I bought on line but when documents came through on email in minutes my surname was the same as my first name so rang straight away to be told I had to send proof my email of birth certificate to prove who I was which I thought was ridiculous so I canceled which I was allowed to do no problem without proof

Said i had a home start. I did not. £180.00 to me out and repair , of course was a no.

I have been with Start Rescue a good few years since the AA put their renewal up to £300. However we were NOT covered when I had no choice but to go through a flood, which subsequently stalled the engine. I had to get home by my husband towing me with our other car. This year pizza delivery cars and drivers are NOT COVERED for breakdown. USELESS

Hi startrescue.co.uk customer, we're sorry to find your comments, historically cutting out due to flood water was an exclusion under the policy, however, since August 2018 this is now a benefit we cover, within our policy wording you will find this scenario and the benefits provided. We're sorry on this occasion were unable to provide cover for couriering services, this is something that has always been an exclusion, however, this may be something we consider covering in the future. I really cannot rate Start Rescue. When my car broke down- outside of Start Rescue's working hours- the customer service agent could not find my account details and told me to call back during normal working hours. Unfortunately, when it comes to breakdowns, you cannot ensure that these will happen between 9am and 5pm, which meant that I had to spend a fortune to be towed by an alternative provider. Start Rescue was a complete waste of money for me and I would never use them again.

I would like to cancel my cover with start rescue, your service is appalling. I broke down this afternoon and went through the preliminary stages of hopefully being recovered. A technician arrived and agreed that he was unable to do anything, he then phoned your office to arrange recovery, this was not achieved and I have had to make alternative arrangements as three hours later no show. Your best offer was a removal of my scooter to a pound and I was to somehow make my way home. Completely unsatisfactory. I would like my money back please

Hi Christopher, we're sorry to find your comments, we can see you purchased a policy online where you have the option to opt-in or out of automatic renewal, we can see you stayed opted in. We can also see you were sent a renewal email reminder 30 days prior to your renewal. If you are dissatisfied that your policy has been renewed and you want to cancel then you do have a 14 day cooling off period from 17th August 2022 where you can claim a full refund providing no claim has been made. Emergency assistant LTD is a lot cheaper than yours. Got quote for my 2 cars and total £81.43. we paid for this year £91 and it was after 2nd car discount. We have been with you quite some time and felt been cheated by you. Next year we will look around. I would give you no star at all if I could.

I do not remember asking you to automatically renew my insurance without offering me the opportunity in advance to consider renewing I am not happy and will be contacting the insurance ombudsman on this matter

I have renewed with you this time but will not be doing in the future as you make your existing customers feel like they are getting a bargain but actually they are not . My husband was with you also but he as gone elsewhere as he as got everything the same as I get but for £25.00 and I’ve just paid £40 and some pence for mine and I’ve been a customer for quite a few years now so loyalty obviously means nothing . But I will be joining him next year
