“After spending considerable time trying to find a surveyor to carry out an insurance rebuild valuation, without suucess, I was hopeful your recommendation would provide a good lead. However I did not even receive an acknowledgement, let alone contact. In the end I ended up with help from a surveyor at the other end of the country, Peignton.”

“Registered with the only recommended surveyor on the platform. Instructed them, gave card details and booked in appointment for survey. Waited in on day of survey and 10 minutes before due to arrive I had a voicemail saying they don’t survey my postcode! Fantastic service when recommended a surveyor that doesn’t work my area!”

“I recieved an email from 1 person, I have replied to his email but he hasn't replied. I think this service is useless, I only wanted a price for a grade 1 RICS surveyor but nobody seems bothered to be bothered. I DONT reconmend this service”

“Three contacts, out of five identified and messsged. One quoted a ridiculous £1500 for a basic survey, one stated they don’t conduct commercial work; third requested adfitionsl information and has failed to make further contact.”

“2 people contacted me. One barely wrote a single word in his response and I didn't pursue it. The other one exchanged a couple of brief emails and agreed to meet on site - but didn't turn up at the scheduled time (or later) even though I waited there for 40 minutes.”

“I tried to make contact on several occasions with both surveyors neither returned emails or phone messages. This was over 4 weeks ended up finding my own. I don’t understand why they put themselves forward if they do not want the business.”

“Through this website, we were directed toward a sham surveyor, a Mr Edmund Drewless of Kent Property Partnership. He took our money and produced a worthless homebuyer's report which failed to perform any adequate due diligence on the property. We instructed another surveyor to carry out a the same report which was 10 pages longer and listed 9 urgent issues that needed attention prior to exchange of contract, including damp. Mr Drewless, if indeed this is even him, should be removed from your website and lose his RICS status. Please also google Mr Drewless and his sham firm to see other reviews like this which we should have picked up before our transaction (however we placed too much trust in your website and his RICS accreditation).”

“The process is straightforward and clear. However, I asked for a Home buyer report with valuation, and my surveyor sent me a report only with £70 extra charge. And he delayed the house visit for 2 weeks.”

“I was not overly impressed with the service provided. All communication had to be on line and once the survey had been carried out it took about three weeks for the report to be sent to me which I felt was far too long”

“Very inexperienced, limited knowledge of the area, under valued the property by £35,000. I did ask her to review but she was not willing to. I ended up paying another experienced surveyor to gain a correct valuation.”

“- Booked a level 2 survey and valuation, received surveyor report only - The quotation was £360, requested me to pay £430 before the service, without any negociation, explanation, or prior notice - The surveyor came 2 weeks after the agreed date, until I called him about the absence”

“It is impossible to submit your request without giving your telephone number which is unnecessary as you obviously have to give your email address. I almost decided not to use the website as I didn't want anyone phoning me, but then saw that there's a box where you can put a message for the surveyors receiving your details. So I left a message asking them not to telephone me and to contact me by email only and submitted my request. Mistake! Within a few minutes I got a phone call from one of the companies. I told the caller I had asked that they didn't phone me and he subsequently emailed me, but I decided that I wouldn't consider the quote as they had ignored my request. I received emails from the other surveyors and decided not to use any of them for various reasons, but three of them keep on sending the mails and have now started phoning too. Can they not understand that if I'm interested I will contact them, and if they keep pestering me I will most likely not be giving them my business?”

Thank you for your review Margaret. Sorry that some of the surveyors did not respect your 'do not call' request. We do try and make clear in our FAQs, privacy policy and T&Cs that you can use the site without including your phone number, by either entering zeros or 'please don't call' in the phone number box. You can also add a dummy email address if you really don't want to be contacted, although you will only see your quotes on screen and they will not be emailed to you if you do that.
