All i can say is that i am proud to have gone through TEFL. I will recommend TEFL to anyone anywhere in the world. One of the interesting thing is, one must not be a degree holder in education field to register for the course. All tutors in the programme are exceptional.

I enjoyed the ease of learning through TEFL Org. The option to learn at your own pace is just what I needed to fit my lifestyle. There are plenty of examples to help you understand the material better. There’s also lots of videos but I do prefer just to read.

1. Time to redo "telephone class". No one teaches over the phone anymore. I've been using PPP structure in zoom classes for years now and it works very well. It's obvious that this unit is rooted in the previous century and please don't teach Skype and other technologies (looks like product placement). 2. add comments to the videos so we know what is going on in the class (things like: eliciting, PPP - concept testing, etc. 3. The eight steps of a full PPP class are presented in Unit 12, module 2. Language Review is part of a full PPP class in this model. Not only it is listed as a step (see below the steps I copied from your online material) but also in the video corresponding to this step the teacher says: “So just to finish off, I want to see what you can remember from the lesson about the new words that we've learned. So can anyone remember the pattern, or the word he used to describe this design?” But when I did the assignment I got feedback telling me that Language Review is not part of a PPP class and more importantly why it is not included in the task? Lead-in (setting the context) Presentation - Eliciting the TL Presentation - Concept checking Presentation - Drilling Presentation - Board work Practice Production Language review 4. The course content is confusing for the following reason: In Unit 12, module 2 Concept Checking is set to be the first part of the Presentation and it is clearly explained to be an attempt to check how much of a target language the students already know. "Concept checking questions" are not explained or introduced anywhere in the course but they appear in the final written task and are expected to be employed at the end of the presentation. The objective here is to check how well the students have grasped the TL through the presentation. To make it less confusing the concept questions should be introduced and explained in the course body and it should be made clear that there are two separate occasions on which a teacher checks the grasp of the concept. 5. Video observation course is a complete waste of time. The bad class is bad acting and the quizzes can be done without even watching the videos as the answers are so obvious. One possible way to improve this would be to get rid of the bad class videos and add comments to the good class ones. Comments should be about what the teacher is doing so one could identify activities/stages.

Thank you for your review, Tomasz. We certainly appreciate your detailed feedback. We are still finding many people around the world don't have easy access to the internet or still use Skype etc. We try to make sure that our courses cover this so that teachers have the tools to provide English lessons to everyone, no matter where they are in the world. We usually receive excellent reviews about our video observation course, which is especially enjoyed by new teachers, so this will certainly remain within our course content. You can be sure that I will pass on your feedback to our team though, as we will always look to improve our courses further. Thanks again, Tomasz

Intensive but thorough course. Some areas would be more effective with more video examples (teaching large classes and the telephone course). The example song (Be Happy) needs a review - there was too much slang in there, most of the lyrics were back up sound and it was very difficult to analyse it in terms of what was needed. The tutor support was excellent.

Pros - I do feel like I've upskilled. Also, everything worked smoothly ie. LMS, tutor ect. Con - Felt the course material sometimes spent time covering 'common sense', instead of useful information.

This course has been easy to follow and track progress. The videos and seeing actual teachers implementing the practices have been most helpful for me to get an idea of how to practice what I’ve learned.

Having finally decided to take the plunge and take a TEFL course, I investigated options available. The TEFL Org website was full of information and, having looked around a while, I opted to take their course for 188 hours (including a weekend face to face practical course). There's a lot to get through but my Assessor was amazingly quick and helpful. Although I have been working in education for many years, I learned a lot and bought 2 of the plan packages to help kick things off. I think that TEFL.org is very professional and effective. If I was to change anything at all, it would be to have one or two live videos of larger groups and perhaps some more references to help with the assignments. (Whether back to course points or external sites).

Excellent course. Lots of assignments which help you understand what you are learning , and the tutors are great for marking on time and feeding back where I could have done better. With the chance to improve and not just fail. I really got to understand how it is to teach English. Well worth the money and time.

Hi, I have just successfully passed my 120 hour Premier Online TEFL after 3 weeks of intensive studying. I can highly recommend the course, I never got bored and was always very keen to keep going! The material is excellent, there is a lot of variety: different teachers, regular quizzes, plenty of interesting and sometimes very entertaining videos and most of all, really useful and relevant content. Well worth it !!!

The TEFL course was extremely informative and I like the use of video teaching and I love how the course shows you examples of how to teach adults and young learners. My Tutor Asif has been absolutely amazing and he gave detailed feedback on my assignments and helped me if I was struggling. Couldn’t recommend this course more.

The course was really helpful for learning English and I especially think the grammar section was delivered well. It should be modernised though to consider language learning platforms like Preply iTalki etc.

I just finished the 120-hour course with a virtual weekend class, and the virtual weekend class was by far the best part of the experience. I haven't taken any other TEFL certificates to compare this to, but the course materials are unnecessarily long-winded, occasionally contradictory, and scattered with typos. Assignments were confusingly laid out. I felt like I was fighting against the course structure sometimes. They package up short modules like Business English and Large Classes into the larger certificate, but these contain almost no useful information (certainly nothing you can't find from free resources). I wish I hadn't had to sign up for these to get the certificate. The Grammar and Methodology (and some of the Video Observation) modules have a lot of information, albeit laid out in a way that can be hard to take notes from, but I would mostly recommend the live course. You get a chance to deliver a lesson, observe others delivering lessons, and then get real-time feedback from a tutor. I did the live course after completing the asynchronous course, which I would recommend doing, as it gave me the chance to implement the teaching methodology I'd learned.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback about The TEFL Org! It's great to hear that you had such a positive experience in our classroom course. Our main courses certainly cover everything a teacher would need to help them step into their first class. We therefore cover many topics, such as teaching large classes, so our teachers can feel prepared in any classroom situation. This also ensures we follow a structure which meets the accreditation criteria. Thank you again for your feedback, and we wish you the very best of luck in your TEFL journey!
