“I purchased the System Reference 4 software and the reference mic. It is great, and the eq correction makes a significant difference. My only issue was a weird software bug during the measurement. Probably the speaker distance was not perfectly accurately measured, and when the last step was executed, the mic location on different spots could not be handled properly. It was like an infinite loop, the software never told that it identified the spot corrdctly.”

“Brilliant software. I do not like that it resets every time I start my computer so I have to constantly go through a lot of steps to choose the right audio driver. It should just be default to that and remember the settings. Besides that I love it and use it all the time!”

“Software/plugin seems to work pretty well. I admit I am not a professional mixer, but after using it almost exclusively for a mix I was working on, it seems to get me a lot closer to where I want to be when I check it on other devices (larger monitors, native computer speakers). I do still find myself tweaking after checking the mix against those other devices, as certain things sound louder/softer/further away/closer in the headphones vs. monitors, but Reference 4 seems to get me much closer. Different headphones also make a difference as I have two models they make a preset 4 and have tried them both and they don't sound the same even with the plugin/correction applied.”

“I bought a new desktop computer to replaced the old one I have. My question is it possible for me to download the apps. to my new computer and if so, how am I going to do it. My apologies since I am not savy with the computer. I'll appreciate if you can reply with my question. Thanks.”

“I'm glad I finally purchased True-Fi. Looking forward to trying it out on the iPhone version then it will be available. The only thing I wish it had was a way to set correction amount. My ATH-MSR7 are not flat at all and I kind of not really like the sound in either Enabled or Disabled. I think that midway is the setting I’m missing. I’m not having this problem with my Bose QuietComfort 25 though. Perhaps my ATH-MSR7 differs from the measured pair.”

“A game changing app, not just for the studio but to enhance the way music sounds by flattening the frequency response even on crappy headphones thus producing a more accurate representation of the recorded sound. A very valuable alternative to sound proofing. Nothing will get you closer to the sound of a professional pair of studio monitors and an accoustically treated room. I gave it 4 stars only because I'm giving it 5 stars when the IOS app is released.”

“This is my second crack at the review process. I'm flattered :) I still like it a lot and use it all the time, and recommend it highly. I do notice the odd 'glitch', a bit of interruption, once in a while. I'm hoping that this 'bug' will be addressed in he future. I believe it's Sonarworks as it never happened previously and doesn't happen when I defeat it to use my ESP 950 system. BTW ... will you be doing a 950 setup at any time? Also ... it would be extremely convenient to have the capability to store more than four headphones in my list. I think that's it, for now ;) Thanks !”

“I recently purchased Reference 4 with calibrated mic and a pair of calibrated headphones. I'm very happy with the product overall, however I do have this feedback to give. If systemwide and the plugin version could do one extra thing it would be this: address the multiple outputs on my audio interface with the appropriate correction i.e. apply the headphone correction to the headphone output channels and likewise the monitor correction for the main monitor outputs (likewise for those of us who have multiple sets of monitors). I'm sure you're already aware of this, and it is likely a limitation on the OS side, but I'd like to see it nonetheless and would be happy to help lobby Apple etc. through any necessary petitions and so forth to make this happen. Understandably, this could incur some additional system latency, but I was happy with the way Sonarworks addressed the latency issue with linear phase correction vs. latency free i.e. giving us users the choice and clearly outlining the pros and cons for each method. Not only would the workflow be smoother, but the perceived listening experience would be vastly improved. This is to say for e.g. avoiding not having to hear your monitor cal when playing headphones or vice versa accidentally, even if only for a split second until you change over, distracts and displaces the ear and the listening experience.”

“great software . a must for any project /homes studio that suffers from a lack of treatment. The difference is pretty dramatic. Using the profile for my headphones allows me to work late without compromise and this has also been terrific for all my computer based media.”

“Getting great results using Sonarworks meaning that my mixes are transferring much better across different platforms. The new x-curve profile is very useful but what would be really great would be to have more profiles of different tv speakers and various smaller speakers that cover a lot of listening situations. A fantastic mixing/listening tool overall and Systemwide is a great addition. I don't ever turn Reference 4 off by this stage Cheers”

“You can hear the improvement but the measurement software has crashed a few times and I haven't found any benefit yet from using their measurement microphone instead of one I already owned. Often have to fiddle with sound preferences to resolve audio issues as the software keeps switching itself on. Not sure I needed the upgrade.”
