The companies that contacted me weren't local at all, not really. One was 30 miles away another 120 miles away, so I didn't use this service at all and employed somebody directly who happened to live in the Village, the next Village along from where the house was and at half the price other companies were quoting.

The website showed a price of £359. When I went on the company's website it was £475. I contacted the company and was told the price on the comparison website was only an estimate not a quote.I would not expect an estimate to be £116 difference

I decided to pay extra for a full survey rather than just a valuation. The report arrived a week after the survey. Most of it was generic stuff you can look up yourself. The surveyor was wrong about the age of the house by 20 years, resulting in me spending almost £200 on a further red ash survey specific to younger houses. He stated that there was damp in the walls and probably rising damp. Another £125 for a damp and timber surveyor to find there was no damp at all. Possible movement potentially caused by leaking drains led to a £165 drain survey which showed the drains were new and without leaks. I referred the damp and drain surveys back to the surveyor as requested and asked what to do next. By then I had little doubt that I would be advised to have another survey regarding the movement. No reply. Instead I used the negative survey to negotiate a lower price which paid for all my surveys and a decent builder to advise what work actually needed doing. So there was one positive and for that the surveyor gets 2 stars instead of one. My advice would be to inspect the house with a torch and ladder and get your own specific surveys for any concerns you have. An initial survey like this seems to be an exercise in ass covering and with little or no useful information above what you can find on the internet. Spend your money elsewhere.

We paid in a timely fashion. The survey was initially promised 5-7 working days from being undertaken. I initiated every conversation in order to obtain the survey. In the end we received the survey after 10 working days & we had requested a credit of the payment due to no information coming from the surveyors & constant promise dates not coming true. Shame.

I required a survey of some freeholds I had been left in my mother's will. I needed a valuation for probate and two people wanted to buy the freeholds off me. No company o. Your list could/would undertake the valuation.

Your surveyor search said that it would provide 4 local surveyors. It only provided one, which was some distance away from the search area. I could not believe there were no surveyors nearer than that, as there is a town which I expected to have surveyors available closer than the one you suggested. By using different search terms on google I found a very local, RICS qualified surveyor, and have asked them to do the valuation. This was one of many who were closer than the one you found. I therefore feel that using your website was a waste of time and was misleading.

The requirement was for an external survey only. Each organisation that contacted me would only provide a full house survey. The requirement entered should have been passed on to the relevant organisations.

Got address and age of property wrong. Really didn't do much - I could see everything he said - e.g. electrics need updating get an electrician in. ....... Communication very slow still hasn't answered one of my questions.

I would have preferred to see reviews of the surveyors; this facility is not available on the website. I was contacted promptly by several surveyors. It transpired that none were local and at least one (Your Survey) are not chartered surveyors or regulated by the RICS (why are they on a website that states they are?). Several others, were national companies who use freelance surveyors. It took a while to glean this information and I found the experience a waste of time. I eventually used Yell to get a local surveyor.

The website gave me no clue as to the specialization of the various surveyors or, whether my problem would fall within the scope of surveyors. I needed someone to advise on the VA.decision to split a domestic reference into two parts and, to question the rating of each if it were decided to be a valid decision. Martin Dawson.

Only 1 surveyor found by search criteria. This surveyor failed to respond to email enquiry and I was unable to contact by 'phone. I ended up using surveyor recommended by estate agent.

The prices all differed significantly. I managed to find a much cheaper surveyor. Tracey, London
