“I thought the course is generally good but the marking process could have been a bit more interactive and clear. I felt that what I was doing and the initial feedback was not clear and if there was a chance to speak to the marker perhaps things could have been smoothed up faster. I resubmitted 5 times which I thought was unnecessary as it was good enough to have a pass at least from the third submission with clear explanations about the changes necessary for that stage.”

“Thoroughly enjoyed this course. It provided variety, interest and practical experience. The assignments were marked in super quick time. The quizzes are a great recap of the learning undertaken and the breakdown of the modules works perfectly. Thank you TEFL!”

“Good modules, content was engaging. I got some feedback from one tutor which was helpful, but only got feedback from the other if it was negative. If you don't get feedback you don't receive a notification you've passed/failed, so maybe a minor point but it was frustrating having to keep checking.”

“The videos were clear and easy to follow. I enjoyed the activities, it allowed me to realise how much I knew and what I needed to focus on. Even though the course was online I would feel confident about planning and delivering a class in the future. It has made me look forward to the possibilities the certificate can bring me. Despite my being in another country, the Tefl team ensured my enquiries were answered quickly and often on the same day, this helped me a lot and I really appreciated the dedication of the team.”

“I wanted to learn more about teaching English and I think getting Tefl certificate has been definitely useful. I had the time to work on it around my working and personal life commitments as you get up to 6 months to complete it. I always got very useful tips after submitting my assignments that will be helpful to prepare my future English lessons.”

“When I was researching online to train as a TEFL teacher, I was initially overwhelmed by the choice of who to study with, but TEFL.org appealed to me and I have no regrets. The website/portal works very well and I enjoyed the challenge of the combined online course (120 hr plus 20 hours of classroom time) My designated tutor Alex was always prompt with marking my assignments and very supportive throughout. The 20 hr classroom course (over 2 days) was enjoyable too. Asif delivered his classes with confidence, enthusiasm and humour. I would recommend this course as a stable foundation for a TEFL career. There are also opportunities to study further and the relative cost of the course/s is very reasonable for what you get. I also like the fact that in writing this review that my grammar is still being corrected!”

“Content within the class was effective in illustrating teaching methodology to someone who had no formal education concerning education and minimal experience teaching beyond university tutoring. I would recommend this course to those who are new to teaching and want a well-organized introduction to teaching. while I do not think that this course will replace what I will learn through further study of tefl and on the job experience, it has given me the knowledge to begin that journey with a solid foundation. Feedback provided by the instructor felt effective in correcting mistakes in lesson plans while also adding additional information to learn and reinforcing the provided feedback. Having feedback provided on written assignments is my personal largest merit of this course over others, as I do not feel like I would have learned as much without provided feedback. While feedback was ensured to be returned within 48 hours, all my assignments were returned within 24 hours. The ordering of the course with some quiz content seemed as if it would be easier to do certain assignments after reviewing the content of later units within the class. While not a major demerit, I ultimately changed how I went through the classes as a result of this. Instead of immediately doing an assignment as it would appear in the unit, I would outline them, but then study the content of the next few units before fully drafting and submitting the assignment. For some empirical information: - The course took me four weeks to complete while working full time - The average time to complete a lesson plan assignment was 2 - 4 hours - I made a full PPP, skills, and Before, During, and After lesson plan over the course of the program, and was provided helpful feedback, corrections and further insight from the instructor within 24 hours - Generally, each unit took between 1 - 2 hours to complete all of the video and written content for the unit. Some shorter units took closer to 30 minutes, but were primarily in the shorter modules In conclusion, I am glad to have taken this program as the first step into teaching. While I plan to continue both professional practices and education in the subject, the foundation provided through this program is both solid and effective for a first-time learner. I would recommend this program to those in a similar position, who have an interest in teaching but no formal education or minimal experience that want to begin working in the field with a solid foundation to start off from.”

“I thought the course was great! I was able to learn so much from the start. Also, it gave me a lot of flexibility as I was able to complete the course at my own pace and my tutor was very quick to mark my assignments. I cannot think of anything in particular that needs to be improved except I noticed there were a few errors in regards to the layout of the website. For example, there were no spacing between certain words in some of the activities but overall, I really enjoyed doing the course.”

“Thoroughly enjoyable. The short modular structure of the course enables progression in easy chunks, and is suitably varied in delivery to maintain interest. Although the assignments were somewhat samey, they do ingrain the method of lesson planning. The course was a great experience, and I would recommend it to anyone thinking about teaching.”
