Everything was done exactly as I requested. The lady at the crematorium couldn’t have been nicer or kinder. We attended the cremation and were treated with respect and were not rushed. The gentleman who delivered the ashes was very friendly and pleasant. Overall I highly recommend them

Dear Mr Rigg, we are sorry to see this comment. Looking at the extensive notes I can see that after overcoming numerous issues that could have delayed the committal, the cremation took place as originally planned at a crematorium of your choice, which you attended. This is usually all the confirmation that a family requires. In these circumstances, we do not usually make a separate call to say that the cremation has been completed and nor does any other venue. We will revisit our communication about this to avoid any confusion in the future. I do agree that it took too long to arrange the return of your loved one's ashes and apologise for this. I can see from the records that this has now been completed, which I hope has brought you comfort. Kind regards Catherine Powell

Whilst the overall purpose was served and staff tried to be helpful, there were a number of challenges . The service could be improved by notifying when the cremation is to actually take place and to ensuring that deadlines are met without the need for customers to remind the service.

I'm very impressed by the service. Quick and easy. Once cremation is done the ashes are delivered by hand.

After my Brother passed away at home, it was easy to contact pure cremations and begin the funeral process. I was kept informed at every stage and notified when the cremation was going to take place. It was good to have a date and time to focus on, as we were not attending. All staff were respectful and pleasant to deal with and the ashes were delivered to me at an arranged time. They will now be interred in my mum and dad's grave, which we will attend.

Would recommend as they look after everything for you at a time when you are very upset and not thinking correctly pure cremations take all that away from you and help in anyway they can

Excellent service from start to finish. Informative emails and telephone calls to update me on each phase of the process.

Excellent collection (despite delay from Drs and Medical authorities - not Pure) and kept up to date. Only jiggle would be error in return date due to contractors making errors BUT this was sorted quickly and promptly by Pure. Delivery was prompt and driver was so polite and wonderful. Overall a great experience making things smoother during a rough time.

Prior to my late father’s Cremation I would have rated Pure Cremation 5 Stars. My family and I were badly let down with your failure to deliver him back to us when promised. Friends and family had gathered together here awaiting his return in the morning to my home ready for us to depart together as a group to scatter his ashes at another location with my late mother’s in a simple ceremony to celebrate his life. This was his wish. This was not to be. Not only had there been administration errors within your company but no plans were in place for you to fulfil your ‘paid for’ obligations. I then had the misfortune when contacting you, to speak to two business minded and unsympathetic members of your staff , one being ‘a manager’ who thought that by saying a curt sorry and hurriedly attempting to arrange another day for his return was the answer to this sad situation. I will leave you to imagine how we were all feeling at this stage. I insisted on escalating my complaint. I was contacted by ‘Peter’ ( Manager of executive team) and after explaining that my address and your company were in the same County and 43 minutes by road, he arranged for the delivery of ashes late in the afternoon. Although he did his best to try and ‘save the day’ it was too late, and a great disappointment as some guests who had travelled considerable distances were unable to stay on. We did our best the following day to celebrate my fathers life with reduced numbers, but I will forever feel that I have let him down. I hope that this situation is not experienced by others who chose Pure Cremation for their loved ones. UPDATE. When a Company gives sterling service they are to be praised (5*). When that Company makes an error during that otherwise good service they should be criticised (3*). But when the impact of that error is recognised and a sincere sympathetic apology is given by a genuinely concerned owner (who has now modified procedures to prevent it happening again), then that deserves the highest accolade. My father used to say “We all make mistakes and that’s why you will find a rubber at the top of a pencil”. So on reflection I feel that 5 Stars is the correct rating to give to Pure Cremation for their otherwise excellent service and understanding during a difficult time after the death of my father.

Dear Mr Whitworth, based on my investigation following the receipt of this review, we fully acknowledge the justice of your comments and I want to offer my apologies both personally and on behalf of the company. We pride ourselves on keeping our promises and while this is an exceptional situation we absolutely recognise its impact. We have identified the cause of the failed delivery and rectified it, but I appreciate that will not turn the clock back. I will make contact with you today so that you have the opportunity to voice your feelings to the owner of the company. Yours sincerely Catherine Powell

Thank you so much for allowing me to hear first-hand about your experience. It has been heart-warming to hear about what we did well, and that our response to this difficult situation has restored your confidence in our sincere intention to aim for the very best care for all our clients. All in all I would definitely recommend Pure Cremation. We had some difficulties, through no fault of PC, but my dad's body had to be transported back nearly 100 miles for a post mortem and then they collected his body again when all was done. No extra charge to us for this extra 200 miles. I was very impressed by their professionalism on this. We were phoned and promised his ashes on one day, but for some reason that was done by someone who shouldn't have organised it and so we received them 2 days later. At the end of the day it was a mistake that PC apologised massively for. The package of ashes is lovely and the personal deliverers of them were very caring. Definitely would recommend the company.

Professional friendly and helpful from the moment I rang them to ask about my mum's policy, they kept informed when it was needed and the driver Ricky was a lovely friendly fellow and a good listener when he dropped mum off to us with her ashes. Highly recommended considering using them myself.

All staff friendly and helpful and considerate. Only 4 stars as long wait on phone to be answered, but I am sure that has been addressed by now, as we discussed. My wishes were accepted and all carried out without fuss and to the letter. It is liberating to be able to deal with my husband's remains the way we had chosen in a respectful manner rather than needing to go the traditional route which would have been difficult as some family unable to attend.

Poor to no communication I had to do all the chasing up on collection of relatives body and ashes . Ashes was a lot later than they said and at this time theses are things you don’t want to do.

Dear Amanda, I am very sorry to hear that our communication with you did not meet the standards that we all expect and that the return of your father's ashes took longer than the 21 days post-cremation that we aim for. At the time we were experiencing a very high demand that truly tested our staff and systems, and while our team worked hard to protect our families, I am sincerely sorry that this impacted you. It is always painful to hear about arrangements where we could have done better, that's why we take all feedback very seriously, using it to identify the lessons we need to learn so we can continue to deliver exceptional service. Yours sincerely Catherine Powell

Kind, caring, thoughtful. We called a number at 11pm on a Friday evening, while still reeling from the shock of hearing dad had passed away. No knowing what to expect, our call for help was answered by a lovely man who gently talked us through what was required. We arranged for Pure Cremations to collect dad and from that initial call, they dealt with all that was required. The online paperwork was easy to navigate, and before long we had a date for the cremation. No time was given. Although some in our family struggled with the idea of ‘no funeral’, it’s what dad wanted. And for mum, it was wonderful. She was able to spend the day doing exactly as she wanted - mainly in quiet contemplation. She didn’t have to face people and have ‘the facade’. We talked, laughed, enjoyed a country drive, spent time with my daughter and granddaughter… and the Red Arrows (based in Lincolnshire) did an impromptu love knot in the sky. A fitting tribute to a loving, kind and gentle man. Dad was returned to us in a beautiful container, complete with a card and a pamphlet full of helpful guidance and support available. Thank you Pure Cremations team for looking after Bill and returning him home to us, where he belongs.
