“The website and information was useful, as was the quick list of surveyors provided. Unfortunately the list of surveyors all had really bad reviews so the service wasn't useful for us.”

“My search found one provider to do a survey. The price quoted was reasonable at £730 (the best price I was quoted elsewhere was £517 and the highest quote was £1500). The surveyor got back to me quickly but was unwell and unable to take the work. So Local Building Surveyors is good to use alongside other similar search tools to find a range of providers to choose from”

“My search enquiry yielded just one potential firm although that firm appeared to be ideal. The fee quoted was acceptable. I immediately called the firm to follow up and was told my enquiry would be passed to a named individual. Unfortunately, the return call was slow and by the time it was received I had already given up and appointed a different firm identified through a simple Google search.”

“Website ok, but none of the surveyors suggested would offer to carry out a basic Level 1 survey. The house we're buying is only 3 years old and covered by NHBC. I don't really need a full structural survey @£600.”

“I recently had a builder in to refurbish the roof but he found some big problems: The walls are hollow and may not be able to take the weight of the roof. We have combustible felt under the tiles. Some of the bricks under the roof were completely loose and could be picked up. I think the house was built cheaply back in 1980 and now I have a big problem. Please feel free to look at the house on google maps SL8 5UW No 2”

“Really impressed with how quickly the quotes came back to me and I quickly received a follow up e-mail from one of the surveyors mentioned. However neither were very local to me and I ended up googling by post code instead.”

“Beware of the online quotes. The actual quotes given by the surveyors contacted were 2-3 times those given initially online. Otherwise gave me details of several good possibilities.”
