“We were very unhappy with the quality and promptness of the survey we commissioned. We requested a Building survey rather than a Home buyer report as there were specific issues with the house we wanted to buy and we needed expert advice. We stipulated these requirements when we commissioned the survey. Unfortunately the survey report made no reference to any of the specific issues we had requested. In addition two elements of the report which directly impacted on the issues we wanted advice on appeared to be incorrect. Following receipt of the initial report we requested further clarification on four occasions including two specific requests from our solicitor. On each occasion it took almost two weeks before the surveyor replied and the resultant replies were always defensive and inadequate. I would not recommend this surveyor to any prospective house buyer.”

“I booked a supposedly rics registered surveyor to go in and do a survey on a house I am trying to buy. They said 3 weeks. In that time I heard nothing from him and my phonecalls went unanswered. Imagine my horror when I discovered that this surveyor appeared to have changed his name slightly from a different name..I found on the internet his previous name with some very seriously bad reviews 1 star. Which I assume were truthful as they mentioned the 3 week period and lack of contact, inability to be able to be contacted and the poor standard of work he did carry out. Everyone was saying to avoid him. I rang and emailed straight away to tell him I no longer needed him to carry out the survey. The phone wasn't replied to but he did respond on email..He turned out to have emailed 2 days before to say he now wasn't able to go in til 1st week in January and agreed I could cancel if I wanted. This would have been a lot of money to lose if I had let him carry out shoddy misleading work. This person is called DVE surveyors based in Kendal. The bad reviews were under DJA Surveyors but based at the same address. I believe that the bad reviews are genuine and have been hidden by a name change but search the address ans they come up. I just hope that the structural engineer firm I have now paid to do a survey yesterday were trustworthy and do a properly carried out detailed report.”

Thank you for your review. However, we do not have this company registered on our site as either DVE Surveyors or DJA Surveyors, so we believe you may have found them from elsewhere.

“Hopeless website - the Captcha to check that I am human used US terminology and showed US pictures resulting in it taking 5 minutes to get it right - then found no surveyors!”

“I am not used to or familiar with writing reviews of any kind but the Local Building Surveyors have invited me to comment on my online experience and I find this difficult to respond to because I do not believe that individuals such as me - who are completely unqualified to comment - are invited to do so. What sort of a world are we creating ? Thanks”

“They rang me n left a message, I rang back about 20 mins later nothing. I rang about another 5 times over a couple of days and no answer. I left a voice mail and nothing back. So very poor”

“The company that was first on the list were shocking. Quick to respond initially and then I couldn’t get to speak to them after that. Went with solicitor recommendation in the end. More expensive but great service”
