“I ordered a stem and saddle but the saddle was later deemed out of stock and delivery not due for 5 weeks. Instead of sending the post separately, they did nothing. However, when I phoned to question this, they acted promptly and I received the post as promised. Generally, I find the service very good but is somewhat behind Merlin, who I often use.”

“Received my order with incorrect part. Had to send part back before they would send out correct part. Had to chase up exchange of part and also had to chase up the credit for the postage charges for returning the initial part”

“Got a great deal on a Camelbal bag. Only issue is their comms are very poor - it takes them a week to proces the order for an in-stock item with no order update, no confirmation of despatch. Nothing. Only comms come from the shipping company after they have collected the order a week after you placed the order. Bit odd.”

“Found a spare part (a rechargeable replacement light for an ABUS helmet) that was seemingly sold nowhere else in the UK. Item took a week to arrive. Disappointingly, it didn’t exactly fit my particular ABUS helmet. That might be no particular fault of Swinnerton — the description of the spare was pretty curt, and other wordier (foreign) sites suggested it would be suitable. In the event, have managed to shoehorn it into my particular helmet by carving out the plastic a little. So a success of sorts — but next time I might call ahead for advice.”

“Phone contact and customer service was excellent and a delivery dates issue that I had was dealt with straight away. On the other hand, if you need to build some wheels, buying spokes is a bit fraught and potentially prohibitively expensive. I understand there might be a supply problem with DT Swiss Spokes, but I felt there was some advantage-taking going on. Swinnerton have available a good range of lengths, but they are only available in boxes of a hundred and they have to be pre-ordered with a wait of up to several weeks (which, to be fair, they clearly state). I needed to build a pair of road wheels. This means (if you're doing it properly), I should have ordered three different lengths. This was not possible because I wasn't prepared to spend around £200 for three hundred spokes when I only needed sixty four. It is usually still possible to build excellent wheels using just two lengths, but again, I wasn't prepared to fork out for two hundred spokes either. I was forced therefore to order a single box of a hundred. This meant over half the spokes had their threads slightly visible on the finished wheels and thirty six of them never got used. Having visible threads never looks great and it doesn't make for the strongest wheels either. Also, slightly surprised that nipples are being sold separately. When I was building wheels for a living, nipples came in the boxes!”

“Good price for some spare parts for my trek bike, however let down by high postage cost (£6 for a postable item) and very slow dispatch with no emails to update on the process. Swinnerton were quick to respond to my email query however.”

“I bought a Brooks tensioner bolt at a reasonable price, but the courier delivery almost tripled the cost, when it could feasibly have been sent as basic letter post. Won't be doing that again!”

“The service was good. The correct item was dispatched promptly. But the £6 delivery charge for what is basically a nut and bolt was rather steep when it could have been sent in a small jiffy bag for a £1 or so.”

“Good stock list, good prices. Took two weeks from my order to dispatch though. Then FedEx left with a neighbour and wouldn’t say where. Raised a request with Swinnerton asking what their policy was in this situation and hadn’t heard back a week later… so perhaps not best to use if you’re in a hurry”

“The first two orders I placed with Swinnerton Cycles were flawless; website detailed the items were in stock, order placed, dispatch made within a 24/36hrs and goods received via FedEx. I would have scored the review higher if it were not for the lack of communication on the third order I placed. I appreciate that the items I ordered are new and in limited supply. I placed my order in good faith as the website said it was in stock and available. My order was acknowledged and my car debited. However, since then I have not received any further communication as to when I can expect to receive the goods. The website is now stating that the goods are pre-order only and not available until late Jun-23. I have received no communication from Swinnerton Cycle Customer Service team to acknowledge that although the website said the goods were in stock, the item has sold out and my order is on back order with an estimated delivery date.”

“Happy with the product but not with the length of the delivery. I expected better for £6 delivery charge. Ordered something from Sigmasports the same day as this order and that turned up in 2 days before the bank holiday. The issue was caused by the item needing to be shipped from their warehouse (or at least that was what I was told) before it could be shipped to me. If I'd known that I would have gone elsewhere.”
