The fish society orederin and delivery is always good. However, this time we had ordered the breaded crab claws, as we have had them before and were always really good. We were all excited and looking forward to having them to make a change during our lockdown times. Unfortunately, they were really not nice at all. I think possibly not the same brand as we have had previously. Even the children came up to us with their plates of claws and said they didn't like them.. Its such a shame, because we have had to throw 2 boxes away as no one will eat them. This is just our opinion on this particular product. The other brand were definitely much better and enjoyable.

I was recommended by a friend and I was very disappointed. To be fair, he has only ought raw fish from you and everything I bought was cooked.

Apart from the monkfish rest was with no flavor and poor texture. Specially the squid , it was like plastic

I ordered 2Kg of mussels: First of all I was expecting my order quicker than 7 days. The mussels were frozen (which I was not expecting), and already cooked. Twice as costly as if I had bought fresh in the supermarket, and when I heated them 60% were closed, 20% broken and 20% were fine. They were from Spain, not the UK. The ones we could eat were large and tasty. But the whole experience of ordering from The Fish Society was terribly disappointing. I could have bought these in any shop in the frozen section.

Firstly I would like to point out that we always encourage our customers to get in touch with us directly on 01428 687768 or even better email Customer-response-centre@thefishsociety.co.uk if there is anything that you are unhappy about, please do so if you haven't already. I suspect that at the time you placed your order we were inundated with orders which is why there was a 7 day wait. This has now improved. Regarding your mussels being frozen and cooked this information is displayed on the product page of all our fish, sorry if you missed this.

Hello, The whitebait was fine but the sardines were not good unfortunately... They were either not frozen fresh or the freezing chain was broken at some stage... Apologies if I am being too harsh, but I am a connaisseur when it comes to fish... and these sardines were of very poor quality (the indicator of freshness is the collie of the skin under the bone which should be white and not brown, and of course the taste). I am waiting for my next order (the octopus and the prawns which should not spoil as quickly as sardines). This order will determine if I will use your services again.

Because of health problems I can only manage small amounts of solid food so I have become an avid soup consumer. I love fish soups but at this difficult time they are virtually impossible to buy. When I saw your site and the soups advertised I was filled with expectation. Sadly I am not impressed. To be honest the Lobster soup is unpleasant and the second tin was thrown away. The crab and the crayfish are just ok. Every tin was dented on arrival. I hate to bring up other manufacturers but Baxters Lobster bisque and Elsinore fish soup are far superior and significantly cheaper. Your fresh fish looks stunning and I hope when I can eat properly again I will try some. As for the soups, no thank you.

I bought 4 items, 3 of sashimi. Very high quality but - apart from the eel- basically the same sort of price you would pay prepared served up in a US restuarant. For example, the sea-urchin “uni” works out at nearly £4 a pop. This is clearly a crackingly good company, but I feel under changed.

One star for variety offered and two for personal call to advise they cannot actually provide what I had purchased already. Very disappointed. After checking thoroughly through the website given the corona virus issues at the moment I gathered from the information that delivery was fine for my postcode. After also paying quite a bit for an order, I got a call to say they cannot do it due to royal mail services however other companies don't have that same issue and I wouldn't have placed the order had I known. Refund was submitted to me however after 6 days now, I still have no access to my money and have been told it can take a month to process through the bank eventhough I paid through PayPal. I'm aware this is not the companies fault albeit the information on postal code areas and delivery services needs to be updated to save issues like this from happening.

Probably my own fault in that I thought the weight was per portion not total for the two pieces. However, have bought monkfish in supermarket that was just as tasty for fraction of price.
