“Booking was made easily but follow up documentation was lacking. We were told that we should have earmarked the first 3 days excursions before embarking but had no indication from you. Usually info communications from you arrived after those from Scenic.”

“The lady who organised the holiday was very helpful and in my opinion went the extra mile to organise the holiday. The only annoying thing was when we arrived at Newcastle airport to catch the flight to Amsterdam, then fly to Budapest with KLM at 9.25am on the 22 April, a 7hr round trip. There was also a direct flight to Budapest at 9.20am from Newcastle with Ryanair a 2hr45min flight. It's was disappointing that we weren't on Ryanair flight it would save us, 4hrs on our journey time to Budapest.”

“excellent boat,staff,food. everywhere comfortable and super clean. transfers organised well and on time. nothing too much trouble. My only disappointment was the curtailed boat trip due to low water levels, which is a common occurence, and short time in each stop.”

“Parts of the cruise were really good. But, unfortunately it started quite badly. I was contacted less than a week before to ask for my passport details again. These I had sent in August, but they had somehow got lost in your system. I resent them, but this left a troubling lack of confidence taste in my mouth. I also didn't hear agian from your concierge to apologise of explain where my personal details ended up. So, then we arrive. Aparently we were the only "Cruise only" people on the cruise. It was our first ever river cruise, and have very positive expereicne with Celebrity, so we know what a good welcome can be. We stood in front of a losed door and two women stood in front of us, and waited and didn't open the door. They were our Cruise Director and Concierge. This did not auger well for the cruise. We finally got onboard, and everything related to Scylla was great. The cabin, personel, food, entertainment. However the two women were seriously incompetent-Unprofessional, unprepared, poor reading, very english centric, I could go on. They were just not at a level that i was expecting.”

“Food, atmosphere and staff all excellent. However, of the 4 days advertised, the first was travelling and arriving, straight to dinner, nothing close by to stroll to after food. Day 2 didn't arrive to destination until 2-3 pm, the same on day 3. More time could have been been spent at the destination if sailing had been done though the night rather than moored. Sailing during the day restricts your time onshore. Day 4 leaving at airport at 7.40 am. For the amount of sight-seeing, it wasnt worth the long effort of travelling. We did overall enjoy the trip but would not recommend if you are a keen sight-seer.”

“Good value for money. It doesn't have the luxury of Uniworld or Scenic but river cruises are not as expensive. It is a good idea to add a possibility of a drink package from 2014 cruises. Great service from Emma Gray and Stacey Williams. I would like to have them as my named Specialist Cruise Concierges.”

“Donna was helpful but it would of been nice to have all the information when booking instead of going back and forth to the booking team. When I enquired about the drinks package was offered the premium package of 175 per person which seems extortionate. I then enquired if there was another drinks package and then offered 90 per person for just beer and wine which we opted for. Why were we not offered all the packages to choose from? And who the flight was with? The fact that there was no flight on the day of the cruise meant we had to arrive the day before and staying in a hotel costing more money and the fact that the only cabin left was over the engine which would of made our cruise uncomfortable. If we changed our room it would of cost us 200 pounds more. So in all, as pensionsers what we thought was a good deal turned out to be more expensive. I have booked with Emerald before directly and did not encounter these issues and extra costs. I have received a confirmation the day after I booked but there was no breakdown of the costs and have not received any flight details as yet.”
