We had excellent service from this company last summer with the tiles for our hall. So much so that we splashed out and ordered a large quantity of the same material for our kitchen. I don’t know if Stone Deals have changed their delivery agent but this time was horrendous; insolent, disrespectful and ignorant staff member at the courier company who didn’t listen, failed to acknowledge our communication and the result (apart from the fact that we will never use stone deals again) is that we were left several hundred pounds out of pocket having paid workmen to wait around for delivery. It’s the first time I’ve ever made such a serious complaint and been met with the ‘it wasn’t our fault, it was the delivery agent’ response from the person I paid my money to. Seriously unimpressed

Hello Ms Berends We again apologise on behalf of the 3rd party hauliers. We do however feel the need to kindly point out that our response being quoted in your review is not being communicated within context. This wording is not entirely accurate and is a small section of our several responses to you when tryine to ensure you recieve your delivery at the earliest possible opportunity. As you may (or may not) be aware, we had several e-mails between us and yourselves while dealing with the unfortunate delay of your order delivery, we also had several telephone conversations during this matter with your partner, Mr Berends, we apologised on several occasions, informing you and Mr Berends that we will do our best to ensure your order was delivered at the earliest possible opportunity and updated yourselves with the ongoing investigation and the progress of your order delivery. Our department manager also ensured that he did contact Mr Berends in person to ensure you (Mr Berends) was satisfied with the outcome after your order delivery was made to you at which point our department manager also informed Mr Berends that any lack of respectful behaviour by any 3rd party local depot staff is taken very seriously by us and the necessary steps will be taken by us and the central haulier hub management to proceed to a disciplinary action towards this particular member of staff. We thank you again for your order with us and respectfully and kindly highlight again that, we feel we have taken all the necessary steps in doing our best to deal with this issue for you. The sample I ordered was not delivered as expected. It came in the form of a small square one colour tile so did not represent what I needed to order. Regardless of this I tried to order on line 3 times but ended up making 3 phone calls to eventually succeed. The website initially wouldn’t allow me to enter a fraction of a square meter. Then it wouldn’t allow me to enter my credit card number. I was then told to ask for a quote and ended up paying over the phone. Now praying that the delivery matches the photo and description on the website.

Dear Sandra, Thank you for your review and feedback. Our sample tiles are generally in the format of 10x10cm. We understand that the samples are small to represent the whole tile, however it gives the idea of the texture and background colour. In regards to your order, the card payment company had a technical glitch at the time, we do apologise for any inconvenience. Your order is on its way and we hope that you will be happy with the product.

The tiles were very nice and delivered in good time, however, they were poorly packaged (8 split face tiles fit snugly in a cardboard box, with no protection whatsoever, not even a thin layer between tiles) meaning that when they arrived around 60 percent of the tiles were broken (only 9 out of 24 fully intact and some tiles were broken into many small pieces) I salvaged what I could and ended up adhering many of them small piece by small piece - luckily they were for a rustic outdoor kitchen, as they would have been no good on an interior wall. I would say I had to bin about 20-25 % of the entire order. In short, nice tiles, good service, but make sure you check your order before delivery person leaves - lesson learned here!

The tiles are ok, lots cracked and with glue on the front. Not impressed with delivery at all. Rude. Didn’t listen to me when they called me to arrange delivery. Didn’t call an hour before like they said they would. Didn’t wait when I got home so I could check the delivery. Terrible delivery company.

The Mosaic Tiles I ordered are wonderfull and your customer service is spot on, but I have had to mark the whole experience at a low level due to the extortionate Delivery Cost, I was charged £59 for delivery when I could have arranged it myself for under £20

Dear Customer Firstly we hope you are safe and well and thank you for your order with us. We use a third party haulage company that handle all our deliveries, when a postcode is provided to proceed to the next step of an order, all charges are given as a total cost of an order prior to making a payment and there are no hidden charges. The delivery charge is the same for 1 tile or 1 full pallet (1 ton).

The tiles were fine but the delivery was extortionate and the delivery man was incredibly unhelpful and just left my tiles in the middle of the road without helping me get them on the pavement at least

We received a mixture of two different tile lengths (300 & 305mm), two different surface finishes ( some highly polished, some not) and a few with bevelled corners. Stone deals did some replacements FOC. Overall - disappointed, but the tiles are cheap.

