Food, atmosphere and staff all excellent. However, of the 4 days advertised, the first was travelling and arriving, straight to dinner, nothing close by to stroll to after food. Day 2 didn't arrive to destination until 2-3 pm, the same on day 3. More time could have been been spent at the destination if sailing had been done though the night rather than moored. Sailing during the day restricts your time onshore. Day 4 leaving at airport at 7.40 am. For the amount of sight-seeing, it wasnt worth the long effort of travelling. We did overall enjoy the trip but would not recommend if you are a keen sight-seer.

Good value for money. It doesn't have the luxury of Uniworld or Scenic but river cruises are not as expensive. It is a good idea to add a possibility of a drink package from 2014 cruises. Great service from Emma Gray and Stacey Williams. I would like to have them as my named Specialist Cruise Concierges.

Donna was helpful but it would of been nice to have all the information when booking instead of going back and forth to the booking team. When I enquired about the drinks package was offered the premium package of 175 per person which seems extortionate. I then enquired if there was another drinks package and then offered 90 per person for just beer and wine which we opted for. Why were we not offered all the packages to choose from? And who the flight was with? The fact that there was no flight on the day of the cruise meant we had to arrive the day before and staying in a hotel costing more money and the fact that the only cabin left was over the engine which would of made our cruise uncomfortable. If we changed our room it would of cost us 200 pounds more. So in all, as pensionsers what we thought was a good deal turned out to be more expensive. I have booked with Emerald before directly and did not encounter these issues and extra costs. I have received a confirmation the day after I booked but there was no breakdown of the costs and have not received any flight details as yet.

We were well satisfied with the cruise content and menu choices. We were annoyed by the "tipping arrangements ' letter. It suggested a tipping amount, but the envelope for our tip included a room number. This enable Riviera to correlate tipping amount against individual clients; we believe this to be unethical and as this information was not agreed beforehand, it may well be unlawful iaw EU GDPR regulations. Tipping should be ananymous.

Given a phone number to book and at no time was I informed that I would be speaking to another company. Weird and could have been most embarrassing!! Other than that it was straightforward.

Elizabeth (Wright) was very helpful and pointed out a very good deal with Avalon. The only drawback has been that I received an email confirming my booking with the wrong booking reference and the wrong ship on it. Still havent had confirmation of the cruise. Res no. 107792.

Having only ever been on sea cruises before I have little to compare with, however, the booking process was well organised and straightforward, everything was explained fully at every stage and I did not have too many questions at the end to clarify anything. I would have liked my confirmation email and itinerary a bit quicker how ever this was over the new year so I cannot complain as I have everything now. We have just confirmed our choice of flights and are again awaiting confirmation of those so that we will then know exactly what is happening from doorstep to boat and again on the return journey
