The price was good and the process was quick & simple, but I had previously insured my 2 bikes with an insurance broker for just over 1 year, so opted for 1 years no claims. When my previous insurer said, as I had changed bikes, I didn't qualify for the no claims, I contacted 'The bike Insurer' to inform them. The price then went up (understandably), but I was also charged a further £25 handling fee. I phoned them, I filled in the forms, I printed the forms, I altered the form !!!!!......(up to date, I haven't actually had a revised form). Where do they qualify for a further £25? As a 17 year old still in full time education, £50 in handling fees is unfair, when I actually filled in all the forms, I made the phone calls and I printed the forms. My father was so furious on learning about the extra fee, he was shouting in the background and the lady took £12.50 off the fee.

I am sad to be paying top premium for my motorcycle to be sitting locked in my garage while I am waiting for a uk licence plate . despite being told by the DVLA I can use it for 3 months providing the vehicle has current registration from previous country. If find this scandalous.

It took days to get my 1964 scooter insured with many telephone calls and emails before even basic insurance cover was given, even though I have no complications such as points on my licence etc. It then took weeks to get the scooter fully insured to the value I paid for it, a receipt for the scooter showing the cost was sent through email, plus photographs of the scooter, it still took too long to get the cover I had paid for. As I am in a group of similar people, I have not recommended my insurers to anyone due to the length of time it took to get cover.

I had a quote off Bennets for £96 fc I was already insured with Bennets but my renewal was almost £300 but when I tried to get it but it wouldnt go throygh to the next page so I rang them they wouldnt accept there quote saying it was longer than 30 days but it was 29 days, the Bennets customer service was almost offensive really abrupt and rude I have always found Bennets to be very good but I didnt understand what had haopened to them until I found out that they had been bought out by Saga that explained it. So I went with another company.

The problem is that like a lot of similar websites you stick to certain option choices which do not always reflect the situation. For example I had to tick that my bike is left on the driveway as it is not kept in a locked garage. In fact it is kept in my rear garden with a locked gate and CCTV coverage which is far more secure than my driveway. I also could not find the exact disc lock that I secure the bike with.

The saving that I received where nice , but on the other hand the company entire cover keeps threading to cancel my policy , due to money , and I have already paid an extra £50 to the organ all price of £ 241 for the year

Well, like most people what i was really looking for was the cheapest quote available for my motorcycle, and whilst The Bike Insurer did come up trumps here, it does not offer a wide range of benefits included in other policies i.e leathers, various modifications etc etc. These where quite expensive to add on as a bolt on option, so possibly it would have been cheaper to go elsewhere. That said, if i don't ever make a claim they will prove cheaper! They also required me to prove my NCD, which I have always had done for me by other companies, this was a minor problem that they in the end sorted by calling my previous insurers. I will look around again next year for a better policy, unless they have a huge price difference.

Most offered the same cover but at greatly differing rates.

Got a quote which was reasonable but by the time I had advised about my crash bars it rose by £30! Why? Surely crash bars protect rider and the bike and therefore lower costs of small accidents? The proof of a good insurance company is in the event of a claim (God forbid!) do they live up to their claim?

After cancelation of policy I still await my refund. Also, the amount I shall get backis not as much as I consider fair.

No problems with the site or insurance. Just note that anywhere insuring the bike is more expensive than insuring the house! Merely hoping I never have to use it!
