“Great location and easy to find. Helpful reception staff and Claire Crilly did a great job at explaining everything to me in easy to understand language. Luckily for me, no problems found but things to watch. I will make sure I continue to visit accordingly.”

“Used the online booking system which was simple and straightforward. My appointment ran slightly later than scheduled by about 15 mins. I was very impressed with Nurse Rebecca's examination and her professional manner. She made me feel very comfortable and took the time to explain the process and the various types of moles, freckles etc that she observed. I had one high risk mole which she advised me to have "Telederm"ed. The results from this service are expected back within 3 working days. I was notified via my mobile after 24 hours that my report/results had been emailed to me, an exceptionally speedy service! Thank you so much I will return for further checks.”

“My girlfriend booked us appointments at the the mole clinic in Knightsbridge. It's something that I never even thought about, but very important as you don't really notice your moles and any changes. Locale was small but clean and modern. Consultant was very professional and friendly. Service was efficient and speedy.”

“I found the actual assessment good and reassuring. The nurse was efficient and checked everything. However, I was a little disappointed that I was not seen until over 30 mins after my allotted appointment time (having already arrived 10 minutes early, as requested), and then my 45 minute assessment ended up being whizzed through in around 20-25 minutes, presumably because things were running behind. Things felt a little rushed after a long wait. The nurse was good and I was able to get everything checked, but I feel that with the costs involved things could have been a little smoother.”

Our nurses are normally very prompt but occasionally a patient has exceptional needs resulting in their appointment taking longer than expected. “Although I felt daunted by the prospect of having my skin examined for possibly cancerous moles, the whole experience was positive. I was treated with dignity and respect and the person dealing with me was incredibly knowledgeable and very professional. I felt I received a very thorough examination and left with a much better understanding of skin cancer. A report followed within two days and I received a follow up call to check I understood what had been sent. If you are concerned about skin cancer I would strongly recommend you visit The Mole Clinic.”

“I had malignant melanoma 10 years ago which was, thankfully, removed. Luckily I am still here but am past the stage of getting regular check-ups with the NHS. Like most people, I have acquired different skin blemishes over the years that I 'wonder' about! I have now had a thorough skin inspection with the 'mole check', with nothing suspicious to report, but felt totally happy and relieved afterwards as there is always that worry in the back of your mind. I will definitely have an annual mole check from now on as it has released me from worrying that one of these new moles, lumps, freckles or itchy patches are nothing to worry about.”

“Overall a very good experience; my nurse (Claire) was very knowledgable and thorough. My only points would be that the reception staff were impeccably dressed whereas the nurses trousers were all different and some appeared more scruffy than others with some in faded black jeans. I would have thought in a healthcare environment there would have been a higher standard. The main reason I did not book my follow up review with Mole Clinic was due to lack of information on the website regarding the dermatologists that would be seen. If paying a private fee for a review I would want to be able to know who I have the option of seeing and their background and biography. This was the main reason I went elsewhere. Overall seemed a very nice place to visit and a good experience, but clearly there are things that could be done to improve your competitiveness in I'm sure what is a crowded market.”

“The nurse that examined me was first class, no faulting her. However I think the follow up report should be improved. I was told I have 5 moles to keep an eye on ... but no mention of which ones in my follow up report. Without a record they can't be monitored which sort of defeats the purpose?”

Thank you for reviewing our MOLECHECK service and for rating your Screening Nurse as 'first class'. The purpose of MOLECheck is to screen for any moles which are atypical and require diagnosis using our TELEDerm service. If a patient has moles which are atypical but do not require diagnosis, we normally recommend our MOLEMap service to help monitor all their moles for change over time.
