“I thought the course was good, easy to navigate and consisted of good material. However I feel there could have more of an interaction in regards to practising the material with a tutor one on one. I don't feel confident to start teaching yet.”

“TEFL.org provides a fairly efficient and easy-to-grasp course, with a variety of content and a tonne of useful information. With a fair amount of videos and quizzes, the assignments are varied and kept interesting, hopefully keeping the student motivated to continue with each course. Some of the courses may feel a little drawn out or repetitive, but TEFL.org combats this by providing great support from the tutors.”

“Overall great experience. I was already proficient with the English language but was able to learn more of its intricacies than I expected. Simon was the virtual class tutor and he was fantastic; not only did I learn how to efficiently teach this language, but also learnt how to be a better teacher in general. “I thoroughly enjoyed the course though found it very brain taxing at times. I found the site a bit difficult to navigate and get information downloaded. I have tried to download the rest of my coursework today but the site has disappeared, although it should be live till tomorrow please tell me how to access the rest of my work.”

“I am very pleased with the quality of the courses on my full TEFL course. I think they were engaging and provide very interesting ideas as well as methodology that really helps you to grow as a teacher. There were some things in this course that were new to me and that I recently just learned. I really appreciated the videos where you could see the dynamics between students and the teacher in a real life classroom. It helps one to visualize how you yourself can apply it to your own learning environment. Overall it was a very good course and I learned a lot, however I will say that around December it was a bit hard to get a hold of my tutor. I understand that there might be a lot of students assigned to my same tutor and that he might have a lot of workload too and probably that's why he took so long to respond to me. But I was getting worried I might not get my certificate on time because I needed it before December was over for work purposes. It wasn't until I contacted TEFL directly telling them that I really needed my tutor to respond back so I could submit my final assignment that my tutor responded back. I had emailed my tutor twice and he didn't respond back until I contacted TEFL. It was a bit frustrating. Other than that, communication and timing was great. “I really enjoyed the course, it was challenging but also providing enough content and guidance to learn and understand the methods and concepts. The videos can be quite long and hard to maintain focus, I prefer the shorter videos. My tutor was very helpful and offer contrastive criticism as well as highlighted what I did well in assignments. Overall a great course and good value.”

“I bought the 120-hour package while it was on sale ($200 something), and I think it was worth it for the sale price. In this day and age, you need a TEFL certificate to even be considered for a job abroad so this was a good option as I don't have over $500 to spend on the other websites you see advertised by YouTubers. The grammar course is by far the most helpful followed by the methodology course. I took extensive notes on both of these courses and they will be helpful in the long run; I think these two courses make the price worth it. The three remaining courses are fine, but I felt like I just had to get through them simply to get my certificate. The video observation course is the most helpful out of the three. There are multiple quizzes included in each course/unit and some of them felt unnecessary. Except for the grammar course, the quiz answers were either very obvious or felt subjective. So, overall the quizzes didn't add much to the experience. Some of the video demonstrations run for 40 minutes, so prepare some popcorn in advance. Be prepared for most of the videos to be awkward and outdated; you'll notice in the short demo videos that the tutor is obviously reading from a script behind the camera, which isn't that big of a deal but for being an accredited and pricey (for some) course, the videos should probably be better rehearsed so they feel more professional. My personal tutor was Stephen and he was amazing. He returned my work with detailed feedback within 48 hours or less, even during the holidays. He was overall great and very helpful. Overall, I'd give the site a 4 out of 5 for the somewhat awkward/outdated videos but I would 10 out of 10 recommend the 120-hour package for someone who is actually devoted to teaching English as a foreign language.”

“I liked the course, I found it informative and useful. However, I do think there needs to be some mini modules on the different levels, beginner through to advanced. I felt the course delivered the what, but not necessarily the how. I am going to go on to do the more advanced courses, come February. I hope that they deliver what I'm looking for. The course was a great start, but I still feel that I need more to start on my TEFL teaching journey.”

“I feel like my assigned tutor (ALEX) could have graded my work a lot faster. I feel like there were certain days where it was more than 48 hours for he/she to grade my assignments. Overall, everything else was fine.”

“I found the course pretty good, but the process of getting certified after the course is not. First off, I finished the entire course only to learn three weeks later that it wasn't done because not all of the pages were marked as "read". I marked them all as "read" in about five minutes. It's now been perhaps I week or two, and I still don't have any certificate. I would need to find out if I can even get any decent work with no degree and your certificate before I can really form an opinion.”

Now that you will have received your course completed email, you will normally receive your certificate within 2 weeks of this. Certificates for level 5 courses can take up to two weeks to process. “I wish there was a way that we could communicate better with the people correcting our work. Sometimes I really did not understand the feedback and I could not really talk to them to explain my answers. Also when you think outside of the box with activities they will correct you wrong which I do not understand. Overall was fine though. Also I wish there was a unit on how to mark things, this course was giving more how to tutor than be a teacher.”
