The black ink should work on red fabric, I think the reason why it's not working on the socks is because of the weave. Unfortunately if there is a weave in the fabric or the fabric is bumpy the ink won't work so well :(

We are delighted that you think that your Stamptastic Stamp Set is an excellent product and hope we have saved you lots of time now you no longer need to sew or iron on labels into school uniform. In regard to the black square, that sometimes happens when you press down too hard, so we would suggest having a go but pressing a little lighter. Unfortunately we can't guarantee that the ink works on plastic as different manufacturers use different coatings on their plastics.

“Great product. Instructions would be nice - with hints tips. Eg do you recommend tapping the ink pad onto the stamp or "dipping" the stamp into the ink pad for best results ?
