“A superb tool I found via Homeowners Alliance to find a surveyor. Submitting a few details within minutes brings up quotes from five local surveyors, with details of their addresses, areas covered, contact details etc. The surveyors then emailed directly with extra information, some within minutes of my using the Local Surveyors Direct tool. The small print on the form indicates you can put 0000 in the phone number field if preferred; I would have found it helpful if there had been a sample figure eg £000000 for the property as it was only by much trial and error I found the tool was not working because I had included a comma in the value ie £000,000.”

“My experience of trying to find a surveyor to help me with my building project was bad ! I attempted to contact 3 surveyors , the first texted me back to ask me if it was ok to ring me back later . He did indeed ring me back but he was out with his children so couldn't really talk . He asked me to send photos of my issue and he would get back to me with charges ect and would book me in as he was already coming to my area on a day . I emailed him all the details and photos as requested . I never heard from him again . I left messages for others and never recieved a reply . I also got bombarded with emails from other surveyors that were miles away from me and also didn't appear on my suggested list of surveyors in my area . Needless to say , I have had to search and employ a surveyor from elsewhere.”
