“We were well satisfied with the cruise content and menu choices. We were annoyed by the "tipping arrangements ' letter. It suggested a tipping amount, but the envelope for our tip included a room number. This enable Riviera to correlate tipping amount against individual clients; we believe this to be unethical and as this information was not agreed beforehand, it may well be unlawful iaw EU GDPR regulations. Tipping should be ananymous.”

“Given a phone number to book and at no time was I informed that I would be speaking to another company. Weird and could have been most embarrassing!! Other than that it was straightforward.”

“Elizabeth (Wright) was very helpful and pointed out a very good deal with Avalon. The only drawback has been that I received an email confirming my booking with the wrong booking reference and the wrong ship on it. Still havent had confirmation of the cruise. Res no. 107792.”

“Having only ever been on sea cruises before I have little to compare with, however, the booking process was well organised and straightforward, everything was explained fully at every stage and I did not have too many questions at the end to clarify anything. I would have liked my confirmation email and itinerary a bit quicker how ever this was over the new year so I cannot complain as I have everything now. We have just confirmed our choice of flights and are again awaiting confirmation of those so that we will then know exactly what is happening from doorstep to boat and again on the return journey”

“We had an excellent time on our cruise to Amsterdam and tthe Dutch tulip fields in April.They had a shortage of staff on our trip so the tour guide apologised and told us there will be a refund of£200 or 40% of our next trip as long as we take it this year. None of these promises have materialised.My reason for 4 not 5 stars. booking ref WOR 89752 Booked by my daughter”

“I was very excited about the Danube Yuletide cruise as it was at a price we were able to afford , however despite the price being ‘ live’ when I rang the number for booking , I was told that deal was no longer available and that it would now cost over a £1200 pp a price hike of £400 pp, the concierge was very friendly and I was persuaded to go for the Rhine cruise as an alternative at over £929 pp but I am left feeling duped that the offer was not upheld on the Danube cruise which was the reason I had looked into this river voyage in the first instance. What a pity the company doesn’t honour their advertising. Not sure if I’d recommend this to friends . We had friends interested in joining us on the Danube trip but as the offer was no longer available on the Danube, they declined to join us on the Rhine cruise.Despite leaving my contact details with someone at 9am, I also had to call 3 hours after to try and get someone to return my call as there was no call back. Rebecca who dealt with my enquiry and booking was super friendly though.”
