“DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! !!!!!!!BAD REFUND AND DELIVERY REPUTATION!!!!!!! Ordered a simple bannister, and they could not supply even that. On the day of delivery, not only was it not delivered but the delivery company didn’t have a clue and said they don’t deliver for that company. They transferred me 5 times and found no log, but had emailed me to say that a card had been posted which it had not. Deborah at Jackson Woodturners was even worse and was no help at all. After I request a refund from Jackson Woodturners, I was told that they would refund my money once they had received the bannister back from the delivery company (who still don’t know anything about it) they would issue the refund BUT minus the delivery costs. I’m now out of pocket 1/2 days wages, a standing charge for the joiner as he now has nothing to fit, and a deliver charge For a delivery which did not happen. On reading review, I am not the not one to have problems with this company when it comes to deliver and refunds, as they seem to be getting a reputation!for it. Now waiting for a call from the manager On Monday....we will see.”

“Superb customer service! And an excellent product. My order was straightforward and I paid extra to have my stair rail delivered at a certain time as I was going away for a few days. When it didn't arrive I called Jackson Woodturners to say it hadn't arrived over two hours after the end of the time slot. I'm glad I did as the external delivery company claimed they had delivered it and I had signed for it. When I got back three days later I found the rail in my back garden, (I have had other peoples stuff from Amazon thrown over my fence too!). Not the fault of Jacksons. Customer service were brilliant and offered me a very fair discount for the inconvenience and slight damage to the rail. I'm sure they are changing their delivery service as they were very annoyed by this. Would definately recommend them. Haven't had such quibble free service for years.”

“I actually went to a website called stairpartsonline.co.uk but they don't answer the phone? so after checking address works out that they have same phone number as these people who coincidentally don't answer their phone either, emm and they don't seem to have a great write up here as well, some one else is getting my cash see you later.”

“I placed an order through Ebay for four Newel caps, after two weeks of waiting for my order to arrive I emailed to trace where they were, Debra informed me that a courier had delivered them , however I had no idea of this as no calling card was left or email. Debra at this company told me that I had to chase up my order to arrange a delivery, something that I believed to be down to her to resolve , not once throughout trying to resolve this did she apologise on behalf of their company. End result was a partial refund as she didn't see why she should refund me the five pounds for delivery . Outrageous”

“Sent wrong item by company for the second time, 41mm spindles with a 32mm handrail (ordered correctly). Sent previously a square base connector for a newel it would never fit, customer service is poorly communicated and takes a long time to answer. Never answered original emails weeks after, happy to take your money but not correct their issues. Avoid, shop elsewhere.”

“Most of the wood supplied was fine. However the handrail for our internal balcony was stained at both ends - as seen when sanded. Company denied this - despite 2 joiners and our own experience of the product. Did not offer to replace at the time but afterwards told us we should have requested a replacement! Very unhelpful and rather rude response. Wouldn't recommend and won't use again.”

“We are in the process of renovating a big old 4 storey Victorian house and decided to refurbish the staircases. Fortunately we only bought enough parts from Jacksons to do the top half turn and landing as a trial run. The quality of the product is dreadful. The base rail was too small for the spindles which all had to be filed down individually to make them fit. The man we spoke to on the phone was totally disinterested and has so far ignored our emailed complaints. If we had just bought wood from them then we would expect to have to make it fit ourselves but we purchased a system which is sold as a ‘slot together’ system where the spindles are advertised as slotting into a groove on the baserail. They don’t fit. We will be sourcing the parts for the other 3 staircases from elsewhere.”

“Very quick service. Items arrived well wrapped to avoid damage. Ordered by phone as the website price kept changing as I tried to complete the order, however the person I spoke to was very helpful and completed the order. I cannot fault this company or product in anyway”

“Delivered quickly but they sent faulty products. No answer from customer service, just an answer machine which they seem to switch on before the office actually closes. Who knows how long I'll have to wait to get replacement parts now. A day off work wasted. Unhappy”

“So impressed with Jackson Woodturners. Originally went to "Champions" and got terrible service- plus the cost was just stupid, but glad I found these guys. Banisters, posts and rails were delivered really quickly, packaging was very thorough. Website was easy to use and informative. Would highly recommend. I need to investigate what else they do as will be using them for more stuff going forward.”

“Ordered spindles, oak handrail and accessories for a DIY project. Delivered on the specified date and very well packaged. I had to phone customer services to change the order slightly (a mistake on my part) and it was all handled really efficiently. Great quality materials at a very reasonable price. “We are very pleased with the product supplied by Jackson Woodturners. We looked at all options for buying and having done online quotes with 3 or 4 UK suppliers called and asked them to at least match the best price with they did. Our preference was to buy more locally than some of the Essex based suppliers in case we had to get more bits or return any that weren't needed. We went for a very simple square oak look in our barn conversion and the result is fantastic.”

“MY wife's project: Stair handrails with enclosed glass balustrade. Out choice's of wood, were oak or pine . Oak was a bit dark and expensive to be compatible with its surrounds, and ordinary pine was a bit featureless in grain. We opted for Hemlock which we hoped would fall somewhere in-between the oak and pine in appearance. we used a satin varnish finish which worked out really well. The quality of the timber, delivery options and quite importantly, the prices, were excellent . Fortunately we had a top Chippy to do the job-----ME Good stuff, Jackson's”
