“I engaged with a few respondents from my enquiry. The one I chose to engage with bombarded me with email, text message and phone calls demanding that I pay them before they even find a surveyor firm to carry out the work for them. They do not employee surveyors but from what I can see they buy the work with a cheaper rate and sell the lead to anyone who is available to take the job on.”

“the website is good, really easy to fill up the form to get quotes. unfortunately i am taking stars off as 3 of the 4results had asked for much more than the estimate. Fortunately the last result was the best, most passionate surveyor i ever came across and with a wealth of experience in real estate”

“Whilst all responded within 48 hours, assumptions were made about the type of property which I was buying. I suggest the initial questionnaires should be scrutinised with a view to adding a section where the enquirer can state the type of property being purchased.”

“Useful although some guidance on quotes given would be useful. The quotes received varied from 700 - 1350. When approached a 760 quote it raised to 960.”

“Lbs site only returned 2 expensive options, one of which called within minutes without having read my notes! Others sent emails, 2 of which were reasonably priced. I chose the most local”

“Out of interest I looked for building surveyors on the internet, with your help. I had to look for good value and finally chose a company that I have used before and which is not on your list. However, since then I have been plagued by surveying companies pursuing me for work, evn when I tell them I am no longer interested. If there is another similar occasion when I need a surveyor, I shall go with my gut and not use the internet.”
