“Very good. It would have been five stars if the raw plugs provided were of better quality and had been suitable for the job of fixing into a masonry wall using a size 7 drill as specified, and holding the rail securely.”

“Seems fine yet to be fitted. Plenty of screws if quite large and brackets ok. Poor delivery system. ( not necessarily your fault but check on delivery supplier)”

“I’m pleased with the products, though I have yet to install them (it’s a tricky one requiring thought and experiment before making cuts). I’m much less pleased with delivery - the courier did not deliver in the day they promised. Some couriers deliver reliably in two hour windows, so to fail over a day simply won’t do.”

“Handrail has no instructions to assemble but is fairly easy to work out. The only issue was that 75mm screws were provided however the rawl plugs provided were 50mm ! Had to go buy my own. That aside would definitely use simple handrails again”

Hi Ian, Thank you for your review. It is a common DIY oversight that screws and plugs should be the same length. The screw should be always longer than the plug. There are videos of this on youtube if you get stuck and there are also installation instructions on our website. SimpleHandrails.co.uk

“I placed my order for three handrails which were all delivered promptly. When I tried to connect the brackets to the handrails, the spacing between the holes in the handrail was wider than the spacing between the holes in the bracket. I contacted Simple Handrails and have been advised that the wrong brackets had been sent by mistake. I've been told that replacement brackets have been dispatched. The error is unfortunate but the response and solution was very good.”

“The handrails and fixings are of good quality and my initial queries were dealt with politely and efficiently. Two areas for improvement are: 1. It would be helpful to your customers if a small centre hole was drilled at the ends of each rail to show where to screw the end cap plastic fittings. 2. Installation guidance was not supplied with the delivery. On request you efficiently supplied email guidance. Unfortunately this guidance was (in my view) incorrect and inadequate. If you need further input I will be pleased to give my views”

“There is just one thing that I was not happy with. I went to a lot of trouble to make 2 separate orders as the handrails were to go to different sites. They were both delivered to the same site and I have had to arrange transport for one of them to be moved. The driver also left a parcel for an unrelated address, which we have managed to redirect.”

“Very pleased with our dome ended stainless steel handrail and fittings. Was a bit more tricky to mount on our uneven wall than expected and certainly needed two of us to do it. But it's finally in place and looks great 👍”

“Very expensive for what is just a round pole, very disappointing. However, the managing director broke it down and I fully appreciate the costs and the small business they have and the ever escalating costs the face. Well done for your prompt courteous and detailed reply and I fully accept your response covers your value for money. The banister is nice now it is up and I wish you success for the future of the company.”

“A very good oak handrail at a competitive price - good company with a quick delivery. Only niggle is the plastic retainers that hold the stainless end caps and middle joint that have to be screwed on. Would have been much better if the wooden pole was routed and the endcaps and joint fitted over the pole - otherwise an excellent product.”

“We ordered the oak handrail at 3.5m and are very happy with the handrail. It's smart and looks great. There was a small mark on the rail but managed to hide it so no issue. The assembly was straightforward in the main and it was great that all the fixings were provided - they provide a firm fixing. It took just over a week for delivery which is what we were told when we bought. Happy with that. However, the brackets for fixing the rail to the wall are fiddly and took an age to get them lined up at the correct angle to take the bracket. This was slowed down by the tightening bolt being behind the wall plate meaning it had to be unscrewed each time to adjust. We had to drop a star as the delivery was woeful. The handrail was not left on a flat service and they didn't knock on my door, meaning it was left out in the rain for several hours bit luckily didn't bow. I would definitely use again!”

“Handrail was well wrapped but left out in the elements over our five-bar gate and the courier did not ring the door bell even. It was stood on its end and on unpacking has a slight warp which I am living with due to the age of our house”

“You are asking for a review from last week and still no banister and now you tell me it's loaded if it's loaded surely I will be delivered today I know thinks are hard just now but your communication with the customer is not good at all I can't get onto the tracking page I have had to do all the work to get help 3 weeks now and I'm still marking the time to email you and find the tracking and it's loaded and still might not get here for 2 more day so disappointed with your service Alma as my rail has been delivered now I'm am happy with my purchase well packaged and no faults thanks”

“The item was quickly delivered but with some damage. Fortunately the rail needs to be cut down so the area of damage will be removed to no lasting effect to the rail. Returning the rail and waiting for a replacement is not necessary in this case but I feel you Sheila know that the delivery company had not transported the rail carefully enough.”

“The rail is almost what I wanted. I did ask for it to be cut shorter, which was agreed but not done. I'm sure it was just a small oversight and we have cut it ourselves, so not a big problem. The end caps do not go over the ends of the wood as I expected but fasten up to the ends. Overall it's fine & looks good.”

“Overall very good design & construction & nicely finished. Only thing found little under design was plastic cap that screwed onto end of handrail & then pushed into fittings felt could have been little stronger as one of main jointing points although understand brackets designed to take main stress. Handrail could do with some final sanding but when colour extra chosen can be done before treatment. Great solution for your stairway design.”

“The rail arrived well packed within 3 working days of order. The mounting screws though long and strong enough were clearly unsuitable for my wall being modern of plaster board over fiberglass insulation. I used threaded wall plugs and selftapping screws, you only have one chance at with this as this kind of wall you can only hang pictures! My installation feels safe enough but only time will tell. However, as I don't have much of that it doesn't really matter. Seriously though, you need to look at mounting on plaster board walls.”
