“Alex was awesome. Very detailed in feedback and provided additional insights when grading assignments. This helped immensely throughout the course. In terms of areas of improvement, I think some of the section intro videos for the TEFL method were unnecessary. They did not always contain content previewing what the upcoming content will cover, rather just intros that can be skipped.”

“The online course was good and informative. It gives you an idea of what to expect and how to prepare for different types of situations as an English teacher. “The overall course was very good and challenging. You only have three chances on a final exam on the 200 hour course. The instructions state to contact someone at the support center if you have questions between the second and third try. It was not made clear this would only be one person specifically assigned to you, and thus it might take a day, or it might take a weeak, or they might never respond. This part of the course was very frustrating. Not being able to have a conversation except through email or chat when you think you understand a concept, but can't convey that in writing and need to talk it through is a downfall of the course. Otherwise the format is great.”

“Overall, I am grateful for everything TEFL offers. I appreciate that it is a self paced course, and that it's a 6 month investment, which feels much more "palatable" than embarking on a 1-2 year endeavor. I enjoyed the recordings of actual lessons being taught by TEFL tutors, as I happen to be an auditory AND visual learner, so it was really helpful to see things like a PPP lesson put into practice. I like that everyone gets assigned a tutor, as you have a touchstone throughout the process. Having said that, I'd have loved the opportunity to connect with someone "live" from time to time, to answer and/or clarify areas of confusion. I also found myself a bit frustrated with some of the Qs in the quizzes, as there were sometimes oddly phrased questions, that felt nebulous, or like a trick question. This wasn't ALL the time, but enough for me to take notice. Also, I'd have liked a larger maximum word count on the assignments, as it was hard to articulate my ideas fully, and I often spent an inordinate amount of time trying to rework things, simply to get the word count down. To that end, my time could have been spent more usefully. Lastly, something I find myself wanting now that I've finished, is the opportunity to "shadow" a TEFL tutor during a virtual session. I am someone who has a career outside of my interest in teaching English, and a great deal of my work is over Zoom and Google Meet, so I'd love to be able to see "live" what it looks like to teach English virtually. Perhaps -- moving forward -- being allowed to join a Zoom meeting btwn. a Tutor and a student would be a great option for recent TEFL grads.”

“The TEFL course was hugely informative and makes use of plenty of resources to draw upon and the marking and feedback is very useful. It could sometimes perhaps use a bit more colour and some more visual stimulus just to maintain interest. Marking was generally very quick and handy, however sometimes rules aren’t always clear. For example, I had to pay for an extension while waiting for my last course to be marked as it hadn’t come through before my deadline. This was rather annoying!”

“Program was good. Iearned a lot. Few things : It was challenging to write an assignmet with limited words, espcially when you need to write a lesson plan. Some of the questions on the graded quiz were really confusing, some of them could have more than one answer correct. I think the tutor should have access for retake the quiz and can give them too. chat box was great and very helpful. Thanks for everything Yael Eisenstadt”

“I thought the course content and quizzes were slightly challenging for a native English speaker like me. My only issue was with the assignments. I felt that there could've been a more precise breakdown of the ppp format. I'm saying this as to avoid many failed attempts.”

“The course was really helpful! Some of the material, for example, the videos, were a little dated but the methods and the information provided is timeless and very useful regardless. The course is short but concise and I ended up transfering the skills I learnt from the course directly to my lessons straight away.”

“Overall, it was excellent, and I was very satisfied—especially with the methodology section. The course was quite diverse, including explanations, lesson texts, and even educational videos, which made it more interesting for me. The best part was that some lessons, instead of long texts, were presented in a multiple-choice format, which helped me learn better. The grammar section could have been more comprehensive and covered more topics. I would also like to thank the supervisor, who was always available to answer my questions and continuously supported me. Overall, I was really satisfied. Thank you TEFL org”

“I really enjoyed the TEFL course and I felt that it provided me with a real kick start to teaching English. I felt that the in-person weekend was incredibly valuable and that it was well worth completing. I felt that the online course was great, the only problem that I had with it was that the feedback that I recieved from some of the assignemnts didn't really reflect my coursework. It felt slightly watered down and overgeneralised. For my final assisgnment the feedback had actually been copied directly from a different assisgnment and the rest of the feedback for that section included promoting another course to complete. Whilst useful it didn't provide me with appropriate feedback.”

“As a teacher for over 20 years, I am wondering if there is a more advanced course? For example, I know how to write lessons and to discipline children/manage behavior. Also, I easily passed most of the assignments, but there is one I had to redo 4 times, and the tutor/teacher asked me to use a specific resource and then even marked it wrong. This was frustrating. Some of the things are either super specific to TEFL, have another name in education (lecture vs presentation) or are very British and not American. Also the woman with the Scottish accent (maybe is Northern England? Wales?) is hard to understand in the videos.”

“I feel I gained a lot of knowledge that will prepare me to teach an ESL class. I enjoyed most of the courses, especially the video demonstrations and the students and instructors in them. However, I did struggle with the lesson plan assignments. I think was confused by the students’ level of understanding in the videos - perhaps it was higher than pre-intermediate, the level that I was planning a lesson for? Regardless, it was still a very well structured course. Thank you.”

“Your courses were indepth and covered a very wide swath of examples through videos. I tended to read the transcripts more than watch, but enough so that I was able to get a good idea of presentation. I wish we knew what happened to the students. :). The feedback on the end of unit assignments were helpful but I wished there was more of an interaction between the me and the tutor. Perhaps the tutors are quite busy. Now that the course is over, there is nothing that compares with actually doing it and I am rather at a loss in how to proceed. Today I sent in an application to a local ESL school on a volunteer basis. There were some inconsistencies in spellings within the course: Course Book or coursebook? Plus, the UK English is a bit different in pronunciation, of course. But the one glaring error when one of the teachers said the brand name "NIKE". The CEO of Nike said it is pronounced "NIKEE" no matter where the speaker is from ('had to look that up). All in all I had a good time with the information and I am glad I took the course. Thank you.”

“This course gave me confidence in my exisiting knowledge of english grammar. Its foundational Teaching moduel was also quite rewarding. I now have good knowledge of how to structure a lesson plan, and what to look out for, when adapting the lesson plan for different situations. The other three modules felt not as fleshed out as the main two, and I didn't feel I gained as much from them, I understand they were only 10-hour taster courses.”
