The first few orders of whelks I received were very good. However the last twice they were full of bits of shell and not nice at all. Very disappointing.

One of my chosen products was not available, but they wouldn't tell me which one, so order was blocked. In the end, I had to cancel all of my order.

Sorry your experience with The Fish Society has been disappointing. We always write to our customers to let them know if there has been a stock keeping error and at that point specify which product we are referring to. it didnt I ordered fresh lobster , not only that in came frozen in 100 pieces but when i cooked it it was full of green substance. By checking on line what it is I released that the green substance in the lobster is actually toxic . So i has to trow it away .. NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER.

Sorry that you were disappointed Jasmine. You will see on each product page that we state whether a product is frozen or ambient, perhaps you missed this. Regarding the green tinge to your lobster if you had consulted us we would have pointed out that as the label explains *Green tinges in the meat - the lobster's tomalley (liver) is green and occasionally tints the meat during cooking. It is still perfectly good to eat. The tomalley is a gourmet item.* Despite best efforts lobsters may arrive with a detached claw however, not in 100 pieces. basically: the clams were mostly open as were the muscles. the prawns were cooked and i thought there were meant to be raw i shant be purchasing again with your company. also the muscles came from spain> when we have muscles in this country.

Sorry you were disappointed with your recent order Lara and we hope that the information below taken from our website is helpful. The clams were cooked which is why they were open, you will see on the product page that we state if an item is cooked/raw/cured and also the country of origin. PLEASE NOTE: Live clams open when you cook them. This is because the heat relaxes the muscle, pushing the clam open. These clams were alive and kicking when they were frozen, but as they are now dead, some probably won't open, because the muscle won't register the heat. You can pry them open with a blunt knife. The ones that don't open are safe to eat.

Fish well packaged and good delivery, but was disappointed in size of cod. Kippers very boney. I don’t think the produce is value for money and postage is £7.50 so runs expensive for what you get. Won’t be reordering.

Sorry to hear this. We state very clearly on our website the sizes and prices of each pack of fish. Keeping frozen fish cold during transit is an expensive business and we therefore recommend that it's best to place a larger order as the cost of delivery decreases. We are currently offering free weekday delivery on orders over £50 to non remote areas. Just apply code FDJU at the checkout should you wish to give us another try.

Very disappointed with the size of the fishcakes. Starter size rather than main course. Not what I’d expect at that price. Won’t be ordering again.

Fish was good, but you should improve the packaging. The eels were completely defrosted, quite at room temperature. Breams and basses just acceptable. Internally, in the box, the temperature was for sure over the temperature of a fridge. So we are not happy. Thanks Ezio

Prawns had no flavour, post was good frozen and well packed, wont be buying again

Product discrimination that was on the website was not what I got eventhough you so it by weight this should be presented as that not bigger on your website.

Experience issues with the delivery by the courier. Communications were helpful to resolve this. Fish arrived and one packet wasn't safe to freeze. 8 degrees C Size and cuts were random - not ideal for steaks Was promised a credit on the account, however, no follow up by yourselves and no credit issued.

I apologise. The sea bass I ordered was 240g but I’m sure I received the 280g pack so 242g defrosted weight I suppose is what I paid for!
