“Express delivery failed to materialise. I was refunded but that as not what I needed when I order and paid for next day delivery.”

“I find that your shops rarely offer the sizes I need when I visit them. Due to this I tried ordering online and pick-up in store. Only you rdelivery times to stores are not quick enough - I come from Brussels to London and found the pre-ordered items took a week to arrive in-store. This was the limit of my stay in London. Common sense would suggest, as was experienced in pre-digital ages, that should the ordered items should they be available off the shelf in the store at the time of visit could be issued in lieu of the packegae actually arriving from your distribution centre... alas not possible - computer says no! REally stupid - where is the human over-ride and use of common sense. I had to make further visits to the store after keeping a daily watch obn emails before being able to access your products - Inefficient and a waste of time and money for me and clearly a loss of sales occurring on your part, let alone the awkward situation presented to your staff who could see the advantage of providing the same product to the customer in front of them and taking the delivery of my order to restock their inventory. I cannot tell you how annoyed I am that you have processes that stop common sense activities - especially as you have chosen to retreat behind the Brexit barricades and stoppped delivering to Mainland Europe. So, no, I cannot recommend you to anyone.”

“I have generally been satisfied with my Rohan purchases in the past but not with my latest purchase. I bought a pair of Rohan original bags. I did this because I bought a pair about 10 years ago which I am still wearing but are quite worn. The new ones are made from a different slippery and shiny material and are cut much wider in the leg than the real original ones which are much more comfortable, not shiny and don't look look like trousers best suited to a building site. Unfortunately I could not return them because I did wear them out on a walk just to see if I could keep them. Rohan is a good brand but this item was a dissapointment for me.”

“I started wearing Rohan clothing about 10 years ago and find it of mixed quality. E.g. coats poor quality, shirts great quality. In my experience, their lightweight waterproof jackets have very poor durability. On a new coat (prompting this review), the inner lining tore on my watch sleeve after only a few wears, then my other sleeve and even the back (attached photo). This coat hasn't been used under duress or even been under a heavy backpack. On the flipside, the shirts, especially the Equator, are great. Lightweight, durable, comfortable when hot and sweaty, and still smell fine after a few days wear when washing isn't an option. The pop buttons spoiled them slightly (especially on the cuffs which accidentally come undone easily). Rohan no longer seems to make the Equator, so I hope the replacement continues the high quality. I've had disappointing experiences with Rohan's replacement policy too. Most recently, Rohan instore staff and online customer service were telling me different things, and I didn't bother contacting them for the two more recent coats I've had issues with. I don't think companies appreciate what a pain it can be. I use a lot of light/ultralight gear, and coat-wise, I've found comparable similarly priced brands with much better quality (although it's difficult to find a good hood, and the competitor hoods aren't as good as the first Rohan coats I used).”

“I have been buying and loving Rohan garments for decades. Last year I bought a pair of women's Striders in size 8. Usually I buy a size 10 but Striders were far too big in this size so I opted for an 8 which fitted perfectly. I was so pleased with them that this year, with an offer, I decided to have a pair in another colour. The size 8 pair arrived but it was at least 2cm smaller in all dimentions compared to my first pair. I sent a photo comparing them when I returned them, requesting a size 10 as a replacement. A couple of weeks later the replacement pair arrived but again it was a tiny size 8. These have now been returned and I await a replacement size 10 or a refund. Not good service and inconsistent sizing. I expect higher standards from Rohan.”

“The company is loosing it's way. It's trying to appeal to the younger generation with it's style and colour, unfortunately it's not working. The style and colours are awful plus the sizes have altered.young people don't buy Rohan it's mostly 50 plus generation.”

“Given a gift card as a present but found it impossible to find anything I could spend it on in the local Rohan shop - everything so expensive or horrible. Tried online, the only thing I could afford was a pair of pants - they came in the wrong colour!!! Don't give gift cards they are not worth the effort.”

“I returned my purchases as they were too small. On a visit to the Norwich store, my husband failed to find trousers to fit. Both of us found the trousers too tight on the legs. We have been customers for many years and consider that you are trying to appeal to younger people. We will give up looking to buy from you.”

“I am a big Rohan fan and have 11 items of clothing so was delighted to see a new base layer top at a greatly reduced price. I ordered medium as I have 5 medium garments (Dale top and microgrid fleece) Sadly when it arrived this medium was nothing like my other tops. Sleeves were 3 inches longer and length of garment 3 inches longer. It’s as if this was a different size to tops I have. So had to send it back. Now 5 working days later I still have not had the credit. Very disappointing and I don’t think I will ever buy again via mail order. It’s frustrating. Thanks.”

“Outdated and out of touch methodology in order to allow customers to purchase e-gift cards as a gift to others. Their system lacks the ability to send an e-gift card to the intended recipient, only to yourself. Also, the e-gift is sent to you immediately after you pay. Most modern businesses trading online and shop front have a system where one person can buy an e-gift card and have it transmitted to the intended recipient on the date (and sometimes time) of their choosing.”

“The boots were awful, I normally take size 8 so I bought 8.5 wide so I could wear thicker socks. They were tight and very stiff, terrible quality. I spoke to your Customer Services about you taking the £10 gift card off the boots refund price even though there were two other items which I kept. I was told that it was a voucher and not a Gift Card as it is stated on the card!”

“Good material, good design spoilt by the cut of the pattern. the front is cut much shallower than the back of the trousers, therefore causing a tightness around the crotch. The rest was a perfect fit.”

“I found the service from your call centre excellent unfortunately I can't say the same for the clothing I ordered two lots trousers size 10 one was to small the other to large I have struggled to find clothes that fit one of the last things I ordered was impregnated with chemical that I didn't realise but the worst bit was it warned not to wash with other clothes .How dangerous was it . So I hope last thing I have ordered will be ok because I am fed up trying to find something so I can use up a credit note .”

“My recent order split between your warehouse and a store. The store got it wrong. The order and accompanying form clearly stated the size required and the store sent the wrong size. This has meant I’ve had to organise a return and still have not received a replacement. Not impressed.”

“Online ordering process was fine but when I went to collect my purchase from Rohan Manchester store the experience was very disappointing. Three members of staff standing around talking to each other and not interested in me as customer. Didn't listen to what I said and made no effort to engage with me about products on sale in shop (which I would have been interested in if the staff had made any effort)”

“As dedicated RA members, both my wife and I have used Rohan for many years and during that time we have found the styling gradually becoming unfashionable and in particular, I've always found it difficult to find trousers with a comfortable fit. The weight and quality of the material now used for "mid-layer" clothing is no longer up to Rohan's previous quality.”
