“Very cheap unit, refurbished, but arrived looking and smelling like new. Works much faster than our old unit and so far has not missed a recording.”

“The setup was very easy and the FVP-4000T connected to the wifi without any problem. The menu had changed from my last Humax box which took a little while to get used to. Sometimes the guide can be missing on one channel while it be available on others which is rather odd and can be annoying when in a hurry to place a recording. The associated app is next to useless so do not even bother downloading that.”

“This is a useful tuner/recorder, albeit not the super friendly level of the newer Freesat machine. Good value, however, as a reconditioned unit. Many thanks”

“Does just what it says on the box! Receives and records Freeview with easy to navigate software. The only niggles are an on-screen reminder to watch local news in HD which pops up repeatedly - local news is not available in HD! And for me it's annoying when you record a series to have playback opting to play the final episode of a series when there are earlier episodes unwatched - just asking for a spoiler to appear on screen giving away bits you haven't yet watched. But overall A1 with 5 stars - integration with BBC iPlayer is superb. With a huge hard disc for recording, why pay for an expensive satellite system when all the main channels can be received this way?”

“My Humax is very good - once I got it working. There was a problem when it arrived which, with the help of the local dealer, we traced to the HDMI cable sent with the machine DID NOT WORK. I have used one of my own, which has to be replaced on the machine I have borrowed it from.”

“The ability to add padding before and after recordings is a great impovement on the previous model which I had, particularly with Law and Order where we often missed the crime or the verdict from time to time. However, the light is barely visible tucked underneath and of a dark colour unlike the bright blue circle on the previous one. Also where there is a series of a particular programme such as Law and Order we can only get a summary of the latest recording instead of all recordings in a series as previously.”

“You cant get TV player on it you have to have another streaming box which is not the impression you get from the advertising. It freezes all the time especially when you are trying to stream recorded programs on a T3. Setting up recording is a real pig with it failing especially when you are trying to record more than one program at the same time even though you are meant to be able to record four at a time.”

“I was on YouView with TalkTalk and became frustrated by their escalating price policy. I learnt of the existence of FreeView and that appeared to do everything that Youview did but perhaps in more transparent way, and certainly I had on occasions found I had to go to the broadcaster's internet facility such as IPlayer with BBC, when a particular program I wanted to watch was not available on YouView. So far I have FreeView has not led me to need to do this, so here's hoping! I know I can use On Demand. if I need to though.”

“I have been very happy with my new Human until last night (Friday). When I went to look at a recording the machine went to the Program page and page told me there were no Recordings.The light on the human was at green. I tried to switch the humax but there was no movement. I tried this a number of times to no avail. Eventually I switched the humax off at the power source and when I switched it on again it worked as normal. What happened here? I would like you to record this occurrence as were it to happen again I would be seeking a replacement. I would point out that I only use the humax to make and watch recordings. Yours faithfully, David Melrose”
