“Key sent did not work”

“I ordered a replacement key for an old Brabantia post box. Promptly delivered next day (correct key ref number) but did not work and looked dissimilar. Emailed with a picture of old and replacement, only to be told that they did not recognise my old key and so could do nothing. At least they reimbursed my money.”

“I ordered the key on a Thursday evening hoping it might arrive in the post by Saturday morning. it didn't. Monday I received an email asking for photos of the lock which I sent, the key code on the lock was 012. as could be seen in he photos. on the following Wednesday I received the key through the post the code hade been changed (Pen amended on the printed paperwork) from 012 to 75012 with the paperwork amended by hand. Unfortunately the key did not fit, I had to resort to drilling the lock out in the end. I think an email suggesting that my 012 code was wrong and the experts believe it to be a different code should of been sent prior to the key just being sent out, would have been a better option in hindsight.”

“Initially I was impressed with the speed in which the key I ordered was delivered. However the key I ordered did not fit the lock I had. I contacted Replacement Keys by email as there is no telephone number given for them on their website to ask if they could help but they have not responded. I then returned the key with the necessary written contract cancellation to the PO Box address given as their terms and conditions state the order can be cancelled within 14 days but again I have had no acknowledgement of this. Still waiting for my refund.”

“Ordered Eurospec MP10 BGxxxxx coded keys. They arrived reasonably quickly and looked fine; however they don't actually work. The code is right but you can see on physical inspection of the keys that there are tiny differences between the new cut keys and the existing. Small differences, but common across all keys. Clearly either their cutting machine doesn't work properly or (more likely) it is wrongly programmed for that particular code. They have told us to send them back and they will re-do the keys, but I struggle to understand how the next ones they cut will be any different from their first attempt (5 identical but wrong keys). I can see this turning into a fantastic waste of my time.......not to mention £25....”

“Unfortunately they don't fit the lock so it looks like we will need to have a replacement barrel fitted. It was for our Village Hall and for a Bissley cabinet marked with the same number as the keys I ordered. All the keys I have previously had from the company have been fine so not sure what has gone wrong this time.”

“Unfortunately the key didnt fit! It was the correct make and number. However, this was a ey old filing cabinet and so no one knows whether there had been any changes or damage to the lock in the interim period so this may have been out of the control of the company making he replacement key”

“I purchase two original keys a couple years ago and the quality was top notch, so I decided to order 4 more replacement keys thinking the quality would be the same. I am deeply mistaken. The 4 keys that I received looked like they were milled with hard rough edge and one was bent that was noticeable but still functional. The quality of the keys are in question and I doubt I will order any further replacement keys from you again, especially the quality. You should have better quality control before shipping out keys.”

“When the key did not work there was no way of contacting someone in person. The web site only gave a method which didn't work on my PC and when I used another method I had no idea it had been received. As the web site calls for me to let you know that I was sending the key back I had no indication that it was the right thing to do. Therefore it would be a good idea to have a contact phone number on the invoice when you send an item out in the first place.”

“It didn't work. Twisted the key trying to turn in the lock. Straighten it in the vice and compared it with original notice new key was not ground down sufficiently. Used needle files to remove metal until the key worked with with a bit a tender use. So very disappointed. Will not be using your services again.”
