi, thank you for your review, we have investigated your order to see what has gone wrong. We received a report of the damage to the Tarpaulin in question from yourselves and because of the nature of the damage reported we asked for an image to ascertain what had happened to the item. We passed this onto the manufacturer for their inspection and are awaiting their comment. In the meantime we have arranged collection of the goods so that if it proves to be a manufacturing defect we can refund or replace as suits you. We apologise for the unforeseen delay but it is necessary with some goods to ensure before we replace them that the damage is a manufacturing defect. The product I ordered was not advised to me, at the time of purchase, on delivery from supplier. I was informed of this when I rang, at least a week after placing the order, enquiring where my purchase was. somebody did try to ring me back within an hour or so but I missed the call and you did not try again. the product arrive 5 or so days later. It was a good job I didn't need it in a hurry.

Poor response from Sales Manager to blame delivery company + driver , order should never have been dispatched in original production packaging , which was not adequate and packaging arrived damaged , not received voucher but would not use anyway .

Hi Mr Lloyd, thank you for your review, we are sorry to hear that our delivery partner fell below yours and our expected standards. The company concerned sends e-mails prior to despatch so that the package can be held or delivery date changed etc. so we are not sure why you appeared not to receive the full set of advisory e-mails. The item should never have been left on your doorstep as neither the Driver or delivery company had yours or our permission to do this. We have contacted the Company concerned and raised a complaint regarding this. This particular item is always despatched in the original manufacturers box as it is perfectly adequate to protect the goods inside. We have guidelines within our Company regarding extra packaging which firstly are in place to protect the goods but also to minimise the environmental impact of extra packing materials used. This is very important in this day and age when unnecessary packing materials are the cause of huge environmental damage. Once again we are sorry that you had problems with the delivery of the goods. We have arranged for a Compensation Voucher to be sent to you which you can use against a future purchase.
