“Looking for a winter shirt in the sale. Called Long Preston as we were going to be there the following day. The lady was initially very helpful but when I asked if she would keep the item to one side, turned very negative. I offered to pay for it over the phone, no joy....just negative. Clearly she didn't want to sell the item so I ordered it online. I never thought of Long Preston being that busy. The item arrive while we were away and had to be picked up from an agent in our village...a right chew on with specific ID etc...not easy. This was not a slick process.....just a mass of strange barriers. I have been buying Rohan since they first started. I see many of the original items framed in various Rohan outlets... The quality has been variable over the years but I have never had this much trouble buying a specific item. Long Preston could learn a thing or two from your Ambleside outlet which I visited recently....they were relaxed and attentive...and knew how deal with customers. One request....when are you likely to produce the Olfio tops again mine are a little worn out and I would dearly love to buy replacements. Not bad for nearly thirty years.....”

“Your email messages are a real pain, as no photographs are usually shown - meaning that one has to go online. Other manufacturers show more photographs in their email messages which makes it far more convenient for the customer !!!”

“I used to use Rohan a great deal but in recent times I have found their products very expensive compared to their competitors. In addition, there is no longer a shop in Bristol and returning goods is very inconvenient - especially in-store where there appears to be an order from above to try to refund in vouchers rather than crediting my card. In this respect Rohan should take a leaf out of Cotswold Stores book where refunds are simple, quick and easy. I still rate Rohan products very highly and recently used them almost exclusively on a trek to Mera Peak in Nepal. The Nightfall down jacket was a godsend at over 6400 metres as were the Trailblazer trousers - robust, practical, lightweight and comfortable. Website is always easy to use, deliveries prompt and customer service dept excellent if you need to contact Rohan.”

“Trousers advertised wrong. The colours on photos were not accurate (this was not due to my computer screen as Rohan suggested). In advert it recommended to go a size up if between sizes because trousers were slim. I did this as I am between sizes and the trousers were way to big on the waist. When approached Rohan with concerns asking for cost of postage I was told that there was no reason for this but on approaching again with a different person the postage was paid for but it did not make up for my time doing all of the returning, etc.”
