The original report contained obvious errors. It stated that the property had no gas supply and that the central heating system was electric. It described the property as 2 bedroom with a lounge diner and no other living or dining room. It is a three bedroom flat with the third bedroom used as a dining room by the owners. It has gas central heating and a dual fuel cooker with gas hob. We have little confidence in the report and wonder if the surveyor went inside the flat. He did apologise for the errors and send us a revised report.

We've been asked to review the service even before the survey has been carried out?? I hope the actual survey is not as equally confused.

I found it difficult to contact either of the two surveyors you supplied and when one did get in contact it took them several weeks to provide a report. I would have liked the report much sooner so that I could have used it to decide about the purchase of the property.

Didn’t do proper survey. Not professional survey. Within one month, during rain water came inside on kitchen wall. Cause was easily be identified before if surveyor has done proper observation.

The identification and commissioning of the survey was swift as was the issue of the report. According to the Estates agents, however, the surveyor then went away with keys on holiday which resulted in a fruitless return trip for my family from London to Manchester for a second viewing. The report raised many questions which it took the surveyor over a month to respond to.

I received your list of five surveyors quotes with out any trouble. l decided to use a Malcolm Haworth whose quote was £361. When l e-mailed him the quote was raised to £420. This l found misleading and l think you need to get things sorted between you. l gave your list a second chance using Castle Surveyors Ltd whose quote was the same as advertised.

only received one result, and the well known, local, chartered surveyor, was not listed. It is not helpful at all.

I looked for quotes for a full building survey and also for a homebuyers report, only got choice of 2 firms in both cases. Only one of them followed up by calling me. Have now taken advice from my architect instead on who is a good local surveyor.

Virtually no choice offered. Only one RICS registered company offered and the other was not RICS registered (although the individual surveyors were but this was not stated on your posting). If you don't offer more than one supplier (or all the potential suppliers) customers could think that other suppliers are being excluded for some reason

Lack of options provided - I was expecting a whole range of companies bidding for my work but only received three quotes which were very similar in price and offering. Also found that the same companies offered me better prices via other sites.

Very slow and unresponsive customer service. I had to chase delivery of the survey report (which was overdue) on two occasions and received a very dismissive response from Management when I complained about the poor service.

The principal reason I requested a survey, was the fact that the property I am considering purchasing has obvious (and I do mean obvious) signs of rising damp. When I booked the survey I explained that my main concern was the damp issue, and I was assured the survey would provide information and advice on a remedy and the associated cost. However, when the survey arrived, it contained only a passing reference to the damp ("...walls are damp as is to be expected in this type/age of property.." or similar) - completely useless to me. I complained, and after about a fortnight (and a couple of additional emails to try and gee them along!) received additional information from the surveyor. Although it did go into further detail in general about damp and its causes and remedies, the only real advice was to get a damp-specialist to go in and perform a survey! Basically, I've spent about £500 to learn pretty-much what I already knew, and have to spend another £150 in order to get a quote to cure the damp. Thoroughly unimpressed.
