“No problems at all with the purchase delivery and fitting of the spindles which I purchased. The only comment I would make is that the priming coat was oil-based and, not being aware of this, there was obviously a problem when a spirit-based paint was applied. Once I had established this after I had applied the spirit-based paint to a number of spindles, then the use of a water-based paint got around this problem (it would seem that oil-based is not necessarily easily come by). I may well have missed the information on the web-site as to the nature of the primer, but perhaps it could be made more prominent or a water-based primer used? But, to reiterate, a good quality product.”

“Purchased a made up kit to refurb stairs and landing , the advice was given to me what to purchase over the phone . Found that once all was fitted things dont quite match . The newel caps are polished oak and lighter than the newels and rail, the newels are a different grain and are darker than oak rails and caps . Had to use two shades of stain to try and match up , which now looks close but will never match newels and rails as the indifference in wood grain and finish .”

“I bought oak handrail and once twisted square spindles . The service was execelent the product is superb and it looks fabulous . I had the handrail and spindles fitted by Steve Mawson Joinery. He was pleasant, fairly priced and did a great job which I cannot fault. I bought the asimetric safety handrail shape and am over the moon with how well it fits your hand.
