Great and found one. Bad how you get hounded and called for weeks even when you've had the survey done.

It was helpful in quickly finding a list of local surveyors and their quotes for the work. However, within seconds of downloading the list, I was inundated with emails, texts and phone calls from most of the companies on the list - at a time when it was not convenient. I'm happy to receive email quotes but some of the companies send several emails as well as texts and calls and it was too much of a hard sell. That experience could potentially put me off using the service again.

Got 5 replies back, which was good. A range of prices which were all cheaper than I'd been quoted locally. However, when I opted for one of them, I got a whole load of delays which resulted in them eventually saying they couldn't do it and refunding my money. So that was about a month wasted. I then picked another one, where the service wasn't great tbh. They promised the report on a specific day but I had to call them 2 days later to ask where it was before they sent it. So not a huge success really.

Most of the surveyors I contacted couldn’t even be bothered to reply to my enquiry. Of the couple who did only one was helpful despite being unable to provide the service I was after me. Quite frankly I feel I wasted my time trying to communicate with these people.

Using the website and getting the search results was fine and easy to do. Unfortunately, this resulted in many phone calls and repeated emails from the various companies which I found quite annoying and inconvenient. I would have preferred to contact them myself as many were not even local to me.

OK, except I greatly resented being bombarded with emails I didnt ask for. I thought filling in my details would merely bring up local recommended surveyors and not then be conveyed to them, which led to them competing for my business. Disappointing.

It's OK but expect to be bombarded by national firms with a 'local' sell.

Not yet ready to instruct. But please tell me who the surveyor would be. We have asked the vendors to get rid of the spray foam insulation in the roof void first and will then expect the surveyor to approve so that the property is mortgageable. Thanks.

Got a good range of quotes, but it was very irritating that my details were passed on to the various suppliers I have been inundated with unwanted texts and emails.

I didn't end up using either of the surveyors found through Local Building Surveyors. Both firms I found were not specific people, but large firms. While the price was acceptable, I wanted to be able to identify the individual surveyor, and find reviews of their work. Also, I ideally would have liked the option to be able to request a survey with retrofit advice included. This does not yet seem to be a stardard RICS form of survey, but it should be!

I got 2 quotes, but neither was local.

Useful to be able to quickly compare prices but they did not make it obvious that they would ask everyone on the list to contact me so I got dozens of emails and calls from surveyors that I did not want.

The report said was that I should get specialist surveys done for a multitude of different aspects. This made me think why bother paying for the most expensive (of the 3 types of survey) survey when it just suggests other surveys. What I didn't know is damp companies and the like will do a building survey and a specialist damp survey at the same time. I wish I had done this option.

No problem navigating the website. HOWEVER, the ‘highly rated’ firm of Chartered Surveyors has been a total waste of my time and money and caused me unnecessary, additional stress. Their ‘Surveyor’ was unable to identify a chimney breast and the initial report said that the chimney breast in the dining room had been removed and I needed to employ a specialist to check that there were sufficient supports in place. Thankfully, I have a braincell and eyesight and could definitely see a chimney breast, so I didn’t waste more money employing a specialist. Having emailed and spoken to a member of their firm, another report arrived. This time, ALL chimney breasts had been removed and I should employ a specialist....etc.etc.etc. NO chimney breasts have been removed. The Estate Agent’s pics prove that. In addition, their ‘Surveyor’ said ‘there is shared access to the property’. Another work of fiction and further stress for me, trying to figure out where this access might be. The ‘Surveyor’ was never available to speak to. He was either ‘on leave’ and later later ‘on holiday’. A learning curve.

The service was speedy but too many replies and phonecalls - I was inundated.

I received an acceptably quick reply but was not impressed by the system thereafter. I wanted a RICS probate valuation and a date it could be done. Instead I received an automated very generic reply and a request for upfront payment before clarifying the purpose of the valuation and a possiible date. I am not impressed with this automated impersonal service. I phoned up a RICS valuer directly instead from an online search and got a quote, date and a personal service and payment when the service is performed

Hallo we wanted a rebuild valuation for insurance purposes not a home survey. Hence quotations were not apppropiate. One company Cosy is continually emailing. If you could convey our request we would be grateful

The site is a great way to find a local building surveyor, however, expect to be bombarded with emails, text messages and phone calls as soon as you press send!

Only one surveyor got back to me, a national organisation. I was expecting more than this so that i could make comparisons so i haven't used them.
