I have mixed feelings about my purchase from Insulation4less. I ordered six packs (two rolls per pack totalling 12 rolls) of Black Mountain Natuwool insulation, which was the minimum number I could purchase through the website. But just three packs (six rolls) were delivered. When I phoned up it was clear they misunderstood their own website — they thought I had ordered six rolls rather than six packs (12 rolls). They then sent me a pro forma invoice telling me to pay another £180 — in addition to the £530 I had already paid — to get delivery of the other three packs (six rolls). It was then put to me that they had already made a loss —"taken the hit" were the exact words — on the first delivery of three packs (six rolls) and they weren't prepared to make a further loss on delivering the other three packs unless I paid. I refused and said I wanted to cancel the order because the fault was entirely their own. This caused me a lot of stress because I had spent a lot of time over several months researching the project for which I needed the wool — insulating under our suspended timber floor. The window I had to do the project was only a couple of days away by this point — I had ordered with more than enough time to spare — and it was the only time I had available for at least a year to do it. In the end, after several hours, Insulation4less came back to me and said they would honour the order and send the other three rolls at no extra cost. To their credit, they did the right thing, but only after I stood my ground. Their position from the start was indefensible and yet they still tried to push me into paying more. That was wrong, and it should not have happened. But, also to their credit, whenever I phoned up during office hours, someone did answer the phone and they did look into my issue rather than fob me off, which would've been easy for them to do. So, I would use Insulation4less again but with some trepidation.

Problems with delivery communication! Called the morning of delivery to establish an eta, to be told early afternoon, so I relieved my dad from his duties of waiting in all morning. After around an hour which was then mid morning the delivery driver calls me to say he has arrived and nobody is home. I had to call my dad back to get to my house urgently. Not the best level of service, nor an impressed dad!

Price was good, organisation of delivery hopeless! You can only email on the day of delivery to find out a delivery time slot. The problem is there is no one to read the email until 8.30 a.m. and delivery can be from 8a.m. I telephoned and pointed out that the site was unmanned and so I would be a minimum of 1 hour notice of delivery. They said they would ask the driver to ring. The driver did ring, about 15 mins before delivery so it was impossible for me to get to site in time for him arriving. He was not told that the reason for the telephone call was that the site was unmanned. He said he would have phoned earlier had he known. Luckily he was a very helpful driver and unloaded the item while he was waiting for me to attend site. The item was delivered but a bit more by luck rather than judgement.

Good prices, and delivery, but product webpages give mediocre information, for instance I had no idea how much two packs of four sheets of 70mm thick x 2.4 metre x 1.2 metre K7 Kingspan weighed, your website 'Technical Specs' state 'Weight KG [sic] 1.0000', so very easy to lift off the delivery truck with one hand one might think, but the two packs came marked as weighing a total of 64kg when delivered, so just as well the truck brought its own forklift . . . could give many more examples. Important I feel to get all your 'shopwindow' product webpage info right and meaningful, as well as your prices and delivery so there is no customer confusion and doubt that might encourage us to look elsewhere.

Product is good for a reasanable price. Some issues with delivery. Checked that I could specify the date of delivery before purchase and was told I could as the property it was going to was empty and I needed time off to take delivery. Then once I had purchased it was told it’s only an estimated date for delivery which was no good to me. Resolved this and the package came on the date they estimated but I contacted them that morning to get a time of delivery to be told around 12pm.. package came at 9:40am so it’s a good job I didn’t leave. In today’s world it’s not hard to track delivery’s and if there is a company that sell the stuff I need for a similar price or even a little more expensive but have better delivery information I would go with them.

Products a fine but delivery took too long. Similar products order on the same day were delivered to site almost a week earlier.

Very good on price. Goods arrived on site undamaged and without much delay — but a whole day earlier than they specified, so it was lucky there was anyone to accept! Driver was good & helpful.

Helpful staff on the other end of thte phone and a transparent, smooth ordering process. More precise delivery details would be appreciated e.g. day before notice of either a.m. or p.m. delivery slot. 50mm Celotex GA4050 closer to 40mm at some points. I am not sure how this relates to specification.

Hi Jason, thank you for the review. We value our customers feedback greatly and we also like to provide explanations to our customers if they are unhappy for whatever reason. I see on your order that it did take almost 6 weeks for your insulation to arrive and for this we are truly sorry. However the reason for this delay was due to a manufacturer issue. Celotex were unable to manufacture insulation at the normal rate due to a chemical fire in Germany. This factory that went on fire provides all the polyiso companies their chemicals that makes their boards. As a result of this fire there was a full nationwide shortage on this type of insulation. We do apologise for the delay on your order however this was completely out of our hands until stock levels returned to normal in January. Even today there are still slight stock issues around the country but it is slowly coming back to normal. Generally our lead time on this type of insulation is 3-5 days. I hope this has not turned you off using Insulation4less as we are the highest rated insulation company in the UK and we pride ourselves on our customer service and customer communication. Part of the order was missing. One of my items was damaged. Some of the items I ordered were not in stock so a slightly more expensive item was substituted , at no extra cost to myself Missing items were sent a week later , however no mention was made of the damaged item , even though it was pointed out to the delivery driver and recorded as damaged on the delivery sheet. The girls I spoke to on the phone were very friendly and helpful.
