“I like the coffee but a little expensive to recommend to friends. Can buy acceptable equivalent in Waitrose for half the price”

Hi Ian, Thanks for your review! We're really glad to hear you've enjoyed the coffee so far - and hope we can explain a little more about our prices. We are committed to paying farmers the 'Pact Premium' prices they deserve for producing speciality coffee. It's the right thing to do, and it ensures we continue to secure the very best beans in the crop to bring to you, whilst keeping the relationships we have developed over the years strong. Closer to home, we're facing inflationary pressure, as well as higher shipping costs (to bring coffee from origin to our roastery), higher postage and packaging costs (whilst keeping postage free for our customers), and a rise in the price of the energy needed to roast our precious beans. For these reasons, the decision to increase our prices wasn’t something we could avoid or delay any further. We aim for 5-star service every time, so we will be contacting you to put things right, but if there is anything that can be improved please let us know at ahoy@pactcoffee.com or over the phone on 0203 095 3975 and we will be more than happy to help. “Early days, but no complaints yet. I've even increased the delivery frequency. Just waiting to be able to recycle the packaging...”

Hi Sarah, Thanks for your review and we're glad to hear everything's going well so far. To expand a bit on the recycling query you had, the composite foil/paper bags we currently use for our coffee are recyclable in some areas, but it's always best to check with your local council about this. We are very aware they're not easily recyclable at the moment, unfortunately as it stands to retain the coffees freshness and quality we're not able to offer any alternatives for packaging or sending your coffee just at the moment but rest assured, we are trying hard to find a solution! “I really enjoyed it, very different taste to other coffee's I've tried, really fruity but not sweet, something nearly woody about it! It's a robust coffee with a lovely smooth colour. 4 stars as I don't have a comparison in this league yet!”

“Im new to Pact Coffee so I have not yet tried a broad range of coffees. The organization has been very efficient and professional. The initial offer kit has changed my '11-O'clock' coffee experience. the first coffee Zaroca was quite mild for a Dark roast. adjusting measure to cup size helped.”

Hi Nerys, thank you very much for the review, we hope you’re loving the coffee and our service! More than happy to help regarding the strenght of our coffee! On the supermarket scale of strength, most of our coffees would be classed as either 2 or 3. This is because supermarket coffee is often roasted extremely dark so that you pick up lots of bold and smoky flavours from the roast, ours is roasted a little more lightly in order to bring out those natural flavours from the bean! To make a stronger coffee, all you need to do is add a little more ground coffee per cup - do check our Brew Guides on our website [here](https://www.pactcoffee.com/brew-guides) for tips! The exceptions are the espresso blends we offer, which would be a 4 or a 5 on that roast scale, making that a really good option for people who like a darker roast. Our permanent espresso blends are the Fruit and Nut Espresso blend and Bourbon Cream Espresso. “My partner likes a coffee! Made the decision to try this coffee. It's a thumbs up! Great coffee, you can select your coffee plan to suit you: roast, grind size, find out the origin of coffee and who its grown by....what's not to like...coffee tastes GREAT and smells divine. Arrives promptly and customer service is good.”

For future reference you can set a frequency of your choice, and you've only charged when a bag is sent out, so if you want you can have a 60 day frequency and receive a bag of coffee every two months! “Great coffee. Hassle-free to order and prompt delivery. Love the ethos of the business. However, it is a real shame you haven't been able to reach your pledge to "switch over to a fully recyclable plastic bag by the end of 2021". Hope this is being worked on so that we can continue to lessen environmental burden whilst continuing to support communities and livelihoods.”

Hey there, First of all... welcome aboard! We're really glad you're enjoying your coffee and our ethos! We are very aware they're not easily recyclable at the moment, unfortunately as it stands to retain the coffees freshness and quality we're not able to offer any alternatives for packaging or sending your coffee just at the moment. However that being said, due to the volume of orders we send out each day, an easily and fully recyclable bag has been something we've been working on for quite some time. It's been a challenge to find the right product, to retain the freshness and quality of the coffee as I mentioned and for it to also be suitable for our letterbox friendly parcels. Unfortunately, this is a challenge that we are still yet to surmount.

“Great service with great coffees almost every time, and excellent options for reviewing and selecting coffees that you do or don't want as often. The only issue I have is that I'd much rather have the option to buy a significantly larger bag to last around a month and pay less, rather than having another bag arrive every few days and no doubt absorbing the extra postage costs and running out for a day here and there more frequently.”
