Very slow and unresponsive customer service. I had to chase delivery of the survey report (which was overdue) on two occasions and received a very dismissive response from Management when I complained about the poor service.

The principal reason I requested a survey, was the fact that the property I am considering purchasing has obvious (and I do mean obvious) signs of rising damp. When I booked the survey I explained that my main concern was the damp issue, and I was assured the survey would provide information and advice on a remedy and the associated cost. However, when the survey arrived, it contained only a passing reference to the damp ("...walls are damp as is to be expected in this type/age of property.." or similar) - completely useless to me. I complained, and after about a fortnight (and a couple of additional emails to try and gee them along!) received additional information from the surveyor. Although it did go into further detail in general about damp and its causes and remedies, the only real advice was to get a damp-specialist to go in and perform a survey! Basically, I've spent about £500 to learn pretty-much what I already knew, and have to spend another £150 in order to get a quote to cure the damp. Thoroughly unimpressed.

Merely highlighted the 2 areas I expressed a desire to investigate when the Home Buyers Report was booked. It did not reveal or indeed raise any other further issues which needed to be addressed in the report. Later discovered from a conversation I had with the vendor of the property I am looking to purchase, that the surveyor spent no more than 10 minutes inside the property. Expressed some surprise, as the buyer’ s surveyor spent some 1 hour 35 minutes in our property doing a similar Home Buyers Report for them. So honestly, I am not convinced I had value for money.

Had a general building survey introduction states a traditionally built semi-detached property. Then states to the first floor there are 3x bedrooms and a shower room. But it is purpose built apartment. It as two bedrooms. A bathroom with a P bath and WC. Plus a separate WC. After query this it was changed. Not happy we wasted £420 getting Bow Cliffe to do the survey. If he couldn't getting the number of bedrooms right and the bathroom right and missing of the WC what does it say for the rest of the survey

The person I'm buying from was pressurised by whoever phoned to make an appointment to suit the surveyor not the vendor. I was not pleased by this.

They were not at all local, and the two companies that quoted were extremely expensive.

In today’s housing market surveyors , estate agents and vendors alike , need to be realistic. Even though it was hugely obvious none of the surveyors had work , none had the wisdom to negotiate on a realistic price ,to secure my business. So I took my business else where. We are heading into turmoil times in the housing market, don’t be greedy , be prepared to win honest business from those that won’t be taken advantage of !

I contacted a surveyor on October 2 I think it was and the first appointment they could give me was well into November so I went on Yellow pages on line and found a local Swansea surveyor who could do it this week

One of your advertisers quoted £450 for a building survey and after emailing twice advised me that a lesser survey would cost more plus VAT. I have emailed LBS about this sharp practice and asked for the surveyors price to be revised or the company removed from the site.

I had to chase a lot. In the end I didn't get the information I requested when I requested it and I had to find an alternative surveyor doing a different kind of search because I was not contacted with the acceptance letter and T&Cs when I needed that.

Am very critical of the limited value of RICS surveys but not enough space to detail my concerns.

Entered the required details, BUT no option for Park Home so, entered other! 2 out of the chartered surveyors phoned to see if they could be of assistance which in itself was good but along with the 2 that didn't phone me, once they knew it is a Park Home I am looking to have surveyed expressed it is not something they do. Yet the comments box for each of the companies that quoted showed Park Home!! In the end I was sent a link from an estate agent which directed me to a company who do specialise in Park Home Surveys.

I only got one reply wanting @£600 for the survey. We went with it as that was the only return on your site and two other similar sites.

Impressed with Maltings Structures and appointed. Frequent e-mails and phone calls from others a pain and lost them any chance.
