We are a little disappointed. We entered our voucher code & accessed the availability calendar, selected a date and booked time off work. We were later contacted to say we would need to change our date or pay an additional £40 for a superior room. We would have expected only available dates that corresponded with our voucher code would have been displayed.

Thank you for your feedback. The date you selected for the hotel package included in your voucher was provisionally available rather than instantly available. For this type of booking it is necessary to wait for a response from the hotel before it can be confirmed. This would have shown on the booking page when the date was selected, again when the booking had been made and then on the initial confirmation emailed to you. Shortly after the reservation had been made the hotel advised us that they only had rooms of a higher category available so you were given the option to either pay to upgrade to another room type or book an alternative date. We called you to discuss the options and you decided to upgrade. We were not made aware at any point that you were dissatisfied with the process or the outcome. Failing to send me an email confirmation because of a mistake in my email address was not a good start. When giving the address I did make a point of not putting an A in Cremer. On phoning the next day it was soon put right and your staff went out of their way to be helpful.

Dear Mr Bellamy, Thank you for your review, although I'm sorry to hear that your email address was taken down incorrectly. Unfortunately on rare occasions mistakes such as this do occur; we would always contact our customers upon receiving an error message saying that the email had not been delivered, as confirmations are of paramount importance. I can see that in this case you called us before we received the error message, so our member of staff was able to amend your email address and re-send your confirmation while you were on the telephone with her. I phoned up on Bank Holiday Sunday with a query about the hotel I was thinking of booking. Helen, who answered the phone, was extremely helpful in answering, and I needed to discuss what she had said with my wife. I phoned back later to book and also had another question which Helen was unable to answer straight away but did phone back later with an answer. I finally booked the hotel and was very pleased with the service provided, especially over a Bank Holiday weekend.

Because there was a problem with redeeming my voucher (the named hotel was no longer on your list) I spoke to several people in your office. Everyone I spoke to was friendly and polite and keen to help. The problem was clearly explained to me and there was never any criticism of the named hotel for initially saying they were unable to accept my voucher. Information about alternative hotels in my chosen area were quickly identified and emailed to me and when the named hotel agreed to redeem my voucher, Kirsty ensured that I was kept fully informed at each stage. I was very impressed with all your staff and would certainly recommend 'offpeafluxury' to friends and family.

I had asked for a downstairs room as my husband has problems with stairs. Rachael from Off Peak rang me to say the hotel had arranged this & checked that all was ok, very impressed with their service.

Great being able to talk and book through a real person. Not only was she knowledgable and easy to converse with she brought back the days of personable service rather than the modern labour saving impersonal feelings one gets from self service. Assuming the hotel stay is anywhere near as good as her assistance we will happily return to book further holidays in the future

Good website, fairly easy to use. Unhappy though that when I asked for a VAT receipt I was emailed back to say I couldn't have one until I checked out of the hotel in December. I have paid in advance, VAT receipt now please!

We appreciate you have paid in advance for your hotel reservation however the VAT invoice is issued shortly after your stay as the tax point is the checkout date and we do have flexible cancellation and postpone terms. We are sorry if this was not made clear when your request was made. We will arrange for a VAT receipt to be emailed to you today and should you cancel or amend your booking prior to arrival we will amend this if necessary. The staff at OPL where all very helpful and found us accommodation at a hotel, that in writing left me feeling excited to stay in. Until the actual reality of the place which has been quite a let down. The lamphrey hotel does not have any luxury elements to it and does not deserve to be in one of the hotels you offer. The quality of food is not good, the choice is limited to start with and when they keep running out of things on a limited menu it becomes exasperating. The room we are staying in has a stale old smoke smell despite there begin a non smoking room sign on the door.The communal lounge smells the same. The housekeeping staff are very noisy and wake up to their chatter at 8 in the morning and continues throughout the morning,cheerful staff do their job well but are too noisy and not considerate to paying guests in this way. The only saving grace is they have a lovely swimming pool as I'm an avid swimmer and have enjoyed this aspect of the holiday and the setting of the hotel. This holiday has not been worth the £700 for 4 nights as our summer holiday. This is the third time I have used OPL this one has been the poorest for value for money. Disappointed customer.
