“Most of the units were excellent giving superb instruction. Some were a bit long and boring to watch. but overall very well worth doing. I have only just completed my course and not applied for any work yet. The result of the course is whether i am able to get a good job with the qualification gained.”

“Tutor was super helpful and quick to mark assignments, course overall was very interesting and easy to follow however the videos and editing style seemed rather outdated and old. Could really do with updating to a more modern style of editing where hair etc isn’t cut off due to poor green screening. With it been such a long course the videos get quite tedious with them been like that. But the course itself was super helpful and well organsied.”

“Overall I liked the course and found the methodology module to be particularly comprehensive and useful. The course is well organised and easy to follow and the assignments felt very in-line with the material covered. My main criticm is that the demonstration classes used never varied in size, age or ability- it was always the same 8 students. It would have been useful to see more examples and how lesson delivery is adpated to adjust. Also, during the teaching-writing portion of the methodoly module, the students were in a classroom without any tables which felt unrealistic, unpractical and unadapted for the purpose of that portion of the module. The materials also, at times, felt outdated. For example the telephone teaching module. It would be great if this was updated with a focus on zoom, google meets, preply etc.”

“all concepts are great, but a few topics did not give proper explanation.such as adjective words in order, still dont have a clue at all. the videos should allow the students to rewind. expecting we are using different contents.”

“I enjoyed the course, even though there was a break in my studies due to personal issues. I found the grammar modules, in particular, very comprehensive and easy to take in. Overall, the video clips were well done—though perhaps the transcripts could be presented better. Multiple choice quizzes largely had the right complexity, though some were virtually write-ins. The written assignments were sufficiently challenging, and the built-in means to submit them is well implemented (built-in formatting and word-count). Whilst I didn't avail of any assistance from my tutor, Arthur, it was reassuring to know it was available. His feedback on the assignments was helpful The course was certainly worthwhile participating in and good value for money. The knowledge gained should form a solid foundation for my TEFL career. Many thanks to all contributors and support staff (who dealt with queries warmly and efficiently)”

“The course was great. I learnt alot about English grammar and considerations when teaching. Tutor feedback was helpful. I am not sure an entirely online course is the best preparation for actual classroom teaching, but I hope confidence in the classroom will be quick to come. Overall, a good course, with an option to extend if you run out of time. Thank you.”

“On the whole I enjoyed the course; the grammar and methodologies modules were very thorough and quite intensive. I also found the teaching large classes and telephone teaching modules were useful to me, having never taught via telephone and being used to working one to one with my students in my current role. However I found the video observation module to be tedious, pointless and (being completely honest) quite patronising. Both the videos and the assignments attached to that module felt like a massive waste of time for anybody with a decent dose of common sense. I feel that there was no benefit to this module and it did not enhance my learning in any way. My assignments were marked quickly by my tutor and feedback was always useful, although there was one particular comment that seemed to go against what I had learnt on the module. On the whole though it was very much appreciated. I used live chat to solve a query regarding my email address too, which was quickly rectified using this method. I did try to use the customer service email address first though and got no response.”

“The overall experience with TEFL has been really good, especially the really useful feedback from my tutor, Alex, on my various assignment submissions. The feedback and the assignments helps to build your teaching portfolio before you've even started being a teacher! The course was easily manageable alongside my part-time role. The last star could be gained with some newer videos and making sure that the final tenses in the Grammar module are taught with more care. For example, the future perfect (simple) units mention how it's a difficult tense, but then such a short amount of time is dedicated towards it. Maybe that's the balance that needs to be managed with the course being 'just' 120hrs and because this tense isn't used all that often, but I still felt more confused on that particular tense than I would have liked.”

“Overall I enjoyed the journey of learning 120 hours TEFL. As working as a part-time professional, I broke down the hours to fit my schedule and made sure that I would learn and apply the knowledge from the course. I liked the most quiz and assignments. If anything, I would like to suggest that some videos could be animated or up-to- date. I would recommend this course to family or friend as it helped me secure a job as online English tutor once I completed it.”

“I think the 200-hour Online Level 5 Course is great. Here are few thoughts for improvement: - Including tips on teaching dyslexic students - I have read that some employers would like potential candidates to have both a teaching certificate AND a certificate in English fluency. I intend to be my own employer, but for those seeking employment, I wonder if this certificate will suffice. I mean, how can one possibly passthos course without mastering English?”