Stone deals themselves were very good, but the delivery company was pathetic, moaned about me not having a forklift truck to get the pallet off back of lorry then me having to help shunt all his pallets about to get to mine. Then getting it stuck and nearly tipping my delivery of tiles over. Needless to say when I eventually unloaded my pallet there was numerous broken tiles and missing goods,but contacted stone deals and supplied photos and they were very quick to replace the broken tiles and missing goods. The delivery it's self was also a day late after my wife had waited in the previous day and they had not turned up when arranged. when I returned home from work and realised they had not delivered I phoned them up and was told there had been an issue with the lorry in the morning and that they would not be coming that day, no phone call or anything to let me know until I rang them myself. Definitely a let down for stone deals as there tiles look fantastic when laid.

Hi, We do apologise for this, unfortunately in rare occasions the delivery companies which we subcontract, fail in what they are supposed to do and this looks bad on us. We are aware of this issue and we will be in touch once we gather more information.

We ordered sample through ebay and then telephoned to ensure that our following order was the same as the sample. At first we were told that the full order would be seconds if made through ebay but this was then corrected by email saying it would NOT be seconds. However, when the order arrived, it was labelled as ebay seconds- and sure enough it was!

I ordered some tiles and triggered payment through PayPal, then I was told you didn't have the tiles in stock although your web site did show you did. I now have to wait until stock arrives and the await delivery, tiler I had arranged had to be told he couldn't start. not happy!

Dear Customer, Thank you for your feedback. Our website does not do real time stock check. If we realise that an order is placed and there is no available stock, the customer is notified immediately. Than the customer has the option to cancel the order or wait for the new stock. In this case, the customer decided to wait. I ordered some silver shadow marble tiles back in August for our new bathroom. We didn't open them to use until 1.5 weeks ago as the whole house is being renovated. Once the builder started tiling to our surprise many of the tiles are not marble and we are not sure what material they are. The boxes have been mixed with tiles that you can break with your hands easily, also some have cracks in the middle and have been glued together. When one orders marble you expect it to be marble a natural stone which varies in colour certainly not what we have found. Not sure if I will get anywhere raising this with the Finchley shop where the order was places. I will certainly be contacting the consumer governing body to find out what action can be taken on this. When I order marble I expect all tiles to be marble. I would not recommend ordering from this company.

Dear Sarita, We are very surpised to hear that your builder believes that we supply fake marble tiles. We have asked the tiles to be returned to us so we can check the allegation however the builder already disposed the tiles so it is not possible for us to verify the problem. If you had reported this issue earlier and not disposed of the tiles, we would be able to rectify the issue.

I purchased more then 150 square meters from Stone deals for our entire house (apart from bedrooms) however, the customer service was good at first this is why I went back to them after finishing each room, as the products were ok and customer service was good. But when it came to the garden tiles and I told them This would be the last lot we will be buying as we finished our house renovation, they showed us their real face. First you have to check tiles by tiles while driver is waiting and report any damage to the driver and mention it on the recipe you sign and take pictures, otherwise, they reject any claim afterward. When I bought the exterior limestones tiles for the garden, they arrived completely different to the sample they sent to me, when I called them they said "this is the only exterior tiles we sell so it is what you ordered " I accepted that but when I checked them again the colour was not matching at all neither did the texture, there are so many holes and broken edges. I called them again they said use them on the corners when need cutting they should be fine, and they said just fill up the holes with grout! However, I suggest to our tiller to leave these imperfections ones to the last or hope we don't use them. But coming back from work the tiller was already finished the tiles and laid all as he has got the work as contract and wanted to finish it ASAP so he can move on. I called them and told them the situation hoped they will do something . They told me the representative will visit us to look at the tiles , this promise was weeks and weeks ago! but I've never heard back from them or apologise why they could not make it. However, Stone tiles might gained from my shopping with them, but they lost my recommendation to friends . I hate going to our garden or even look at it which I thought I will do up the garden so we will enjoy the outdoor but sadly it is not , as I remember the experience I went through with Stone Deals and the tiles are not to my expectations.
