“I have dt pro 880 not so able to mix with them in general there is no doubt that Sonarworks does help a lot but still it is not good enough for me sorry”

“We are delighted with our purchase, along with the time it took to receive the product. While we still have a ton to learn, we feel that the first couple of mixes we did with Sonarworks are better. We have had two other folks listen, and they had positive feedback on the overall mix quality.”

“i think it is a great tool! I give me a new point of view. understanding better my mixing room. I work with 3 different monitor systems and 2 different pairs of headphones. in the beginning Ii was quite strange. I like the different presets...NS11, pc, smartphones....I am still in the "learning "understanding passage, but I think that in the future it will be a great tool. My speaker's sound much more precise and less "beautiful "...it made the measurements not with your mic, because I still have my measurement mic, wich I u used all the last 15 years for different live and theatre apples.the art is to make a got ratio between ears and a software. for me it didn't work to encode my measure mic (I have no data file) . my second problem was the update process .I is not clear ....i recommend Sonarworks:) best regards from belgium”

“Bought a update for Reference 4, SoundID Reference for Headphones. UI quite good, but annoyingly tray icon (Win10) does not show, is blank. Overall UI is some areas more clear than before, but on some areas a bit confusing. I guess I just have to get used to it. Soundwise excellent as always. Some minor clicks are more or less gone. I recommend SoundID, but if you are happy with Ref 4, update is not a must.”

“I've had Reference 4 for a while and was happy with it. Now SoundID Reference came out and I purchased it, because Reference 4 seamed to have small issues always again. Also no VST3 without asking the support. Now the new features of SoundID Reference are great, the design looks good and it works. But somehow even a bit less stable than Reference 4. For example it says "Not able to switch presets" somtimes. With Reference 4 I did a right click on the icon in the taskline -> quit and restarted it again. Fixed. With SoundID there's no icon. Further the VST Plugin didn't get the calibration files of the systemwide app. Had to add it manually. I think it are all small problems, but all together annoying. I just would like to concentrate on making music with flat sound - what it does perfectly! But not completely stable.”

“I'm very impressed with Sonarworks SoundID Reference for Headphones. I'm using the "Wired Average" calibration for my AKG271 MKII headphones and the sound is magnificent in it's clarity and honesty. Only issue I have is that I cannot use it in real time whilst recording in Logic Pro X, due to the latency. I have to record without the SoundID Reference loaded and then only load it to mix and master.”

“The latest update is a huge improvement over the first release , that was not usable for me . I love the custom eq curves as I find the flat just a tad bright(speakers). I liked the layout of the original Sonarworks for switching between headphone and speakers but I do not use the headphone calibration as it is so different from the room calibration , I have the Shure srh840 headphones and use the generic calibration , but I would think they would be in the ball park of my speaker calibration, I do trust the speaker calibration as it translates well. I mostly use a hardware eq on my speakers as I want to hear what my instruments sound like as far as mic placement and dealing tones , like on guitars but for sure I check with Sonarworks on the finished product . If Sonarworks had a hardware version , I would buy :)”

“I currently use Sound ID Reference after previously using Reference 4 (both for headphones). The product is obviously a good one and I think most people would be pleased with the sound they get. I don't notice any improvement to the sound itself from the old to the new, just increased controls available. My only real complaint is the slowness in adding new headphone models to the database. The Focal Clear Mg's have been out for quite a while now and there is still no profile for them. They are sufficiently different from the previous Clear's that they need their own profile and I requested one when they first came out but still nothing. I also think the support pages on the website are very lacking in helpful information.”

“The Software itself is amazing! My mixes are translating way better after implementing the Sound ID in my workflow. If my monitors and headphones came from the store sounding as they sound now with Sonarworks, they would definitely cost 3 times more. Obviously it is due to room problems that this happens, but you can get the point. However, and that is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, after a recent update, the system-wide app became very unstable, a lot of times I just can't open it. I tried everything you can find inside the support section of their website, but there are only short-term 'workarounds'. I hope that they figure it out soon. PS. There is a section in the page I am writing this review that asks 'How quick did the company reply to your queries?'. I will leave it blank, since I still haven't heard back from them.”

“I wish there was a user manual, or video showing what ALL the function settings and user preferences actually do with a description of what some of the setup functions do. The video you have out at the moment does not go through them completely, or bypasses some of the module's of the program.........otherwise, I am really happy with the software and would have given my review five stars!”

“The software is great for headphone correction, but when I use it on the computer in general all the volume keeps getting softer and I have to keep correcting the audio. This is the only problem that I have found. Maybe you could correct this in your next upgrade.”

“Great company that try to help sound professionals. Their SoundID works very good in a music studio with speakers. But it works less good when you are constantly switching monitor setup between speakers and headphones. Sometimes I get unsure which programs send their sound through SoundID and it could be a smoother integration with the Mac OS11.”

“Good company, with go-to products. In the fifth iteration they added the simulation profiles which are pretty useful. If they implement an overall systemwide correction even at DAW opened, it would be great.”
