As we like to do our very best to not only minimise additives in our food, we also do our very best to avoid food waste. Freezing is natures best way of preserving food. For centuries food was stored with either salt or ice, holding in all of the key nutrients and never wasting a thing. We blast freeze our meat at the perfect moment which means that we are locking in a whole heap of vitamins, minerals and nutrients and ensures that your food is delivered to you at the optimum moment, so it tastes its very best. “This was my second order as very pleased with the first. I am generally happy with the order (the marmalade sausages were excellent), but disappointed with the brisket as it was mostly fat, the actual meat content fed one person! On the up side, I have lots of beef fat for cooking!”

“As we have only just received our order we have not eaten it all as yet !!!! But if it is up to your usual standard of quality and taste, we will enjoy it. Only downside, but not your fault, was that the package was not put in our notified safe place. Fortunately I noticed it, although it was dark, so actually no problem, but there could have been.”

“I ordered 4 items for my mum's 91st birthday. First, the package was delivered a day earlier than I has requested and left on the front porch. My mother hadn't heard the bell, she was in the shower. I had specifically asked for it to be dropped at a neighbour's if she was out and that it should be put in a freezer. Luckily I was in Thailand and received an email that the package was on my mum's front porch. I phoned her immediately and told her. Secondly the three pieces of fish I ordered were "delicious" but my mum was disappointed with the aubergine "parmesan". I checked the ingredients and there is NO parmesan in this dish. For the price it was not as expected and not very tasty. I wouldn't buy it again. My mum and I are good cooks and make a far better aubergine dish.”

“But for a small difficulty in delivery eventually overcome, my rating would have been 5*. The topside of beef was quite superb and the scallops in blankets were the same. My 18 guests all gave high praise and I was happy to name the source.”

“hi my first order and Wow all the meat was first class tender prefect.. the thing that let you down was the pork pie it was so over powered by herbs we had to bin it .so disappointed”

“I haven't tried all of the meats yet, but so far so good. In terms of suitability, I have two comments. 1. Just to simply use paper tape rather than plastic tape on box packaging. 2. Whilst most of the packaging is recyclable, which is great, the freezer packs are not. We use a company called 'Different Dog' for our frozen dog food. They offer a service where you can return ALL of the packaging so it can be reused. Pipers might want to look at how they do this and offer a similar service. Thanks. Paul.”

“I'm a new customer and have just ordered my second meat box from pipers. The first box ('Essentials') was excellent - the minced beef was delicious, made into a cottage pie, ful of flavour - the way meat used to taste like before 'big farming' took over. The chicken was the finest I've tasted for a long time- the family loved it! I've yet to eat the steaks, but I know I'm not going to be disappointed there. The plain pork sausages were full of meaty flavour, and a good size too. However! I Haven't given Pipers a full 5 stars because of the Ingredients used in your 'homemade' pies: Rapeseed oil is a massive no-no in our household (all seed oils are toxic and cause metabolic disease in the human) and margarine does similar damage. I want your pies to have PROPER full fat butter and lard in the pastry making - it's the only healthy (yes!) fat to use, as well as tallow and ghee. Proper Artisan bakery doesn't use the above 'fats'. The flavour will be amazing. Please have a look and see if there are any true artisan bakers out there and use them.Even if the pies cost more, I will guarantee My family will buy the lot! Neverthe less, pretty pleased with my order and will continue to use you for our meat sources. Many thanks Marion”

“I got ribeye steak,venison steaks and diced chicken.The only reason I put 4 stars is because the diced chicken was not breast,when I cooked it,it was grey and not white which made me think it was a low quality cut from the animal.”

“It felt pricey for what arrived, the lamb steaks were tiny too, but all of it was super tasty and the flat iron steak was one of the nicest steaks I've ever had. I will order again, but can't afford to order as much as I'd like to. Pricey, but good quality, tasty meat.”

“We purchased a 3 kg duck which was one of the best we have ever tasted. Seasoned with just sea salt and black pepper and roasted to perfection the duck was full of flavour and truly succulent. Would have been a five star review but the delivery date was wrong which caused problems”

“The packaging and wool is fantastic. The good quality and price is amazing. The only issue is everything comes in plastic. The meat, milk and kefir for example. It’s becoming very well known that plastic is contaminating our food and I want to get away from eating plastic.”
