This review is regarding True-Fi. I bought it and initially liked it (although my headphone model, the ATH-ADG1X wasn't supported). I wanted to get my friends opinion on it so they downloaded the demo and none of them liked the sound. They thought the vocals sounded weak even though the bass was better. This makes a lot of sense when looking at the headphone curve which has a 10db boost at 10k which I'm guessing isn't an accident by the headphone manufacturer. So my thoughts are that flat is good for studio engineers but not for music consumers (not all the time at least), so why not add an option to personalize the curve more than just bass and age? How about a wet/dry so to speak that can make it 20% more flat or 80% more flat or maybe multiband correction so I can flatten out my lows while keeping my highs the way they were? Also, these days a lot of people use their headphones for games as well so being able to boost headphones in the footsteps frequencies while reducing the rifle shot areas would open up a whole new market for you. Also I'm not sure I understand the difference between systemwide and tru-fi.

VERY Impressive tool. It would score excellently were it not for the most headache inducing awful piece of software that is Systemwide. It does not play otgether with my operating system at all. In fact writing this review motivates me to uninstall Systemwide and only use the plugin...

The product makes an actual difference. I'm not a tech so I can't appreciate if the EQ setting makes my headphone (Sennheiser HD 598SE) more suitable for studio mixing. What I'm sure of is that I prefer the original EQ response without the SW software. Notice that I play bass and that my headphone is of the open type. Also the filter didn't apply to some softwares I use (notably Line6 Gear Box) so it's not really universal. I don't intend to say that the SW software is not good or doesn't keep to its promise, for me it didn't work for my needs and personal taste. Hence my request for a refund that was performed almost instantly. Final note: the support for the product is top class.

The product itself is absolutely great. I use the headphone version since V.3. And that is exactly the point why I only give an "acceptable" rating... Why the upgrade V3 to V4 is charged ? There is nothing new for the "headphone version" users.

Pretty good software. A little expensive...

So, here's the thing about this software...if their measurements are accurate, and if the corrections are implemented correctly (two very big IFs), then I would say the software is about 50% successful. I have six sets of headphones/earphones that are in the software's list of those measured and corrected. The three lower-end models are very slightly improved, and the three upper-end ones are made much worse. The three that are slightly improved, while more even overall, suffer from too much correction and sound "off". Flatter, certainly, but also somewhat less natural. If you are adept at using APO equalization software, the same results can be had for free.

I.m not using High-fi in a studio or anything... I have a pair of Sennheiser 650 and 700. I use it through my computer with Plex or to play a game and it crashes a fair amount. I have to load it before each activity and close it when I am done or it crashes. I can not go from playing a game to plex or vise versa or it crashes. When it is working it is truly a difference maker but as it is right now its kind of a hassle.

This is a great piece of software but it occasionally makes the computer crash this needs to be dealt with

I like the concept, but I don't believe it's accurate. It's in the right direction but changes the headphones far too much. I think I get good results using 20% mix of the sonarworks modification.

I use the DT 1990 PRO (analytic ear pads), and if I choose the appropriate preset wich should sound more balanced, it isn't really the case. the bass for example is way overhyped. I compared it with multiple sources, headphones and speaker I know. The Idea of the Application is one of the greatest things i've heard in years (and at the same time so simple). but I think in my case it won't do the job without shipping and individual calibration. Another downer is, you always have to remind to deactivate the plugin when bouncing. this is a thing you easy forgot, if you have to work fast in multiple DAWs for a Job, and always one step more to do. you don't have the problem with the systemwide app, but the latency there isn't acceptable for me.

Updated from reference 3 to reference 4 but had to send a number of emails without reply. I had lost my license key and needed it for today's process. They still sent info emails. Eventually got a response but took several weeks.

Hi, My apologies for the delayed response! We're usually responding to the submitted support tickets within 24 hours (except weekends). We get a little overwhelmed at times due to the fast growing customer base, but a delay of several weeks is very uncharacteristic and suggests your ticket got lost in the system somehow. Please make sure you're addressing your inquiries to support@sonarworks.com, or submit your ticket here: https://sonarworks.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new Kārlis S. Sonarworks support team

Works well. When changing interfaces, I use an RME babyface and UFX, it doesn't remember the settings from each interface. Requiring manually going into settings each time I change.

there doesn't seem to be enough support for how to use the product. there is plenty for how to install it but no videos on how to actually use it in the DAW which is a shame cos i don't know if i'm putting the right settings to get the best out of the product. personally feel this component needs a lot of work.

To be honest not big changes from what I had before installing SonarWorks, when I do the bypass you feel almost no difference. My time to try the purchase has passed so there is not much I can do. Regards.

the software is ok but there is no update function in the menu in case there're new phones are available. Moreover the headphones database is not up to date, so the company most likely will charge the customer with update naming the version 4.1 or 4.2 you should pay for. This is not the modern standard. I want to buy a new pair of headphones but I can't use this soft because it so far behind.

Очень большие вопросы по поводу коррекции на верхних частотах. По низу довольно точно. Но по верху, думаю, сильно ошибается ваша технология(( и чем выше, тем сильнее... буду еще делать тесты, замерять в разных конфигурациях..... пока так...

Improves my Ultrasone. Do not like it with my Sennheiser HD800S. Interface is poor and the app quits often when used with Audirvana. Need DSD support. The app's success depends on its list of supported headphones.
